The phenomenology of liquid breakdown has been an area of interest for many years but is still not fully understood. Moreover, it was known that the behavior of magnetic nanoparticles in transformer oil could affect the dielectric breakdown voltage positively or negatively. In this study, we have imaged the magnetic nanoparticles in a transformer oil in-situ using an optical microscopic set-up and a microchannel according to the electric and magnetic fields applied. And we have calculated numerically dielectrophoresis and magnetophoresis forces, which must be the driving mechanisms to move magnetic nanoparticles in the fluid. It was found that when the electric field is applied the magnetic nanoparticles in the fluid experience an electrical force directed toward the place of maximum electric field strength. And when the external magnetic field is applied, the magnetic nanoparticles form long chains oriented along the direction of the field.
The electric railway cars are operated by high voltage supply through the catenary wire. Also, numerous electric equipments operated by electric signal are distributed in the electric railway cars. Such electric equipments are exposed to EMI/EMC problems, and there is the possibility that the magnetic field due to the catenary wire current takes effect on the electromagnetic field in the electric railway cars which move under the catenary wire. There is the possibility that the electromagnetic interference generates in view of the operation of many electric equipments in the electric railway cars. There is the possibility that the communication device faults generate, and that the hazards on the human beings generate. In this paper, we predict the magnetic field around the catenary wire, and obtain the exact magnetic field distribution by comparing the analytic results and the numerical results. Finally, we confirmed the possibility of the passive loop mitigation by comparing the analytic results and the numerical results through the passive loop mitigation technique.
We use three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic simulations to investigate how the dynamic state of emerging magnetic field is related to the twist of field lines. Emergence of magnetic field is considered as one of the key physical process producing solar activity such as flares, jets, and coronal mass ejections. To understand these activities we have to know dynamic nature and electric current structure provided by emerging magnetic field. To demonstrate dynamic nature of field lines, we focus on the factors such as curvature of magnetic field line and scale height of magnetic field strength. These factors show that strong twist case forms two-part structure in which the central part is close to a force-free state while the outer marginal part is in a fairly dynamic state. For weak twist case, it still shows two-part structure but the tendency becomes weaker than strong twist case. We discuss how the curvature distribution affects the dynamic nature of emerging magnetic field. We also investigate electric current distribution provided by emerging field lines to show a possible relation between electric current structure and sigmoid observed in a preflare phase.
Magnetic field and Electric field of High Temperature Superconducting magnet are very important to analysis of superconducting magnet. The maximum perpendicular magnetic field was applied to the outermost pancake windings. The critical current of all the magnet windings is limited by the critical current of the outermost pancake windings. The E-J relation was used to determine the critical current, and an evolution s trategy was adopted for the optimization of gap length between each pancake windins. The results of calculations show that the critical current and the central magnetic field and uniformity increased by 82.6% and 31.6% and 50.8%, respectively, for a magnet consisting of ten pancake windings. This paper did an analysis the cause of increase the critical current and central magnetic field and uniformity in no gap and optimal gap model.
In this study, the porothermoelastic problem with the effect of the magnetic field and initial stress was investigated. We applied normal mode analysis to solve the resulting non-dimensional coupled equations. Numerical results for the displacements, temperature distribution, pore pressure, stresses, induced electric field and induced magnetic field distributions are presented graphically and discussed. The medium deformed because of thermal shock and due to the application of the magnetic field, there result an induced magnetic and an induced electric field in the medium. Numerical analyses are given graphically on the square (2D) and cubic (3D) domains to illustrate the effects of the porosity parameter, magnetic field and initial stress parameter on the physical variables.

Cost-effective high precision hybrid elements are presented in a hierarchical form for dynamic analysis of plates. The costs associated with controlling the vibrations of ferromagnetic plates can be minimized by adequate determination of the amount of electric current and magnetic field. In the present study, the effect of magnetic field and electric current on nonlinear vibrations of ferromagnetic plates is investigated. The general form of Lorentz forces and Maxwell's equations have been considered for the first time to present new relationships for electromagnetic interaction forces with ferromagnetic plates. In order to derive the governing nonlinear differential equations, the theory of third-order shear deformations of three-dimensional plates has been applied along with the von Kármán large deformation strain-displacement relations. Afterward, the nonlinear equations are discretized using the Galerkin method, and the effect of various parameters is investigated. According to the results, electric current and magnetic field have different effects on the equivalent stiffness of ferromagnetic plates. As the electric current increases and the magnetic field decreases, the equivalent stiffness of the plate decreases. This is a phenomenon reported here for the first time. Furthermore, the magnetic field has a more significant effect on the steady-state deflection of the plate compared to the electric current. Increasing the magnetic field and electric current by 10-times results in a reduction of about 350% and an increase of 3.8% in the maximum steady-state deflection, respectively. Furthermore, the nonlinear frequency decreases as time passes, and these changes become more intense as the magnetic field increases.
Recently, important for the safety has been increasing together economic developments. The leakage only is measured by the voltage difference. This method is a way to contact the electric leakage area. It can cause electric shock at users. We propose a non-contact method to detect a short circuit in this paper. We investigate magnetic field at electric leakage area to present non-contact method. Simulated environment created a short circuit in the flooded areas. Voltage is supplied 50, 150 and 200[V]. Magnetic field was measured at 0, 5 and 10[cm]. Magnetic flux was reduced about $0.4[{\mu}T/cm]$ depending on the distance changes in the steady region. But we confirmed that magnetic flux is measured the same value depending on the distance changes in the electric leakage area.
This paper describes the features of electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning discharges. The measuring system consists of fast electric field sensor, crossed-loop magnetic field sensors, signal processing circuit, A/D converter and data acquisition equipment with a 12bit resolution and 10[MS/s] sampling rate. The frequency bandwidth and responsitivity of the electric field measuring system were 40[Hz]${\sim}$2.6 [MHz] and 2.08 (V/m/mV) and those of the magnetic field measuring system were 400[Hz]${\sim}$1[MHz] and 2.78[nT/mV], respectively. The electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning discharges were observed, and the features and parameters of the waveforms were analyzed.
Since Wertheimer and Leeper reported possible adverse health effects of magnetic field in 1979, worldwide researches on this issue have been conducted. More recently, the U.S. Congress instructed the NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences), NIH (National Institute of Health) and DOE (Department of Energy) to direct and manage EMF RAPID (Electric and Magnetic Fields Research and Public Information Dissemination) program aimed at providing scientific evidence to clarify the potential for health risks from exposure to extremely low frequency electric and magnetic fields(ELF-EMF). Although they concluded that the scientific evidence suggesting adverse health risks of ELF-EMF is weak, the exposure to ELF-EMF cannot be recognized as entirely safe. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to describe magnetic field 3-D calculation and to evluate eddy current of human body compare to international guide line recognized one of the basic problems. In open boundary problem, Magnetic field using FEM is not advantageous in the point of the division of area and the proposition of the fictitious boundary. Therefore, we induced the analytic equation of magnetic field calculations so but the finite line segment based on Biot-Savarts law Also, Eddy currents induced due to ELF-EMF magnetic field are computed. To calculate induced currents, impedance method is used in this paper, An example model of human head with resolution of 1.27cm is used. In this paper, We evaluate the magnetic field and eddy current of human head around 765 kV transmission lines compare to international guide line.
