The Korean electric power supply plan was prepared by greatly enhancing the environmental and safety with considering the economical efficiency of the electric equipment, the impact on the environment and the public safety. As a result, the fossil energy-based power generation sector is accelerating the paradigm shift to eco-friendly energy such as solar power and wind. Also the solar power industry is expected to grow into a super large-sized industry by converging the energy storage and electric vehicle industry. Generally, a levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) is used to calculate the power generation cost for different generation power generation efficiency, operating cost, and life span. In this paper, we have studied the future research and development direction of photovoltaic technology development for the era of massive utilization of photovoltaic solar power, and have studied the LCOE of major countries including China, USA, Germany, Japan and Korea. Finally we have reviewed USA and Japan research programs to reduce the LCOE.

To supply precise marketing and differentiated service for the electric power service department, it is very important to predict the customers with high sensitivity of electric power failure. To solve this problem, we propose a novel grouped 𝑙1/2 sparsity constrained logistic regression method for sensitivity assessment of electric power failure. Different from the 𝑙1 norm and k-support norm, the proposed grouped 𝑙1/2 sparsity constrained logistic regression method simultaneously imposes the inter-class information and tighter approximation to the nonconvex 𝑙0 sparsity to exploit multiple correlated attributions for prediction. Firstly, the attributes or factors for predicting the customer sensitivity of power failure are selected from customer sheets, such as customer information, electric consuming information, electrical bill, 95598 work sheet, power failure events, etc. Secondly, all these samples with attributes are clustered into several categories, and samples in the same category are assumed to be sharing similar properties. Then, 𝑙1/2 norm constrained logistic regression model is built to predict the customer's sensitivity of power failure. Alternating direction of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm is finally employed to solve the problem by splitting it into several sub-problems effectively. Experimental results on power electrical dataset with about one million customer data from a province validate that the proposed method has a good prediction accuracy.
Electric power is an important part in economic development. Moreover, an accurate load forecast can make a financing planning, power supply strategy and market research planned effectively. This paper used the fuzzy logic system to predict the regional electric power load. To design the fuzzy prediction system, the correlation-based clustering algorithm and TSK fuzzy model were used. Also, to improve the prediction system's capability, the moving average technique and relative increasing rate were used in the preprocessing procedure. Finally, using four regional electric power load in Taiwan, this paper verified the performance of the proposed system and demonstrated its effectiveness and usefulness.

345kV youngheung tansmission line which has been constructed in the western sea is the first and the largest marine project in the world crossing the youngheung island and the sihwa bay. It helps the stabilization of power supply greatly to cope with the rapid growth of the electric power consumption in the metropolitan areas and Gyeonggi province. Haying constructed the project successfully with the purely domestic-developed technologies, KEPCO is able to not only accumulate more advanced technologies of the marine project but also establish a bridgehead toward overseas market. It is very meaningful that we completed project successfully in spite of many difficulties including the uncertainty of the first project in the sea and strong objections from the environment groups and local residents. In this paper I will briefly introduce the project, newly developed technologies and materials.
Electrical energy is playing an increasingly vital role as the primary energy source in everyday life. With the increase in electric power consumption, power facilities are under an increasing stress and must operate at a high capacity. Consequently, the demand for electric power cables in power transmission and distribution lines is rapidly increasing. Underground distribution lines have been steadily replacing the aboveground lines owing to the increase in electric power demand and the need to increase the supply voltage. In addition to line damage, worker safety is of primary concern in this type of underground infrastructure. In this study, to improve the safety of workers dealing with underground transmission lines, we analyzed the electromagnetic field generated around the distribution line and determined the basic criteria for developing a device that can detect a live underground line.
Attention has been focused on how to charge an electric vehicle in accordance with the increase of interest in the electric vehicle in recent years. The charging of an electric vehicle with a solar power is way to increase the stability of the grid and to supplement the grid power demand. In this paper, the EMTP / ATPDraw presents a method of charging an electric vehicle in connection to the grid and the solar power system, and analyze the trends in supply power from the solar power system according to changes in temperature and irradiation.
The expanding significance of energy storage (ES) technology is increasing the acceptability of power systems by augmenting renewable energy supply. To deploy such ES technologies, we must select the optimal technology that meets the requirements of the system and confirm the technical and economic feasibility of the business model based on it. Herein, we propose a method and tool for selecting the optimal ES technology suitable for meeting the requirements of the system, based on its performance characteristics. The method described in this study can be used to discover and apply various ES technologies and develop business models with excellent economic feasibility.
