Lightning surge current analysts of electrical equipment using EMTP in changing volume (EMTP틀 이용한 체적 변화에 따른 전기 설비의 surge current 해석)

  • 전력계통의 과도현상 분석용으로 개발된 수치계산 프로그램인 EMTP ( Electromagnetic Transient Program)를 사용하여 건물내에 낙뢰에 의한 뇌서지가 침입했을 때 건물 전체에 surge current가 어떻게 확산되어 가는지를 분석해 본다. 이러한 현상을 분석하기 위해서 건물의 등가회로를 ${\pi}$-회로로 구현하고, ANSI 규격에 맞는 뇌서지를 건물에 유입시켜서 그에 따른 건물 내부의 current 분포를 알아본다. 그리고, 건물 체적을 변화시켜 가면서 뇌 서지가 건물 내부의 전기기기에 미치는 영향을 해석해 본다.

  • 기존의 Gap switch를 이용한 Marx generator는 트리거-펄스 발생회로가 따로 필요하여 복잡한 구조를 가질 뿐만 아니라, 스위치의 짧은 수명과 스위치 내부의 스파크전류의 Jitter 현상, 그리고 순차적인 스위치 turn-on과 스위치 내외부의 인덕턴스로 인한 전압 상승시간의 지연 등의 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점들을 해결하기 위해 기존의 Gap switch대신 전력용 반도체 소자인 IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) 스위치를 이용한 Marx generator를 제안하고, 제안된 회로의 동작을 구현하기 위해 전력계통용 전자기과도현상 해석프로그램인 EMTP(Electromagnetic Transient Program)를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하여 IGBT스위치가 이상적인 동작을 할 때 얻어지는 이점을 알아보기로 한다.

  • A de-wiring trolley wire usually makes the electrical system complex and may have an adverse effect on the electrical system inside the train. It is important to analyze the effect on trains in de-wiring trolley wire. we accomplished an equivalent model of the electric train system. We used PSCAD/EMTDC, an electromagnetic transient program. The result of this study can be used as a facility design to use a power conversion system filter and needs to prove through actual field data in the main circuit of an electric train for a precise analysis about effect of de-wiring.

  • This paper describes the analysis resulates on the P.T ferroresonance at 154kV GIS(Gas Insulated Substation) by EMTP(Electromagnetic transient program). We had simulated the PT ferroresonance between a potential transformer(PT) and open circuit braker's grading capacitance. The ferroresonance leads to very large power frequency overvoltage on PT bus and subsequent insulation failure. The damping circuit connected on the secondary winding were considered in the model. The actual countermeasure include a saturable inductor and a resistor series mounted, but the 2 ohms of damping resistance was used in the computational model.

  • Fault currents characteristics contain decaying DC offset. First cycle peak value of fault currents is higher than steady-state fault current value. These characteristics can affect the operation of protective device. To reduce the asymmetric fault current, the method using a series connection of two hybrid-type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter(SFCL) components, an auxiliary SFCL and a main SFCL, has been proposed. The auxiliary SFCL limits the first half cycle fault current, while main SFCL limits the steady state fault currents. This paper proposed a decision method of the optimal insertion resistance of auxiliary and main SFCL components. To verify the effectiveness of proposed scheme, the various simulations are performed by using Electromagnetic Transient Program(EMTP).

  • Recently, electricity consumption has rapidly increased along with economic growth. The operating strategy using emergency generator is aimed, to resolve a demand response management. For strategy of peak shedding using emergency generator, it is essential to introduce the fast transfer switching device. One of the most effective solutions is to use a static transfer switch (STS) based on thyristor. However, the characteristic of natural commutated SCR thyristor should anticipate short duration voltage sag. STS system thus requires more than a quarter cycle to successfully complete transfer process. This paper proposes the operation scheme of the STS system using the forced-commutation technique to mitigate instantaneous voltage sag during peak transfer process. Proposed STS system improved turn-off characteristic thus accomplishes the peak load shedding satisfied power quality. Performance of the proposed STS system is evaluated using electromagnetic transient program (EMTP) to confirm the effectiveness.

  • A probabilistic model to analyze surge voltage waves on a transmission conductor caused by lightning, strokes striking a transmission line tower has been proposed. In this proposed model, a probability apace has been constructed. Based on the constructed probability space, random variables denoting the voltage peaks, time to crest, and time to half have been generated. To know the statistics of surge voltage waves, it suffices to find out the cumulative probability distributions of these random variables. A illustrative numerical example to find out out the distributions of the random variables has been carried out using the Electromagnetic Transient Program(EMTP).

  • This paper describes an improved analysis method for sheath circulating current on three-underground transmission cables using EMTP(Electromagnetic Transient Program). Author studied diversely the sheath circulating current on three-underground cables depending on the various length rate, the phase arrangement, and the grounding resistance of the sheath in the cross-bonded section. It was clear that very large circulating current is generated in cable systems due to unbalanced length rate and phase arrangement in the cross-bonded section. The analysing method for two or more underground cables will be really Improved for cable system utility.
