  • This paper deals with analysis of complex grounding system using electromagnetic simulation method. Electrical devices could be damaged by transient voltage such as a lightning surge. Therefore the measures to protect the equipments from transient, such as a lightning are required. The ground system is important in this respect. The representative parameter of grounding system performance is earth ground resistance. Precise prediction of earth resistance is required, because it is difficult to modify and change after the completion of the grounding system construction. Numerical modeling is often used in numerical analysis to identify the electrical characteristics of the grounding system. However complex systems are difficult to predict grounding characteristics by numerical analysis. If the total electric field of the earth in general is similar to the antenna model, in that the incident electric field and expressed as a sum of the scattering field. In this study, the electromagnetic field simulation tool "ANSYS HFSS" module containing the antenna model was used to analyze performance of ground system. Both the simple and complex grounding system were analyzed by simulation tool and experimental method. As a result simulation method is effective to predict performance of a complex ground system.

  • The influence of fluorescence, scattering, and absorbance in turbid material by light scattering was interpreted by the scattered fluorescence intensity and wavelength. The effect of optical property in scattering media was investigated. It is very important to study the charge coupled device(CCD) in spectrometry because we can use the molecular energy level, molecular structure, absorption or emission, intermolecular reaction, weakly bound molecular energy, photochemistry, fluorescence and photodynamic therapy. CCD is very essential to study the molecular structure and medical engineering combined laser spectroscopy in the modem physical and chemistry. Accordingly, this study has designed and manufactured the electromagnetic spectrometry with CCD, and has analyzed the hematoporphyrin derivative.

  • In this paper, a stable marching-on in time(MOT) method with a time domain combined field integral equation(CFIE) is presented to obtain the transient scattering response from arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional conducting bodies. This formulation is based on a linear combination of the time domain electric field integral equation(EFIE) with the magnetic field integral equation(MFIE). The time derivatives in the EFIE and MFIE are approximated using a central finite difference scheme and other terms are averaged over time. This time domain CFIE approach produces results that are accurate and stable when solving for transient scattering responses from conducting objects. Numerical results with the proposed MOT scheme are presented and compared with those obtained from the conventional method and the inverse discrete Fourier transform(IDFT) of the frequency domain CFIE solution.

  • In this paper, the solutions of TE (transverse electric) scattering problems by a conductive strip grating over grounded two dielectric layers are analyzed by applying the PMM (point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, the scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions, and the conductive boundary condition apply to analysis of conducting strip. The most normalized reflected powers of the sharp variations in minimum values are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle. The numerical results for normalized reflected power are analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of the two dielectric layers, and incident angles. The numerical results of present numericl analysis are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers using FGMM (fourier galerkin moment method).

The most normalized reflected powers of the sharp variations in minimum values are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle. Generally, in the case of numerical analysis except for reflection and transmission power in free space, as the dielectric constants of the double dielectric layer increases, the reflected power increases and the transmitted power decreases relatively, respectively. The numerical results for the presented structure of this paper having a grounded double dielectric layer are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

  • In this paper, TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a resistive strip grating between a double dielectric layer are analyzed by using the FGMM(fourier galerkin moment method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, the scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions, and the resistive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the resistive strip. In order to deal with the problem of the double dielectric layer, numerical calculation was performed only when the thickness and relative permittivity of the dielectric layers had the same value. Overall, as the resistivity of the uniform resistivity increased, the current density induced in the resistive strip decreased, the reflected power decreased, and the transmitted power relatively increased. The numerical results of the structure proposed in this paper are shown in good agreement compared to the results of PMM, a numerical analysis method of the existing paper.

  • In this paper, when a E-polarized plane wave is incident on the grating consisting of tapered resistive strips, electromagnetic scattering is analyzed using the method of moments(MoM). The induced current density of each resistive strip in a grounded double dielectric layer is expected to blow up at both edges. To satisfy this, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for several resistivities are obtained.

  • An electromagnetic boundary-value problem of a tapered rectangular waveguide is rigorously solved based on eigenfunction expansion and the mode-matching method. Scattering parameters of the tapered rectangular waveguide are represented in a series form and calculated in terms of different rectangular waveguide combinations. Computation is performed to analyze reflection and transmission characteristics. Conductor loss by surface current density is also calculated and discussed.

  • In this paper, a numerical method to be obtain the radar cross section(RCS) of three- dimensional bodies with arbitrary geometry and material compositions on the electromagnetic field with arbitrary incident angle is described. The RCS is obtained by solving the individual surface integral equation about multilayers scatterer using the three-dimensional bonudary element method(BEM). To show propriety and usefulness as to the three-dimensional BEM in this paper, the choice of a geometry is a multi-regular hexahedron and multi-right-angled hexahedron out of oblique incident electric field, and is considered to apply to every condition with loss sufficiently.
