  • 미래의 고도화 된 정보통신 서비스를 가능하도록 하기 위해 테라비트(Tb/s)급 광전송시스템의 구축이 예상되고 있으며, 이를 달성하기 위한 핵심기술로서 초고속 전자소자의 설계 및 제작기술의 개발이 매우 중요한 현안이다. 본 논문에서는 차세대 테라비트 광전송시스템 구현에 필요한 20-40Gb/s의 전송속도를 갖는 초고속 전자소자의 국내외 연구동향을 분석하고 앞으로의 기술 추세를 예견하였으며, 관련된 핵심 반도체 소자기술을 설명하였다.

Color Image Quantization and Dithering Method based on HVS Characteristics

  • New methods for both color palette design and dithering based on human visual system (HVS) characteristics are proposed. Color quantization for palette design uses the relative visual sensitivity and spatial masking effect of HVS. The dithering operation for printing uses nonlinear quantization, which considers the overlapping phenomena among neighbor printing dots, and then a modified dot-diffusion algorithm is followed to compensate the degradation produced in the quantization process. The proposed techniques can produce high quality image in the low-bit color devices.

  • We investigated a nanoscale inertia sensor based on telescoping carbon nanotubes, using classical molecular dynamics simulations. The position of the telescoping nanotubes is controlled by the centrifugal force exerted by the rotation platform, thus, position shifts are determined by the capacitance between carbon nanotubes and the electrode, and the operating frequency of the carbon nanotube oscillator. This measurement system, tracking oscillations of the carbon nanotube oscillator, can be used as the sensor for numerous types of devices, such as motion detectors, accelerometers and acoustic sensors.

  • Graphene is a fascinating material with excellent electrical, optical, mechanical, and chemical properties. Remarkable progress has been made in the development of methods for synthesizing large-area, high-quality graphene. Recently, the chemical vapor deposition method has opened up the possibility of using graphene for electronic devices and other applications. This review covers simple and inexpensive methods to grow graphene using polymers as solid carbon sources; which do not require an additional process to transfer graphene from the growth substrate to the receiver substrate.

  • In this paper. we present a new speech recognition system using DSP chip. DSP chip used TMS320c6711 of TI. We designed hardware system including acoustic model, word list and code book in flash memory. The word candidates are recognized based on CV, VCCV, and VC units HMM. This system can be applied to various electric & electronic devices: home automation, robotics etc.

  • This research is about the remote control of the infra-ray signal producer and the received signal memory-type control unit. Also by using the infra-ray signal from the remote control, reduction of malfunctions due to infra-ray signal from other devices are presented. Applications on various electric and electronic items to improve the convenience are also shown.

Spectrums of Chua's Oscillator Circuit with a Cubic Nonlinear Resistor (Cubic 비선형 저항에 의한 카오스 발진회로의 스펙트럼)

  • This paper describes implementation and simulation of Chua's oscillator circuits with a cubic non-linear resistor. The two-terminal nonlinear resistor NR consists of one Op Amp two multipliers and five resistors. The Chua's oscillator circuit is implemented with analog electronic devices. Period-1 limit cycle period-2 limit cycle period-4 limit cycle and spiral attractor double-scroll attractor and 2-2 window are observed experimentally from the laboratory model and simulated by computer for the presented model. Comparing the result of experiments and simulations the spectrums are satisfied.
