This paper deals with the coupled electromagnetic-mechanical field analysis for short-circuit electromagnetic force of the dry-type transformer. The short-circuit currents are calculated using external circuit in accordance with short-circuit test equipment. According to short-circuit current, the generated magnetic leakage flux density in dry-type transformer model is calculated by finite element method. The radially-directed electromagnetic forces in windings are calculated using electromagnetic field analysis and then axially-directed electromagnetic forces in windings are calculated using electromagnetic-mechanical field analysis. The calculated axially-directed electromagnetic forces in high voltage winding are compared to those of measured ones and showed good agreement with experimental results.
In this paper electromagnetic topology (EMT) is used to analyze the lumped components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). It is difficult to obtain desirable results about the electromagnetic coupling problems by using a numerical or an experimental method on complex systems. The EMT can be considered as a helpful method to the analysis of electromagnetic interference / electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) problems in the complex system. To verify the validity of this method, three types of the PCBs mounting a simple circuit are fabricated and experimented.
Marine controlled-source electromagnetic transmitters (MCSETs) are important in marine electromagnetic exploration systems. They play a crucial role in the exploration of solid mineral resources, marine oil, and gas and in marine engineering evaluation. A DC-DC controlled-source circuit is typically used in traditional MCSETs, but using this circuit in MCSETs causes several problems, such as large voltage ringing of the high-frequency diode, heating of the insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module, high temperature of the high-frequency transformer, loss of the duty cycle, and low transmission efficiency of the controlled-source circuit. This paper presents a clamping-diode circuit for MCSET (CDC-MCSET). Clamping diodes are added to the controlled-source circuit to reduce the loss of the duty ratio and the voltage peak of the high-frequency diode. The temperature of the high-frequency diode, IGBT module, and transformer is decreased, and the service life of these devices is prolonged. The power transmission efficiency of the controlled-source circuit is also improved. Saber simulation and a 20 KW MCSET are used to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed CDC-MCSET.
Even though underground transmission cable is an essential transmission method to supply stable power for downtown and population center, the interaction of electromagnetic force by fault current is very large comparing to overhead transmission line due to restricted installation space such as tunnel, and close consideration is required for it. This paper presents countermeasures to reduce and release the effect of electromagnetic force with rope binding and installation of spacer and describes its efficacy through three phase short-circuit test, which will be utilized as basic materials for improvement and development of cleat, hanger, etc. to reduce and release effect of electromagnetic force in the future.
It has been generally known that the chattering of an AC electromagnetic contactor due to the fluctuation of attracting force is the primary cause of its abrasion and noise. To reduce this chattering effect, an AC electromagnetic contactor is mostly fitted with a shading coil which works the role to make difference in phases of two distinct components of attracting force. The theoretical interpretation of an AC electromagnetic contactor with shading coil and the equation of its attracting force per unit wattage consumed have already been proposed, however, few explications so far have been made on the determination of optimal circuit constants of shading coil. In this paper, the auther constructs a circuit model of an AC electromagnetic contactor with shading coil which is based on the theoretical interpretation of shading coil examined to be valid by experiments under some assumptions, and defines the equation of attracting force without chattering per unit wattage consumed as a performance function for determining the optimal circuit constants of shading coil. And then, the optimal circuit constants maximizing the performance function are determined by means of computer simulation founded on the above circuit model and the characteristics of those circuit constants are examined with special attention to the coupling coefficient.

This paper examines various aspects of the electromagnetic responses of the ring resonator located in the transverse electromagnetic cell. In addition, an equivalent circuit for the ring resonator is proposed and analyzed based on the electromagnetic phenomenon of the resonator. The equivalent circuit was simply modeled based on the concept of magnetization. A method for achieving a wider operating bandwidth of the negative permeability is provided. The ring resonator with its resonant frequency of 13.56 MHz was designed and its characteristics were examined in terms of S-parameters, effective permeability, loss rate, bandwidth, etc. The circuit and electromagnetic simulation results show an excellent agreement as well as that of theory.
This paper deals with analysis on dynamic characteristic and circuit parameter of linear switched reluctance motor by electromagnetic analytical method. Above all, using space harmonic method, which is electromagnetic method, the air-gap flux density is analyzed in the both align and unaign positions, and the inductance profile, force characteristic and resistance per phase are calculated by means of the process. The validity of the analyzed results are demonstrated by the finite element method(FEM) and manufacture of the prototype machine. Second, the dynamic simulation is analyzed by the use of circuit parameters derived from analytical method, and the operating system of the prototype machine is manufactured to demonstrated the validity of simulation analysis. As a result, it is considered that the characteristic equation suggested in this paper will contribute to the design, analysis and application of LSRM.

In this paper, PBG structure and feedforward circuit has been used to suppress the phase noise of the oscillator. Microstrip line resonator have low Q, but we can obtain high LO power by feedforward circuit and improve the resonator Q by the PBG, simultaneously. The proposed oscillator which uses PBG and feedforward circuit shows 0${\~}$20 dB phase noise reduction compared to the conventional oscillator. We have obtained -115.8 dBc of phase noise at 100 kHz offset from 2.4 GHz center.

In this paper, electromagnetic topology (EMT) was used to analyze the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of RF circuits including passive and active components. It is difficult to obtain usable results for problems relating to electromagnetic coupling in complex systems when using conventional numerical or experimental methods. Thus it is necessary to find a new methodology for analyzing EMC problems in complicated electromagnetic environments. In order to consider the nonlinear characteristics of active components, a SPICE diode model was used. A power detector circuit and the receiver circuit of a radio control (RC) car were analyzed and experimented in order to verify the validity of this method.
In this paper, we present an analysis of dynamic characteristics of an electromagnetic actuator for circuit breakers. It is indispensable to simultaneously analyze magnetic, electric, and mechanical phenomena to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the electromagnetic actuator because these phenomena are closely related to each other in an electromagnetic actuator system. The magnetic equations are computed by using the finite element method (FEM). The electric equations and the mechanical equations, which include the time derivative terms, are calculated by using the time difference method (TDM). The calculated results, which have been obtained by means of the FEM and the TDM, are presented with experimental data.
