In this paper, we have performed an experiment to obtain an optimized electric stimulation condition on the tip or a ringer skin. The desired parameters for stimulation of the finger tip skin are waveforms, frequency, stimulation intensity, duty cycle. As a result, when the finger skin was stimulated with monophasic, biphasic, and differntial phasic, the most appropriate condition was 200 to 250[Hz] in frequency, 10 to 25[%] in duty cycle. Burst type pulse was more sensitive effect than that of continuous pulse methode.
Objectives : The electroacupuncture(EA) was often used in Oriental medicine clinic and basic researches. However, there have been neither any national standard of acupuncture needles in Korea nor many studies about the property of acupuncture needles for applying electrical stimulations. Therefore we investigated the electrical corrosion property of acupuncture needles used for EA stimulation in clinic. Methods : We observed the occurrence of electrical corrosion like changes in the surface of acupuncture needles after EA stimulation with various parameters(electrical stimulation intensity, treatment duration, diameter of needle) under a light microscope. We performed EA stimulation on Baekhoe($GV_{20}$) or Joksamli($ST_{36}$) of rats with intensity of 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1, 0.25 or 0.5mA at a 10Hz frequency. Results : The electrical corrosion-like changes were found on the surface of needles when the EA stimulation was given over 0.05mA of intensity. When electrical stimulation was treated for 10min, the electrical corrosion-like changes were low, but the electrical corrosion-like changes gradually increased by the treatment duration(20, 30min). We also found that acupuncture needles of 0.2mm diameter were produced more extensive electrical corrosion-like changes than acupuncture needles of 0.3 or 0.4mm diameter by electrical stimulation. Conclusions: These results suggested that EA stimulation could produce electrical corrosion-like changes of acupuncture needles through intensity of current, duration of electric stimulation and/or diameter of needle.

Objectives This study aimed to understand the general research trends, applicated disease, and methodology of transcutaneous/percutaneous vagus nerve stimulation, contemplating its clinical use in traditional Korean medicine and future research directions. Methods A scoping review was conducted following Arksey and O'Malley Framework Stage and adhering to the PRISMA extension for scoping reviews: checklist and explanation. Papers published until October 30, 2023, were investigated across 10 databases (PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System, Korean Studies Information Service System, KMbase, Science ON, Research Information Sharing Service. The search terms used were 'Transcutaneous/Percutaneous vagus nerve stimulation'. Results Since 2021, the application of transcutaneous/percutaneous vagus nerve stimulation for musculoskeletal symptoms has been actively researched, predominantly in Asia (37%), Europe (37%), and North America (21%). All 19 papers were part of clinical studies. Chronic pain was noted that most applied disease, it also was found to potentially aid in acute post-surgical pain relief. Major assessment tools include not only simple pain metrics but also pain perception, vagal nerve tension, quality of life, and inflammatory markers. Most procedures were carried out through the ear, which offers a favorable site for therapeutic stimulation without notable side effects. And parameter analysis, frequencies typically ranged around 25 Hz to 30 Hz, while pulse widths were commonly set at 250 ㎲ or 300 ㎲. Conclusions Transcutaneous/percutaneous vagus nerve stimulation is easily accessible through acupuncture in Korean medicine. Therefore, if future studies establish parameters and clinical significance, it could be utilized as a therapeutic modality.
Using electronic cochlear implant system, we studied in cats the difference in the response of the brain stem evoked response (BER) during the stimulation with the acoustic signals and the electric signals. These brain stem electric responses were analyzed using the integral pulse frequency modulation method of the auditory nervous system. Animal experimental results and the analysis show that the carrier wave hasimprored the frequency specificity. of the electronic auditory prosthesis.
EMSCT (Electrical Muscle Stimulation Conductive Textile) is an electrical muscle stimulation pad that can compensate for ease of use and comfort, which are disadvantages of conventional hydrogel pads used in electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). With the concentration with SWCNT (Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube) and the number of impregnation processes, EMSCT was tested by giving conductivity to five fabrics (radirons, neoprene, spandex cushions, poly100%, and vergamo). The padding process with SWCNT was performed, and the alternating current measurement indicated that the most similar alternating current with hydrogel was the Vergamo fabric of SWCNT:=2:1. Furthermore, the usability evaluation of convenience, usability, and psychological satisfaction results in increased usability of EMSCT compared with conventional hydrogel pads.
A 19-year-old male patient presented with facial hemi-atrophy with unilateral spasms of the masseter and temporalis muscles. Ultrasound therapy and Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation therapy, known as combination therapy, were given on alternate days for 2 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks of combination therapy the patient reported a drastic reduction in the number of episodes of muscle spasm. The visual analog scale score for tenderness of the masseter and temporalis was also markedly reduced. No one has previously used combination therapy for the treatment of facial hemi-atrophy with hemi-facial spasms. The encouraging results of the combination therapy has prompted us to document this study.
Urinary incontinence therapy system has been developed using electric stimulation and biofeedback techniques. In the electric stimulation, bipolar current pulses with the frequency of 10-50Hz were applied to vagina muscle. To alleviate possible skin burning caused by locally focussed current silicone electrodes rather than conventional steel electrodes have been developed.

There are electric double layer capacitance, polarization resistance and solution resistance in the interface between electrode and solution. Electrode process could be evaluated by the electrical impedance analysis. The necessities of the electrochemical cell analysis with high speed impedance analyzer are followings: minimization of the effects of electric stimulation on electrochemical cell and the concentration of reactive materials, and optimization of impedance signal resolution. This paper represents the design criteria for the selection and stimulation to develop fast impedance analyzer prototype for a electrochemical cell. It was suggested that the design of 470k sample/s sampling rate, 13 bit ABC resolution, and 140ms recording time is required for high speed impedance analysis system in frequency range between dc and 10kHz.
The vestibular system located in the inner ear controls reflex body posture and movement. It has the semicircular canals sensing an angular acceleration and the otolith organs sensing a linear acceleration. With this organic signal, medical doctor decide if a person has disease or not. To obtain this data, a precision stimular system is considered. Robust control is needed to obtain eye signals induced by off-vertical axis rotation because of an unbalanced load produced by tilting the axis of the system upto 30 degrees. In this study, off-vertical axis rotatory system with visual stimulation system are developed. This system is consisted of head mounted display for generating horizontal, vertical, and three dimensional stimulus patterns. Furthermore wireless recording system using RF modem is considered for noiseless data transmission.
