The general purpose of deposit is to ensure that the knowledge of the present is not lost to the future. By today the status of legal deposit scheme in various countries including Korea is focusing on paper-based publication or tangible electronic publications. Born-digital publications including electronic books should be registered and be deposited for meeting the aims of deposit. This study presents the findings on deposit legislation, deposit arrangement, and accessing methods of networked electronic publications. The study suggests electronic deposit system, and outlines the technical and procedural challenges involved in developing the deposit system.

The objective of this study is to catch hold of the problem occurring in the process in which librarians have obtained government publications and to show the method that can construct the rational distribution system of government publications. For this study, total 56 librarians who work for 44 institutes sponsored by central government and 12 institutes sponsored by local government were chosen as the objects of research and questionnaire survey to know how to obtain government publications. How to construct the rational distribution system of government publications is as follows. (1) The exclusive organization to manage overall service for government publications should be established newly or previous similar organization should be reorganized. (2) As reinforcing the law concerning deposit copy, government publications should be distributed obligatorily to all of the depository agency, and the depository library system of government publications should be introduced and managed newly. Especially the management of deposit copy and the depository library system of government publications should be undertaken by the exclusive agency of government publications. (3) Free-government publications should be converted to pay-government publications as much as possible so that everyone can purchase government publications easily. And free-government publications which are difficult to convert to pay-government publications should be distributed according to rational standard by the exclusive agency of government publications. (4) Pay-government publications should be sold by private distribution organization under exclusive agency of government publications. Also printing, editing and pricing of pay-government publications should be done by private distribution organization to compete with general books. (5) In order to promote the sales of pay-government publications, the sales centers of government publications must be established even in city and county. Also special government publications which have much demand should be sold even in general book stores. Especially the management of the sales centers should be undertaken by private distribution organization. (6) It is necessary to abolish or improve unreasonable regulations or system related to government publications and to make legislative, institutional devices for government publications. (7) The public relations for government publications should be enforced much through TV or radio etc. , and the various bibliographic tools of government publications should be developed and disseminated for the sake of much utilization of government publications. (8) By using new technology like CD-ROMs or communication networks, electronic production and distribution of government publications should be push ahead positively. And electronic information distribution center to su n.0, pport it should be established by government agency.

This study aimed to propose considerations for attributes and their standardization strategies during the data collection process for electronic publications by domestic distributors for the National Library of Korea. The research identified a total of 21 essential and optional attributes based on a survey and a Focused Group Interview (FGI) with the staff responsible for legal deposit and acquisition tasks at the National Library of Korea. Additional attributes were found necessary during the data quality verification process, leading to the specification of essential and optional attributes for various types of materials, including eBooks, audiobooks, webtoons, and web novels. The standardization of attribute values, essential for enhancing the identifiability and management efficiency of electronic publications, included adherence to ISO 8601 rules for dates and times, clear designation of limited-range attribute values such as file format and adult content, and detailed description of information related to titles. Furthermore, the study highlighted the need for establishing standardized metadata requirements and continuous data quality management and monitoring systems.

Objectives: This study was a review of the literature published on the efficacy of Rehmanniae Radix to obtain information to provide both a foundation for its clinical use and directions for future studies. Methods: This study selected 30 publications registered to databases or published in Korea by March 13, 2017, by searching electronic journal databases, i.e., NDSL, OASIS, RISS, and KISS, in order to review the efficacy of Rehmanniae Radix. The search was conducted using the keywords '生地黃', '鮮地黃', 'Rehmannia Glutinosa', and 'Rehmanniae Radix', and the search results were compiled and analyzed. Results: The selected publications included antioxidant effects (12 publications), data involving blood glucose reduction (4 publications), effects on the autonomic nervous system (3 publications), and effects on the human body (11 publications). Conclusion:The results of this literature review indicate that Rehmanniae Radix is effective in treating patients with various inflammatory and metabolic diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Based on these results, we believe that Rehmanniae Radix can be used effectively to treat patients with such diseases.

Legal deposit system is an important legal instrument for national libraries. But the law or act based on print materials in many countries predates the current information age and requires a new legal framework in order to encompass electronic publications. Many national libraries, therefore, are seeking to encourage their governments to establish legal deposit for publications in the whole range of formats. The purpose of this paper is to analyse a world-wide trends of the legal deposit system for on-line publications as well as off-line materials. The result of this analysis will be used to develop a new model of legal deposit system in Korea.

Recently, the automotive industry has been introduced to ISO 26262 in November 2011 to address the necessity of safety risk from sensor to actuator by providing guidance in the form of requirements and processes. The malfunctioning behaviour of these systems could have significant impact on the safety of humans and/or the environment. Most of the modern automobiles are equipped with embedded electronic systems which include lots of Electronic Controller Units (ECUs), electronic sensors, signals, bus systems and coding. Due to the complex application in electrical, electronics and programmable electronics, the need to carry out detailed safety analyses which focuses on the potential risk of malfunction is crucial for automotive systems. In this paper, the international trends on pre and post introduction of ISO 26262 through publications will be analyzed as well as to take a glimpse in the activities for implementing this standard by the automotive manufacturers. The issues and challenges which have been occurring from implementing this standard also will be highlighted.

With the advent of electronic publications, the cataloger is no longer providing access to just the library's archives. This paper intends to describe the concepts, types and characteristics of electronic information resources, and to review some projects and issues related to the cataloging of remote electronic resources, especially field 856(electronic location and access) in the USMARC. In an electronic world, organization occurs in whatever way is needed to provide quick and thorough access to information objects, regardless of physical constraint. Given the issues, it is obvious that cataloging in the electronic world can no longer be done the same as it has been in the past. We must ask ourselves what we want to see in the future of cataloging and what the acceptable norm of organization for the electronic world is if not cataloging as usual.

This study analyzed the legal deposit, acquisition, and donation status from 2020 to 2022, along with the deposit status of e-publications with issued ISBNs. Through this analysis, the study derived improvement measures to strengthen compliance with legal deposit obligations for domestic e-publications. The key findings are as follows: The collection methods were acquisition (57.07%), legal deposit (41.74%), and donation (1.19%). The file formats varied, including e-books (pdf, epub), webtoons (jpg), and audiobooks (mp3). Most e-publications collected were published from 2012 to 2022, with some from 1960 to 2011. Webtoons dominated acquired materials, while legal deposits mainly comprised e-books. Analyzing the status of e-publications with issued ISBNs, e-books (96.2%) were most common, with the literature field receiving the highest number of ISBNs. Most ISBNs were issued during 2020 to 2022. Looking at the top 10 publishers, the low legal deposit rate indicates the need for improvement. To address this, proposed improvement measures include enhancing publishers' awareness of legal deposits, strengthening incentives and sanctions, encouraging voluntary participation through transparent disclosure of the legal deposit status, and improving the accuracy of data in the ISBN issuance and deposit system.

Background: Oral cancer is the most common cancer among men and second only to breast cancer among women in Pakistan. For the effective control and prevention of oral cancer, Pakistan needs to recognize the importance of research and generation of the evidence-base which can inform policy making and planning and implementation of intervention programs. The objective of this review was to quantify oral cancer research output in Pakistan. Materials and Methods: A systematic electronic search in "Medline", "ISI-Web of Science" and "Pakmedinet", supplemented by a Google search, was carried out in January and February, 2014, to identify literature from Pakistan relevant to oral cancer. The selection of publications for the review was carried out according to preset criteria. Data were recorded and analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Results: A total of 166 publications comprising 62 case series, 36 cross sectional, 31 case control, 10 basic laboratory research, eleven reviews and two trials, were included in this review. Some 35 % of the publications focused on risk factors for oral cancer. COMSATS Institute of Information Technology was the institution with the highest contribution. Conclusions: There is a lack of research in the field of oral cancer research in Pakistan. Focused efforts should be put in place to improve both quality and quantity of oral cancer research in the country.
