고속 성형 공정의 바운싱 현상을 줄이기 위한 액중 방전 성형의 해석적 연구 (Numerical Study of Electrohydraulic Forming to Reduce the Bouncing in High Speed Forming Process)

  • High-speed forming process is the forming technology that deforms the blank in a very short time, with the strain rate of the blank above 1000 s−1. Among many high-speed forming processes, electromagnetic forming (EMF) employs the Lorentz force when deforms the blank. Because of the high strain rate, the formability of the blank can be improved. However, when the blank is formed into rather complex shapes, it is bounced from the die and the wrinkles are generated. Therefore, electrohydraulic forming (EHF) is suggested in this study to reduce the bouncing problem of the blank. EHF is a high-speed forming that uses high voltage discharge in liquid. The shockwave resulting from the electric discharge propagates to the blank and it deforms the blank into the die. In this study, two high-speed forming processes, EMF and EHF were compared numerically with trapezoidal middle block die. This comparison showed that EMF cannot deform the blank into the die because of the bouncing, while EHF can overcome the bouncing problem and deform the blank into the die shape successfully.

  • 본 연구에서는 자기장의 상호작용을 고려해야 하며 본 연구에서는 유한요소법 을 이용하여 전자기장 해석을 함으로써 이 문제를 해결하였다. 또한 여기서 계산된 자기압력을 이용하여 피가공재의 동적변형 거동을 유한요소법으로 해석하였다.

  • Electromagnetic Pulse Forming is the one of the high velocity forming method. When the electric energy which is charged in the capacitor bank is suddenly discharged into the electromagnetic coil, the high magnetic field occurs at the airgap between the electromagnetic coil and workpiece. Thus we can obtain the high electromagnetic pressure, which is proportional to the square of magnetic flux density. This is the basic principle of the electromagnetic pulse forming. In this paper, the equivalent L-R-C circuit is derived by computing the magnetic field and its loss of the total system. Thus, the values of the magnetic flux density and pressure can be obtained from the equation of this circuit. As a result, the computed and measured values of the maximum magnetic flux density and pressure are compared and the characteristics of the tapered field shaper are further discussed as follows; 1) The strength of magnetic flux density and pressure can be controlled by the charged energy and the size of the airgap between the inner field shaper and the workpiece. 2) During the design of the tapered field shaper, the penetration of the magnetic flux through the sharp edge should be considered.

  • Electromagnetic forming (EMF) simulations consider 3-dimensionally coupled electromagnetic-mechanical phenomenon using LS-DYNA, therefore the calculation cost is normally expensive. In this study, a sensitivity analysis in regard to the simulation variables affecting the calculation time was carried out. The EMF experiments were conducted to form an elliptically protruding shape on a high-strength steel sheet, and it was predicted using LS-DYNA simulation. In this particular EMF simulation case, the effect of several simulation variables, viz., element size, contact condition, EM-time step interval, and re-calculation number of the EM matrices, on the shape of elliptical protrusion and the total calculation time was analyzed. As a result, reasonable values of the simulation variables between the simulation precision and calculation time were proposed, and the EMF experiments with respect to the charging voltages were successfully predicted.

  • 자기 펄스 성형장치란, 고강도 자기장을 이용하는 소성가공법이다. 자기 펄스 설형장치는 기존의 프레스 공정에 비해 가공 후 성형품의 표면 품질이 좋고 공정이 단순하며 가공속도가 높아 가공시간이 매우 짧은 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자기 펄스 성형장치의 각각 변수들이 성형력에 미치는 영향력을 분석하기 위해 파라미터 연구를 수행하였다. 자기 펄스 성형장치의 각각 변수들은 인가전압, 캐패시터 용량, 코일의 턴 수로 나누어 지며, 각각의 변수들이 성형압력에 미치는 영향력을 분석하는데 상용전자기 해석 프로그램인 MAXWELL을 이용하였다.

  • Recently, there has been a trend in the manufacturing process to focus on the durability of cable lug joint, especially in welding process due to the poor cable lug joint causes many troubles on products and workers during manufacturing process. Therefore development of high quality cable lug joint is important for successful manufacturing process and safety of worker. The Magnetic Pulse Forming(MPF) is one of efficient way to developed a high quality cable lug joint. In MPF, a high strain rate forming process, utilizes a high velocity oblique collision on the workpiece to be formed in required shape. The objective of this paper is to develop of high quality cable lug joint using electromagnetic force. To successfully accomplish this goal, section and electrical contact temperature of developed cable lug joint has been compared with various cable lug joint. Electrical contact temperature of developed cable lug joint by electromagnetic force is lower than manufactured cable lug joint by pressurer and hydraulic pressurer.

  • The microstructure and mechanical properties of rheocast A356 aluminum alloy by electromagnetic stirring are studied. In the electromagnetic stirring, main parameters are stirring current and stirring time. Stirring current is ranged from 0 A to 60 A, and stirring time is 20, 40, and 60 sec. In the rheocasting, injection velocity and applied pressure are changed. In this paper, the effect of stirring current and stirring time on the morphology and mechanical properties are investigated and analyzed.

  • This paper is concerned with the design of the beam forming module that is a key unit of the active phased array antenna(APAA) system for mobile satellite communications. This module includes two blocks for main signal and tracking signal. Main signal block has the role of transmitting input signal from phased away antenna to tracking signal block. And, tracking signal block executes main roles, beam forming of tracking signal and electronic beam control. The several electrical performances of this module, phase characteristics and linear gain, etc., agreed with specifications needed for APAA, and for more clear verification of the performances, the satellite communication test of the APAA including the modules was accomplished in the outdoors.

  • The semi-solid process has been developed near net-shape components for kinds of methods. Thixo-forming with reheating prepared billet and rheo-forming with cooled melt until semi-solid state. Material is applied electromagnetic stirring system to slurry with aluminum 6061 alloy. An experiment has variation factors which are pressure, solid-fraction, stirring current and stirring time. The mechanical properties are compared to forge sample with to apply heat treatment T6. This study is researched function a virtual pressure and fine shape zone. Optimum pressure is found to prevent defect of porosity.

  • 본 논문은 이동 위성통신을 위한 능동위상배열 안테나 시스템의 주요 부품 중의 하나인 빔 성형모듈 설계에 관하여 서술한다. 본 모듈은 주 신호 및 추적신호를 위한 두 개의 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 이중, 주 신호블록은 위상배열 안테나로부터 입력된 신호전력을 추적신호 블록으로 전송하는 역할을 수행하며, 추적신호 블록은 능동위상배열 안테나 시스템의 주요 기능인 추적신호의 빔 성형과 전자적 빔 제어기능을 수행한다. 또한, 본 모듈은 위상특성 및 선형이득 등의 시스템에서 요구되는 전기적 사양을 만족하며, 해당 성능의 보다 면밀한 검증을 위하여, 제작된 빔 성형모듈을 장착한 능동위상배열 안테나 시스템을 이용하여 야외구동시험을 수행하였다.
