  • Energy distribution function for electrons in $SF_6+Ar$ mixtures gas used by MCS-BEq algorithm has been analysed over the E/N range 30 ~ 300[Td] by a two term Boltzmann equation and by a Monte Carlo Simulation using a set of electron cross sections determined by other authors, experimentally the electron swarm parameters for 0.2[%] and 0.5[%] $SF_6+Ar$ mixtures were measured by time-of-flight(TOF) method, The results show that the deduced electron drift velocities, the electron ionization or attachment coefficients, longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients and mean energy agree reasonably well with theoretical for a rang of E/N values. The results obtained from Boltzmann equation method and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with present and previously obtained data and respective set of electron collision cross sections of the molecules.

  • A compact electron cyclotron resonance(ECR) plasma system composed of a microwave generator and a magnet coil was fabricated. A Langmuir single probe was used to investigate the plasma characteristics of the system through I-V measurements. The performance of the compact ECR plasma system was tested for the case of silicon etching reaction with $CF_{4}/O_{2}$(30%) mixed gas. Electron density and etch rate increased to maximum values and then decreased with increasing argon gas pressure, but electron temperature changed in the opposite way. The electron density and the electron temperature of argon gas plasma were 0.85${\times}~5.5{\times}10^{10}cm^{-3}$ and 4.5~6.0 eV, respectively, in the pressure range from $3{\times}10^{4}$ to 0.05Torr. The etch rate reached a maximum value at the position of 2.5cm from the bottom of plasma cavity. Etch rate uniformity was $\pm$6% across 6cm wafer. Anisotropic index was 0.75 at 1.5${\times}10^{-4}$Torr.

  • The electron transport coefficients in Air is analysed in range of E/N values from 100~1000(Td) by a MCS and BE method. This paper have calculated W, $ND_L$,$ ND_T$, Mean energy mixtures by $N_2+O_2$. The results gained that the values of the electron swarm parameters such as the electron drift velocity, longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients.

  • In this work, we propose a single electron memory 'SEM' design which consist of two key blocs: A memory bloc, with a voltage source $V_{Mem}$, a pure capacitor connected to a tunnel junction through a metallic memory node coupled to the second bloc which is a Single Electron Transistor "SET" through a coupling capacitance. The "SET" detects the potential variation of the memory node by the injection of electrons one by one in which the drainsource current is presented during the memory charge and discharge phases. We verify the design of the SET/SEM cell by the SIMON tool. Finally, we have developed a MAPLE code to predict the retention time and nonvolatility of various SEM structures with a wide operating temperature range.

  • In this paper, the electron transport characteristics in $CF_4$ has been analysed over the E/N range 1~300[Td] by a two-tenn approximation Boltzmann equation method and by a Monte Carlo simulation. The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity, longitudinal diffusion coefficient, the ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the mobility, electron ionization and attachment coefficients, effective ionization coefficient, mean energy, collision frequency and the electron energy distribution function. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to serve as a critical test of current theories of low energy electron scattering by atoms and molecules, in particular, as well as crucial information for quantitative simulations of weakly ionized plasmas.

  • We measured the electron transport coefficients, the electron drift velocity W and the longitudinal diffusion coefficient $D_{L}$ in the 0.526% and 5.05% $C_{3}F_{8}$-Ar mixtures over the E/N range from 0.01 Td to 100 Td by the double shutter drift tube, and compared the measured results by Hunter et al. with those. We determined the inelastic collision cross sections for the $C_{3}F_{8}$ molecule by the comparison of the present measurements and the calculation of electron transport coefficients in the $C_{3}F_{8}$-Ar mixtures by using a multi-term Boltzmann equation analysis.

  • Carbon has numerous allotropes and various crystalline forms with full dimensionalities such as diamond, graphite, fullerenes, and carbon nanotubes leading a wide range of applications. Since the emerge of graphene consisting of a single atomic layer of carbon atoms, a fabrication of all-carbon-based device with combination of one-, two-, and three-dimensional carbons has become a hot issue. Here, we introduce an ultimate one-dimensional carbon atomic chain. Carbon atomic chains were experimentally created by removing atoms from monolayer graphene sheet under electron beam inside transmission electron microscope (TEM). A series of TEM images demonstrate the dynamics of carbon atomic chains over time from the formation, transformation, and then breakage.

The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in $CF_4$ at E/N=5, 10, 100, 200 and 300[Td] for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy and respective set of electron collision cross sections. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Y. Nakamura and M. Hayashi. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to serve as a critical test of current theories of low energy electron scattering by atoms and molecules, in particular, as well as crucial information for quantitative simulations of weakly ionized plasmas.
