Structure and Dielectric Properties of PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics (PMN-PNN-PZT 세라믹스의 구조 및 유전특성)

  • In this study, the structural, dielectric and piezielectric properities of $xPb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-(0.5-x)Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.5Pb(Zr_{0.3}Ti_{0.7})O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the substitution of $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$. The results showed that the substitution of the $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$ was effective in increasing the dielectric constant and electromechanical coupling factor $(K_p)$. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and Kp showed the highest values of 4293, 2.4%, 0.59 relatively, when the substitution of amount of $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$ was 5 mol%.

  • Dense $ Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3(PZT)/Al_2O_3$ nanocomposites were prepared by the 28 GHz microwave heating method and conventional electric furnace sintering. Electrical and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The fracture strength of the PZT composites with 0.1vol% $Al_2O_3$ was significantly improved in both sintering methods. Smaller grain size and effective reinforcement of the PZT matrix by the second phase were considered to be responsible for the excellent fracture strength. Planar electromechanical coupling factor Kp of the composites sintered by 28GHz microwave heating was higher than that of the materical prepared by the conventional route. It seemed that the control of the reaction between PZT and $Al_2O_3$ by the microwave rapid sintering resulted in the high piezoelectric properties.

  • In this study, in order to develop the multilayer piezoelectric actuator and ultrasonic resonator, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated by the variations of ball size at sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated as a function of the variations of ball size. When the ball size was 3mm$\phi$, density, dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}r)$, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) and piezoelectric d constant$(d_{33})$ were increased. At the ball size of 3mm$\phi$, the specimen showed the optimum values of density=7.909g/$cm^3$, kp=0.592, Qm=1292, $d_{33}$=368pC/N, $\varepsioln_r$=1502, respectively.

  • 0.03Pb$(Sb_{0.5}Nb_{0.5})O_{3}-0.03Pb(Mn{1/3}Nb{2/3)O_{3}-(0.94-x)PbTiO_{3}-xPbZrO_{3}$ ceramics doped with $CeO_{2}$ were synthesized by conventional bulk ceramic processing technique. Phases analysis, microstructures and piezoelectric properties were investigated as a function of $CeO_{2}$ content (0.03, 0.05, 0.1 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 wt%). Microstructures and phases information were characterized using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Mechanical quality factor ($Q_{m}$) and coupling factor(kp) were obtained from the resonance measurement method. Both $Q_{m}$ and $k_{p}$ were shown to reach to the maximum at 0.1 wt% $CeO_{2}$. In order to evaluate the stability of resonance frequency and effective electromechanical coupling factor ($K_{eff}$) as a function of $CeO_{2}$, the variation of resonance and anti-resonance frequency were also measured using a high voltage frequency response analyzer under various alternating electric fields from 10 V/mm to 80 V/mm. It was shown that the stability of resonance frequency and effective electromechanical coupling factor were increased with increasing the $CeO_{2}$ contents.

  • In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for ultrasonic vibrator, PNW-PMN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured with the amount of $CaCO_3$ addition and their piezoelectric, dielectric and microstructural characteristics were investigated. $CaCO_3$ addition to PNW-PMN-PZT basic composition was proved to be capable of sintering the ceramics at temperature below $1000^{\circ}C$ due to the effect of $Li_2CO_3-CaCO_3$ liquid phase. However, with increasing the amount of $CaCO_3$ addition, the second phase was appeared. As the results, electromechanical coupling coefficient (kp) and dielectric constant $(\epsilon_r)$ decreased. Taking into consideration electromechanical coupling coefficient (kp) of 0.49, mechanical quality factor (Qm) of 1396, dielectric constant $(\epsilon_r)$ of 1300 and density of $7.78[g/cm^2]$, it was concluded that the 0.25wt% $CaCO_3$ addition composition ceramics sintered at $920^{\circ}C$ was suitable for ultrasonic vibrator application.

KCT첨가에 따른 $(Na,K)NbO_3$ 세라믹스의 압전특성

  • In this study, in order to develop excellent lead-free composition ceramics for piezoelectric transformer, $(K_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29})$ added $(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5}](Nb_{0.97}Sb_{0.03})O_3$ were fabricated using conventional mixed oxide method. At the 0.9mol% KCT added specimen, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) and mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) showed the optimal values of 0.437 and 727.07, respectively, for piezoelectric transformer application.

  • In this study,microstructure and piezoelectric characteristics of PNW-PMN-PZT ceramics manufactured using attrition milling method were investigated. Sintering temperature of the ceramics was varied from $1180^{\circ}C$ to $1240^{\circ}C$.With increasing sintering temperature, dielectric constant was increased. In the specimen sintered at $1120^{\circ}C$,electromechanical coupling factor(Kp) and density showed the maxinum values of 0.546 and $7.78(g/cm^{3})$, respectively. In the specimen sintered at $1160^{\circ}C$,mechanical quality factor(Qm) also showed the maxinum value of 1,943.

  • In this study, in order to improve the electrical properties of low temperature sintering piezoelectric ceramics, $[0.05Pb(Zn_{1/2}W_{1/2})-0.07Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})-0.088Pb(Zr_{0.48}Ti_{0.52})]O_3$(abbreviated as PZW-PMN-PZT) ceramic systems were fabricated using $Bi_2O_3$, CuO and $Li_2CO_3$ as sintering aids and then their piezoelectric and dielectric properties were investigated according to the amount of $Li_2CO_3$ and post-annealing process. Post-annealing process enhanced all physical properties except for mechanical quality factor (Qm). 0.2 wt% $Li_2CO_3$ added and post-annealed specimen showed the excellent values suitable for low loss piezoelectric actuator application as follow: the density = 7.86 $g/cm^3$ electromechanical coupling factor (kp) = 0.575, piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ = 370 pC/N, dielectric constant ($\varepsilon_r$) = 1546, and mechanical quality factor (Qm) = 1161, respectively.

  • In this study, to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for piezoelectric transformer, PSN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured as a function of V$_2$O$_{5}$ addition, that is the low melting point oxide. Its dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics were investigated. With increasing the amount of V$_2$O$_{5}$ addition, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) and mechanical quality factor(Qm) were decreased. For piezoelectric transformer application, the 0.1wt% V$_2$O$_{5}$ added specimen sintered at 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ showed the proper value of $\varepsilon$r=1,590, kp=0.51 and Qm=748.m=748.

  • In this study, to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for piezoelectric transformer, PSN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured as a function of $MnO_2$ addition. Its dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics were investigated. With increasing the amount of $MnO_2$ addition, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) were increased until 0.3wt% $MnO_2$ and that after decreased. mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed the maxinum value at 0.5wt% $MnO_2$. For piezoelectric transformer application, the 0.5wt% $MnO_2$ added specimen sintered at $1,000^{\circ}C$ showed the proper value of ${\varepsilon}r$= 1,646, kp=0.55 and Qm=439.
