An Empirical Study of Effect how e-Trade and e-L/C Impact on Business Performance in SME (우리나라 중소기업의 전자신용장 활용(e-L/C)과 사업성과에 관한 실증연구)

  • Recently, enterprise information management activities have been applied to promote electronic trade, while changing the paradigm of cross-border trade and overall trade business processes. L/C, which facilitates payment from the trade transaction in a company, has been able to eliminate the high cost and inefficient element of the trade process by utilizing the electronic letter of credit (e-L/C). This study examines the influential relationship among the e-trade utilizing factor (such as the perceived ease of use and the volition of CEO), the e-L/C and corporate performance, and the study aimed to verify the moderating effect of customer service level by organizations utilizing e-trade. For the purpose of the research, we conducted a survey implementing the e-L/C and analyzed the 338 data collected. The results of this research are as follows. First, the perceived ease of use and volition of CEO have positive impact on the e-L/C. Second, the e-L/C has positive impact on the business performance. Third, a moderating effect shows on the customer expectation level. The main implication of this study is that the perceived ease of use is to be considered preferentially than the volition of CEO in order to utilize electronic trading, and the volition of CEO shows synergy effect with customer service level by organization utilizing e-trade.

  • In this paper, we mainly describe the development of exclusive u-device essentially required to implement new ITS services (taxi call service, service for transportation vulnerable, transport information service, walker's navigator, electronic payment service, call information service etc.). To design this device, Samsung main CPU S3C2440A was selected and large memories (ROM and RAM) which are required for new ITS services are applied. In addition, all of GPS, RFID module, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions are included to develop an exclusive device indispensable in the ubiquitous society. For this, in this paper, we first examined detailed design of an exclusive u-device development, and based on the designed contents, the performance of a realized u-device was evaluated. If services are created by linking new ITS services with relevant public institutions or companies, based on application of the exclusive u-device developed as above, they would be expanded to a new blue ocean, expectedly resulting in a big spillover effect in local societies.

  • A hybrid information service may include local and/or remote distributed services, both and electronic. Also, a hybrid information service can be described as one which an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest high-level requirements and logical architecture to design hybrid library. High-level requirements analysis for hybrid library need to contain baseline requirements, basic system requirements, searching, location, requesting, delivery and payment. A logical architecture need to consider logical architecture for hybrid library management system including user access points, hybrid library management system and hybrid library components and 5 layered architecture including presenter, coordinator, mediator, communicator and provider to achieve local simplicity while still supporting complex functionality of hybrid library.

  • Public service provision through internet is one of major parts for e-government implementation. It is essential to link the internal administrative network with internet to provide the services through internet and to support kiosks through internet, which should result in critical issues for security. A relay server, as a front server for the public service processing system and a web server, a control server for kiosks, are placed between the public service processing system and kiosks to solve those security issues. It is the way to solve security issues through protecting direct communication between the public service processing system and a web server and authenticating a relay server and a web server through authentication process. In the implementation of the system this paper provide a design for an architecture model of the public service processing system through internet, which are aiming to develop high level of the quality system effectively, to reduce the risk of initial stage of development, and to reduce the incurring cost due to reworks.

  • Electronic transactions have been increasing with the development of the high-speed Internet and wireless communication. However, in recent years financial corporations and mobile carriers were attacked by hackers. And large numbers of privacy information have been leaked. In particular, in the case of credit card information can be misused in the online transaction, and the damage of this given to cardholder. To prevent these problems, it has been proposed to use a virtual card number instead of the actual card number. But it has security vulnerability and requires additional security infrastructure. In this paper, we analyzed the proposed virtual card number schemes. and we propose a new virtual credit card number scheme. In the newly proposed scheme, cardholder generates a key pair (public key/private key) and pre-register public key to the issuer. then, cardholder can pay no additional security infrastructure while still efficiently satisfy the security requirements.

  • A P2P is a method that can share and exchange on digital resources through a direct connection on personnel without a central server. In this paper, we apply a P2P technology to a traditional electronic commerce method so that a seller and a customer can perform a commercial transaction through a direct communication. As such a result, we propose a new e-Commerce model on P2P environment to assure fairness in commercial transactions. To achieve our goal, we put an escrow server which is responsible for guarantee fair contents delivery and payment for the contents between a seller and a customer. When a customer buys content, he first obtains reputation values implicating reliability for the content and refers to these values to determine purchase. The proposed scheme, we can improve the reliability for the purchasing content and provide the fairness to both a seller and a customer simultaneously.

Variations in hospital length of stay for diagnosis-related groups among health care institutions (DRG 지불제도 참여기관의 재원일수 변이에 관한 연구)

  • The present study was conducted to examine the degree of variation in length-of-stay (LOS) among health care institutions participating in 17 diagnosis-related groups (DRGs) payment system and to find out hospital characteristics affecting the variation. Electronic medical claims data for treatments of severity classification '0' of 17 DRGs provided for two $years(2003{\sim}2004)$ were collected. For each DRG, the degree of variation in average LOS among health care institutions were analyzed using the random effect model. For DRGs showing significant differences in LOS, multiple regression analyses were performed to find out factors associated with LOS. Significant variations in LOS were observed 9 DRGs including unilateral/bilateral lens procedures, adult/child tonsilectomy, other anal procedures, bilateral adult/child herniorraphy, unilateral child herniorraphy, and hysterectomy, and hysterectomy using laparoscopic procedure. Among the 9 DRGs, five DRGs were selected to investigate the factors explaining for the variation. It was observed that the location of institution was significant predictors for all five DRGs. Within the same DRGs, LOS was significantly shorter among the institutions located in Seoul than those in other areas. As compared to clinics, hospitals and general hospitals/tertiary care institutions showed significantly longer LOS for DRGs of lens procedures, tonsilectomy, and other anal procedures. It is recommended that the institutions located in other than Seoul area benchmark the strategies of the institution in Seoul in efficiently managing LOS. Also, significant variation within the same severity classification such as other anal procedures implies the imminent need for improvement of patient classification system.

  • With the rapid progress of research to offer a convenience of mobile communication, the mobile users can use not only the services of voice call but also the variety services of data communication using Internet. These include Internet Searching, Internet Shopping and Internet banking and Internet stock exchange and electronic payment and so on, based on PKI. Also, the need of data communication between the mobile users has been increased. As it is possible for mobile users to do user authentication, key distribution, encryption, decryption and so on, it is needed the certificate status validation between the mobile users. However due to the PCS(Personal Communication System) had been only designed and implemented for voice call between the mobile users, it is not easy to apply data communication between the mobile users on PKI. Therefore the study of for the data communication between the mobile users in PCS is a few. It is for the data transfer between the mobile users to communicate using call processing of PCS. So, we propose how to process the certificate status validation during call processing for data communication between the mobile users in the PCS.

  • Now a days the banks, with a wide spread of credit transaction practice in every business, offer better services to their customers, while the automation of banking is being made more rapid progress in th light of efficient banking service. For example, it is true that the automation of cash payment for customers goes on its progress and the competition between companies is getting more serious. Lately the banks that pursue "Banking Automation System" expand distribution of cash dispenser for the better electronic computer service and for the better service for their customers in quality. Therefore the makers producing "CD" accelerate their development of CD in various ways in order to secure M/S as the leading group of th field. CD, a kind of an automatic paying, is being used generally, and has various functions and its design is getting more compact than ever. Under this situation, I studied more trustworthy and convenient CD design suggestions in the way of case study on the basis of the process of developing CD and I suggest the better way of developing the design of CD in the future.

  • A Study on the Information Security System of Fin-Tech Business In traditional electronic commerce, there have not been severe issues of trading information through documents in paper or the closed EDI. The scale of e-commerce has increased as internet develops, however, turning to the online e-commerce, which caused a number of issues such as authentication, information forgery, and non-repudiation between the parties. To prevent conflicts from such troubles and perform the post management, security technologies are applied throughout the process of e-commerce, certificates intervening. Lately, meanwhile, FinTech has been creating a sensation around the mobile payment service. Incidents of information leakage from card corporations and hackings imply the need of securing safety of the financial service. Development and evolution of FinTech industry must be accompanied by information protection. Therefore, this research aims to inquire into the information security system of leading FinTech company in a foreign country.
