Objectives : This study developed an iPad-based animation for an electronic informed consent to directly help patients prepare an informed consent. The goal was to raise patients' understanding about the contents contained in a DNR informed consent in the current medical situation in which DNR informed consents are mostly written by a guardian. Methods : The development of a DNR electronic informed consent was done in 3 stages: analysis, design and development. The analysis stage was done with a survey on the real status of preparing a DNR informed consent in a medical institution. The design stage was done with the contents in the DNR electronic informed consent through a primary and secondary Delphi survey. The development stage created a DNR electronic informed consent and evaluated it through a tertiary Delphi survey. Results : After evaluating the appropriateness of the composition of the contents, the understanding of the contents, the convenience of use, the reflection of an expert opinion, and the suitability of the application, all had scores higher than 4 points. Conclusions : The results of this study show that our proposed DNR electronic informed consent can help patients better understanding the contents of a DNR informed consent.

A research model was developed to examine the relationship between the anticipated benefits of electronic commerce and competitive strategies. A survey questionnaire was sent to 2000 electronic shopping malls in Korea, and 102 usable responses were obtained. The survey asked about the anticipated benefits from using electronic commerce. The survey also asked about three strategies that they have been following to achieve business competitiveness. The results provide useful guideline to develop appropriate strategies and plans for effectively deploying and managing the use of the electronic commerce. Customer responsiveness was the most important factors among six benefit factors, namely customer responsiveness, market responsiveness, economies of production, internal organizational efficiency, overall performance, and flexibility. Overall performance also predicted a focus strategy whereas flexibility predicted a cost leadership strategy.

The image and impression characteristics of the consumer electronic products have become an important factor in purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze and interpret the image and impression characteristics based on the consumer preference survey. The survey consisted of two parts. First part was to measure the predetermined 52 design variables that can represent the design variables of the products. In the second part, 60 subjects were requested to evaluate 36 audio/video electronic products on 25 different image attributes such as luxuriousness, attractiveness, and granularity. In this study, empirical data from the survey were analyzed through various multivariate analysis and ANOVA analysis. Additionally, this study suggested a statistical procedure that can be applied to select and/or screen critical design variables. It is expected that the results of this study can provide practical information to the designers of consumer electronic products.

This study is to test some expected performances coming from the introduction child care electronic voucher system, and suggest some policy implications. At first, this study established causal model on the expected performances of child care electronic voucher system, and then tested it through structural equation model on the base of survey. Survey was made through sampling employees of child care facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City. This study showed that the expected effects of child care electronic voucher system are significant. This study suggested some implications basing on this analytical results.

This paper aims to determine the preference and use of electronic information and resources by blind/visually impaired users in the leading National Capital Region (NCR) libraries of India. Survey methodology has been used as the basic research tool for data collection with the help of questionnaires. The 125 in total users surveyed in all the five libraries were selected randomly on the basis of willingness of the users with experience of working in digital environments to participate in the survey. The survey results were tabulated and analyzed with descriptive statistics methods using Excel software and 'Stata version 11'. The findings reveal that ICT have a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities as it helps them to work independently and increases the level of confidence among them. The Internet is the most preferred medium of access to information among the majority of blind/visually impaired users. The 'Complexity of content available on the net' is found as the major challenge faced during Internet use by blind users of NCR libraries. 'Audio books on CDs/DVDs and DAISY books' are the most preferred electronic resources among the majority of blind/visually impaired users. This study will help the library professionals and organizations/institutions serving people with disabilities to develop effective library services for blind/visually impaired users in the digital environment on the basis of findings on information usage behavior in the study.

In this paper, we investigate the signal design of six (USA, EU, Russia, China, Japan, and India) countries for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Recently, a navigation satellite system that is capable of high-precision and reliable Positioning, Navigation, Timing (PNT) services has been developed. Prior to system design, a survey of the signal design for other GNSS systems should precede to ensure compatibility and interoperability with other GNSS. The signal design includes carrier frequency, Pseudorandom Noise (PRN) code, modulation, navigation service, etc. Specifically, GNSS is allocated L1, L2, and L5 bands, with recent additions of the L6 and S bands. GNSS uses PRN code (such as Gold, Weil, etc) to distinguish satellites that transmit signals simultaneously on the same frequency band. For modulation, both Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) and Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) have been widely used to avoid collision in the frequency spectrum, and alternating BOCs are adopted to distinguish pilot and data components. Through the survey of other GNSS' signal designs, we provide insights for guiding the design of new satellite navigation systems.

본 연구는 대학도서관에서 전자저널을 효과적으로 관리하고 서비스하기 위한 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여, 문헌조사 및 사례조사를 바탕으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 선행연구 분석에서는 전자저널과 관련된 다양한 이슈를 중심으로 이론적 배경을 조사하였으며, 사례조사로서 국내외 6개 대학도서관의 웹사이트를 접근, 목록, 이용자서비스 측면에서 분석하였다. 그리고 대학도서관에서 전자저널을 담당하고 있는 사서들을 대상으로 전자저널의 선정 및 구독 현황을 비롯하여 크게 8개 항목으로 47개의 문항으로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대학도서관에서 전자저널의 효과적 관리 및 서비스를 제공하기 위한 8가지 가이드라인을 제시하였다.

The widespread diffusion of Internet has enables companies to conduct business in quite a different way. marketing on the Internet becomes more important as firms adopt electronic commerce as a means to implement competitive strategies. One hundred and four BC shopping mall companies responded to an e-mail and web server survey about the anticipated benefits of electronic commerce and related strategies. The survey also asked about improvements in value chain activities and impediments to the implementation of electronic commerce in Korea. The results indicated that Korean shopping mall companies followed differentiation strategy significantly more than the other two strategies. In addition, six benefits factors were drawn from this study - information, productivity, cost savings, customers, management information, and applications. Productivity factor was related to cost leadership strategy, and customers factor was related with cost leadership, differentiation and focus strategies. Several benefits factors were also correlated with value chain activity improvements. The results of this study were compared with those of research conducted in the United States.

In recent years, electronic finance, especially online banking and brokerage services has reshaped the financial landscape around the world For example, e-finance makes it possible to offer banking services around the world 24 hours a day. The aim of this paper is to analyze the macroeconomic effects of e-finance and e-money, or with existing leading studies, is to survey how development of e-finance effects on monetary polices, and is to think out political devices to raise the efficiency of monetary polices.

Objectives : A Survey was conducted to find out usages of Korean medicine electronic charts and requirements of clinical decision support functionalities in the charts. Methods : An e-mail was sent to about 12,000 Korean medicine doctors that was affiliated to the Association of Korea Oriental Medicine. 250 doctors answered the questionnaires during one week. Results : Most doctors of 83% answered in use the electronic charts and use it mainly to insurance claims. 46% of them felt that diagnosis functions need to be improved first in the electronic charts. Moreover, 66% of them answered that expert systems to support diagnosis is required if provided. Conclusions : The clinical decision support systems help doctors diagnosis patients in a desirable manner. Many researches have been proposed about them in modern medical science, while a few studies suggested in Korean medicine. In the future, more researches in the field of diagnosis of electronic charts should be proceeded.
