Tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate를 함유한 유기 전해액을 사용한 전기 이중층 콘덴서의 전기적 특성 (ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR USING ORGANIC SOLUTION CONTANING TETRAETHYLAMMONIUM TETRAFLUOROBORATE AS ELECTROLYTE)

  • 전기 이중층 콘덴서는 일반적인 콘덴서와 백업용 이차 전지의 중간적 성격을 갖는 디바이스로서 직류 전압 인가시 전하는 진해액과 활성탄의 계면에 전기이중층을 이루며 축적된다. 본 논문에서는 탄화 및 활성화 조건을 달리하여 활성탄 전극을 제조하고 세공 면적, 비표면적, 겉보기 밀도차 기공율을 측정,검토하였으며 여러가지 유기 용매에 tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate를 각각 첨가하여 제조한 전해액의 전기전도도를 정하고 이들 전해액과 활성탄 전극을 이용하여 전기 이중층 콘텐서를 제작한 후 정전용량, 활성탄 전극의 안정 전위, 체적용량 밀도, 중량용량 밀도 등을 검토하였다.

Quantitative Analysis of Ultrathin SiO2 Interfacial Layer by AES Depth Profilitng

  • When a $Ta_O_5$ dielectric film is deposited on a bare silicon, the growth of $SiO_2$ at the $Ta_O_5$/Si interface cannot be avoided. Even though the $SiO_2$ layer is ultrathin (a few nm), it has great effects on the electrical properties of the capacitor. The concentration depth profiles of the ultrathin interfacial $SiO_2$ and $SiO_2/Si_3N_4$ layers were obtained using an Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) equipped with a cylindrical mirror analyzer (CMA). These AES depth profiles were quantitatively analyzed by comparing with the theoretical depth profiles which were obtained by considering the inelastic mean free path of Auger electrons and the angular acceptance function of CMA. The direct measurement of the interfacial layer thicknesses by using a high resolution cross-sectional TEM confirmed the accuracy of the AES depth analysis. The $SiO_2/Si_3N_4$ double layers, which were not distinguishable from each other under the TEM observation, could be effectively analyzed by the AES depth profiling technique.

  • In recent years, the supercapacitor and hybrid capacitor have related with substitutional energy source focused of many scientists because of their usage in power sources for electric vehicles, computers and other electric devices. The storage energy of electrical charge is based on electrostatic interactions in the electric double layer at the electrode/electrolyte interface, resulting in high rate capability and long cycle performance compared with batteries based on Faradaic electrode reactions. So we have been considered to carbon nanofibers as the ideal material for supercapacitors due to their high utilization of specific surface area, good conductivity, chemical stability and other advantages. In this work, we aimed to find out that the capacitance have increased because of electrochemical capacitance to provide by carbon nanofibers. Also carbon nanofibers based on chemical method and water treatment have been resulted larger capacitances and also exhibit better electrochemical behaviors about 15% than before of nontreated state. And also optical observations with treated and nontrteated carbon nanofibers discussed by the TEM, SEM, EDX, BET works and specific surface area analyzer. Their results also focused on the surface area of electrode and electrical capacitance was also improved by the effect of surface treatments.

  • 태양광/풍력 복합발전시스템은 친환경적인 에너지원의 대표적인 복합발전시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 독립형 태양광/풍력 발전시스템을 이용한 가로등 시스템을 구성하여 출력특성을 고찰하였다. 풍력에서 발전된 교류전력을 DC로 변환하여 태양광발전에서 출력된 DC 전력과 공통 DC버스로 전달되도록 하였으며, 공통 직류단 병렬운전을 위해 출력전압을 일치시켰다. 또한 슈퍼캐패시터를 적용하여 발전된 전력의 배터리 충전매체로 활용하여 시스템의 안정성을 높이고 충방전 효율을 증가시키고자 하였다.

  • Electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) is used to overcome power quality problem caused by output power oscillation of wind turbines. A novel EDLC application for permanent magnet synchronous generator type wind power generation system is proposed in this paper. The structure of the proposed system is cost-effective and efficient. The proposed system including an EDLC is modeled and analyzed by PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results show the effectiveness and major features of the proposed system.

  • Energy Saving is one of worldwide emerging issues. These days, applicable techniques of railway vehicle's regenerative energy are investigating in worldwide railway industries. Energy saving methods are "Downsizing energy loss" and "Re-utilizing kinetic energy". Useful plans for Downsizing energy loss are "adjusting operation table" and "optimizing running pattern". Furthermore, regenerative energy that is produced with decreasing speed and stoping, is an important element with reducing vehicle's weight, raising equipment 's efficiency, decreasing running resistance and re-configurating running pattern. Sustainable energy storage mass : Flywheel, EDLC(electrical double layer capacitor) and Secondary battery are applied in overseas, but these cases are not reported within the country. This research is reported for problems and economical validity that comes from by installing sustainable regenerative energy storage system in korean railway industries.

다양한 전해액을 적용한 전기이중층 커패시터의 고전압 특성 연구 (High Voltage Performance of the Electrical Double Layer Capacitor with Various Electrolytes)

  • 높은 출력의 장점을 가지는 전기이중층 커패시터 (EDLC: electric double layer capacitors)는 이차 전지와 더불어 차세대 에너지 저장장치로서 각광받고 있으나 낮은 에너지 밀도로 인해 그 사용처가 제한적이다. 본 연구에서는 EDLC의 에너지 밀도 향상 방법 중의 하나인 고전압화 구현 시 적합한 전해액을 연구하기 위해 AN (acetonitrile)용매에 $SBP-BF_4$ (spirobipyrrolidinium tetrafluoroborate), $TEA-BF_4$ (tetraethylammonium tetraflouroborate), $EMI-BF_4$ (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate)의 세가지 염을 각각 선정하여 다양한 전해액의 조성에 따른 전기화학 특성을 비교 평가하였다. LSV (linear sweep voltammetry)측정에서 1.5M SBP-BF4/AN 전해액은 넓은 전위영역에서 안정함을 보였고, 고전압의 환경 (3.0 V 이상)에서 다른 조합의 전해액들과 비교하여 가장 우수한 전기화학적 성능을 보였다. 또한, 장기적으로 안정적인 성능을 유지하기 위해 리튬이온전지시스템에서 기능성 첨가제 효과가 입증된 TMSP (tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphite) 첨가제를 적용 했을 때 고전압의 환경 (3.3 V)에서 10,000 cycle 후 93%의 높은 용량 유지율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • This work describes the effect of the number of roll pressing and the composition of carbon black on the electric and mechanical properties of carbon-PTFE electrode, in which composition is MSP 20 : carbon black: PTFE = 95-x : x : 5 wt.%. It was found that the best electric and mechanical properties were obtained in sheet electrode roll-pressed for about 15 times and in sheet electrode, in which composition is MSP 20 : carbon black: PTFE = 80 : 15 : 5 wt.%. These behaviors could be explained by the network structure of PTFE fibrils and conducting paths linked with carbon blacks, respectively. On the other hand, cell capacitor using the sheet electrode with 15 wt.% of carbon black attached on aluminum current collector with the electric conductive adhesive, in composition is carbon black : CMC = 70 : 30 wt.%, has exhibited the best rate capability in the current range of $0.5mA/cm^2$ $100mA/cm^2$ and the lowest equivalent series resistance.

A Development of High Power Activated Carbon Using the KOH Activation of Soft Carbon Series Cokes

  • The process parameter in optimized KOH alkali activation of soft carbon series coke material in high purity was set with DOE experiments design. The activated carbon was produced by performing the activation process based on the set process parameters. The specific surface area was measured and pore size was analyzed by $N_2$ absorption method for the produced activated carbon. The surface functional group was analyzed by Boehm method and metal impurities were analyzed by XRF method. The specific surface area was increased over 2,000 $m^2/g$ as the mixing ratio of activation agent increased. The micro pores in $5{\sim}15{\AA}$ and surface functional group under 0.4 meq/g were obtained. The contents of the metal impurity in activated carbon which is the factor for reducing the electrochemical characteristics was reduced less than 100 ppm through the cleansing process optimization. The electrochemical characteristics of activated carbon in 38.5 F/g and 26.6 F/cc were checked through the impedance measuring with cyclic voltammetry scan rate in 50~300 mV/s and frequency in 10 mHz ~100 kHz. The activated carbon was made in the optimized activation process conditions of activation time in 40 minutes, mixing ratio of activation agent in 4.5 : 1.0 and heat treatment temperature over $650^{\circ}C$.

슈퍼커패시티용 DAAQ/CNFs 전극의 제조 (Synthesis of CNFs(Carbon Nanofibers)/DAAQ electrode for Supercapacitor)

  • A new type electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) was constructed by using carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and DAAQ(1,5-diaminoanthraquinone) electrode. Carbonaceous materials are found in variety forms such as graphite, diamond, carbon fibers etc. While all the carbon nanofibers include impurities such as amorphous carbon, nanoparticles, catalytic metals and incompletely grown carbons. We have eliminated of Ni particles and some carbonaceous particles in nitric acid. Nitric acid treated CNFs could be covered with very thin DAAQ oligomer from the results of CV and TG analyses and SEM images. A crystalline supramolecular oligomer of 1,5-diaminoanthraquinone(DAAQ) was successfully prepared as a thin film by electrochemical oxidation from an acidic non-aqueous medium. DAAQ oligomer film exhibited a specific capacity as 45-50 Ah/kg in 4M $H_2SO_4$. Its electrochemical characteristics were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. And compared with different electrolyte of aqueous type. During ultrasonic irradiation CNFs was to disperse in 0.1M $H_2SO_4$. As a result, CNFs coated by DAAQ composite electrode showed relatively good electrochemical behaviors.
