  • Acoustic noise and vibration of a BLDC motor is a coupled phenomenon between mechanical characteristics and electromagnetic origins through the motor air-gap. When a relative misalignment of rotor in the air-gap center exists on the assemblage, it is considered to influence the motor system characteristics. In this paper, the back electro motive force(BEMF) is analyzed by Finite Element Method(FEM) and verified by experiments for the SPM and IPM type motors. For magnetic field analysis, a FEM is used to account for the magnetic saturation. Using these results, the FEM is made to determine the appropriate electromagnetic field analysis in BLDC motors with rotor eccentricity ratio. A radial magnetic imbalance force of BLDC motor with rotor eccentricity is analyzed. Results demonstrate that the imbalance force is increased according to the degree of misalignment. An IPM motor, mostly chosen to realize high-speed operation, shows a worse effect on magnetic unbalanced forces and dynamic responses compared with SPM motor due to magnetic saturation when the rotor eccentricity exists.

  • The single transformer appeared the electro-magnetic force must be constructed to support it. it must construct the single transformer to supporting the electro-magnetic force appeared by the cut-off current. the problem is that the electro-magnetic occurs the modification of the single transformer and an serious accident. In the case of the molding-transformer, the part of the molding cast used in the construction occurs the crack, because of the strong force. therefore, in this paper, the molding material used in the molding-transformer is settled by comparing the results from commercial soft ware of F.E.M and a out-equipment circuit.

  • The MIAB welding uses a rotating arc as its heat source and is known as an efficient method fur pipe butt welding. The arc is rotated around the weld line by the electro-magnetic force resulting from the interaction of arc current and magnetic field. The electro-magnetic force is affected by magnetic flux density, arc current, and arc length. Especially, the magnetic flux density is an important factor on arc rotation and weld quality. This paper presents a 2D finite element model for the analysis of magnetic flux density in the actual welding conditions. The magnetic flux density is mainly dependent on gap between two pipes, the position of coil from gap center, exciting current, and relative permeability. Thus, the relations between magnetic flux density and main factors were investigated through experiment and analysis. Experiments were performed for the steel pipes(48.1mm O.D and 2.0mm thickness). The analysis results of magnetic flux density reveal that it increases with increasing exciting current, increasing relative permeability, decreasing distance from gap center to coil, and decreasing gap size. It is considered that the results of this study can be used as important data on the design of coil system and MIAB welding system.

  • Electro-pneumatic servo valve is an electro-mechanical device which converts electric signal into pneumatic flow rate or pressure. In order to improve the overall performance of pneumatic servo systems, electro-pneumatic servo valves are required, which have fast dynamic characteristic, no air leakage at null, and can be fabricated at a low-cost. The first objective of this research is to design and fabricate a new electro-pneumatic servo valve which satisfies the above-mentioned requirements. In this paper, we has been modeled as a system consisting of coupled electro-mechanic and mechanical subsystems. The appropriateness of the model has been verified by simulation. The simulation model resolves the valve body motion and the solenoid current at high accuracy. Also, we are calculate the displacement of spool and computed results show winding currents, magnetic actuator force, flux density line, displacement, velocity, back EMF, eddy current etc.

  • The electro-magnetic vector equation(F=$qv{\times}B$ ; F:force, B:magnetic field, q:plus charge, v :velocity of the charge) explains well about the rotations of electron and positron under the magnetic field[Ref.1], as in Fig.1(a). Because the electro-magnetic wave is also a motion of the alternating charge and magnetic field as in Fig.2, the force vector has all the time inwarding direction and then the wave has a rotating motion. The positron in the proton has constant charge and alternating one at the same time[Ref.2] and then the alternating charge makes the absorbing force with the alternating charge of the rotating wave ($\pi$-ray) around the nucleus[Ref.2]. • This paper introduces the scheme that improve the control performance of electromagnetic levitation system with zero power controller. Magnetic levitation is used widely, but the electromagnetic force has nonlinear characteristics because it is proportioned to a square of the magnetic flux density and it is in inverse proportion to a square of the airgap. So, it is complicate and difficult to control the electromagnetic force. Besides, it is more difficult to control if the equivalent gap is unknown in case of zero power control. Therefore, this paper proposed the hybrid electro-magnetic levitation control method in which the variable load is estimated by using a load observer and its system controlled at a new zero power equilibrium airgap position. Also it is confirmed that the proposed control method improve the control performance through simulation and experiment.

  • It is very difficult to polish non-magnetic materials by the magnetic abrasive polishing (MAP) process because magnetic force is required for MAP, but the magnetic force for non.magnetic materials is low. In this study, we aimed to develop a magnetic array table and control the magnetic polarity such that the magnetic force can be increased for the MAP of non-magnetic materials. The newly designed magnetic array table has 32 electro magnets, and the magnetic polarity of each electro-magnet can be easily controlled by changing the electric polarity. It was analytically verified that the magnetic flux density of non-magnetic materials can be varied by varying the applied magnetic polarity.

  • Direct numerical simulations are peformed to investigate the physics of a spatially developing turbulent boundary layer flow suddenly subjected to spanwise oscillating electro-magnetic forces in the near-wall region. The Reynolds number based on the inlet momentum thickness and free-stream velocity is $Re_\theta=300$. A fully-implicit fractional step method is employed to simulate the flow. The mean flow properties and the Reynolds stresses are obtained to analyze the near-wall turbulent structure. It is found that skin-friction and turbulent kinetic energy can be reduced by the electro-magnetic forces. Instantaneous flow visualization techniques are used to observe the response of streamwise vortices to spanwise oscillating forces. The near-wall vortical structures are clearly affected by spanwise oscillating electro-magnetic forces.

  • MIAB welding method uses a rotating arc as its heat source and is known to be efficient in pipe butt welding. The arc is rotated around the weld line by the electro-magnetic force resulting from the interaction of arc current and magnetic field. This paper is concerned with the experiment of initial stage for process control, monitoring for weld quality, and the design of coil system which is efficient of flux generation and concentration. A coil system for the generation of magnetic flux was designed and constructed. Magnetic flux density and arc rotating behavior are important factors in MIAB welding, so the relations between these factors and process parameters were investigated. Various experiments were performed for the steel pipes(48.1mm O.D and 2.0mm thickness). The magnetic flux density is increased by increasing exciting current and decreasing gap size. The maximum of arc rotating frequency is affected by exciting current and gap size. However, the variations of arc rotating frequency during welding and then the melting process are mainly influenced by welding current. Thus, it is considered that the results of this study can be used as important data on the monitoring for weld quality and the design of efficient coil system.

  • This paper describes the effects of air gap eccentricity in induction machines. Asymmetric electro-magnetic force caused by the frictional worn bearing, rotor misalignment and unbalanced rotor etc. generates an asymmetrical operation, vibration and electro-magnetic noise. The need for detection of these rotor eccentricities has pushed the development of monitoring methods with increasing sensitivity and noise immunity. In this paper, we focus on investigating the asymmetrical operation considering of unbalanced magnetic force in squirrel-cage induction motor with 380 [V], 7.5 [kW], 4P, 1,768 [rpm]. The effects of the rotor eccentricity, magnetic force are investigated by finite element method (FEM).
