차세대전동차 개발목표에 대한 계량화 방안연구 (A Study on a Measurement Scheme for the Development Goals of the Next Generation EMU)

  • The development goals of the next generation EMU are to improve the system maintainability, transportation capacity, reliability, passenger service and energy efficiency. In this paper, we propose a measurement scheme for the development goals of the next generation Electric Multiple Unit(EMU). To achieve that, we drew meaningful characteristics for each development goal, which mainly affect effectiveness and performance of vehicle system. Finally, the measurement scheme for the development is obtained by using the characteristics, which could be a numerical values such as maximum velocity, acceleration of the vehicle and so on or subjective values such as a results of surveys from passengers and so on. We expect the proposed measurement scheme will be used to measure the development goals of other similar system as well as the next generation EMU.

전동차 상하진동에 대한 현가장치 설계변수의 영향 (Effects of the Design Parameters of Suspension Systems on the Bounce of Electric Trains)

  • 본 연구에서는 실측 주행시험 결과데이터를 바탕으로 윤축 진동과 설계변수간의 관계를 규명하고자 2 자유도계 모델을 구성하였다. 특히 2차 현가장치인 공기스프링의 점탄성 특성을 반영하기 위해 니시무라 공기스프링 모델을 적용하였다. 수치해석 결과 내부 압력 감소 및 보조 공기탱크 체적 증가 시 객차 가속도응답이 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 안정성을 헤치지 않는 범위 내에서 현가장치의 강성을 조정해 볼 필요가 있음을 알았다.

  • In this study, an aluminum electric motor car with a modular front end made of composite materials is numerically evaluated applying the standard specifications for the urban EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) train. Structural analyses under compressive load, torsional load and free vibration satisfy the standard specifications, but analysis under normal load doesn't. By the way, the aluminum bodyshell of the car except the modular front end is almost same to that of the Korean standard EMU, which satisfy the standard specifications. It is presumed that the stiffness of the modular front end made of composite materials haves some influence on the strength of the aluminum bodyshell.

  • The sliding door and plug door are the main types of door system in the EMU(Electric Multiple Unit). The sliding door is widely used in Korea but has weak point in the noise problem. In the low operation speed, the noise coming from outer side of the EMU is not an important factor. As the speed is higher than before, noise is increased and make an issue. The main cause of noise is the imperfect air tightness in the EMU. The plug door system has advantages for the noise reduction characteristic in the high speed area. Actually the noise level is an important factor for the passenger comfort. In this paper, we will describe the characteristic of electric plug door and functions of sub component.

  • EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) of Seoul Metro are equipped with air conditioning and six line flow fans for air circulation. In summer, the air conditioning and line flow fans usually work at the same time. Recently, high oil price leads more people to use public transportation, which in turn makes them feel hotter inside the rolling stocks and complain about air conditioning state. In order to improve indoor air quality in summer, it is inevitable to increase the cooling capacity of air conditioners, which costs a lot of money. Thus, we need to raise cooling efficiency by rearranging existing devices effectively. In this study, we found a better way to improve refreshment inside the trains by changing the operation method of line flow fans and door opening systems. The results will help improve the cooling efficiency of EMU in summer. Also, more precise experiments and analyses of our data can lead to various methods to increase energy efficiency.

  • This paper introduced the appearance characteristics of the cab mask & telescopic handrail arms for the New Zealand EMU to be applied with inter-city transportation in 2010. The appearance characteristics are improvements of driver's sightline, implementation of safety zone of gangway plate by using the telescopic handrail arms, improvements of staff & female crew & ground crew's convenience. and also, during have looking the New Zealand EMU(Electric Multiple Unit), I hope that people who having the interesting of the cab mask design would be gotten help with basic knowledge.

  • EMU, Electric Multiple Unit, is very complicated system that consists of thousand parts. If breakdown happens, work that clears cause in most cases work that clears cause in most cases is very complicated and difficult. Also it needs much times and experts of several parts. Maintenance is depending on know-how of the operator and breakdown that happen before happens often repeatedly because information management and public ownership are not achieved properly about analysis and action result. In this paper we present the case-based expert system for EMU which is able to share this know-how knowledge that data-based systemically with another operator.

  • Type of the high-speed train under development has been decided to be EMU(electric multiple Units) following the trend of the times, which is weak for vibration and noise due to the distributed traction unit of motors and gears than that of the articulated high-speed train. Also, passengers may feel uncomfortable at high-speed running due to the various vibration of vehicle itself and bogie, especially due to hunting, snake motion of the high-speed train. In this paper, explained was the program to develop the high-speed EMU at every step of basic and detail design and running test, predict and try to reduce the vibration.

  • In this paper, numerically evaluated is the regulations for crashworthy design of the Korean standard urban train suggested by KRRI. The 4-car consist of K-EMU(Korean Electric Multiple Unit) train developed in recent is analyzed under various collision conditions such as normal coupling, heavy shunt, light and heavy collisions. The collision conditions are assumed as K-EMU collides against another stationary one at 5 kph, 10 kph, 25 kph and 32 kph. According to the numerical results and bibliographical study, it is necessary that the regulations by KRRI be complemented from crashworthy point of view. Furthermore, the K-EMU train is recommended to adopt a new coupler with an additional energy absorber or a mechanical fuse.

  • This study focuses on finding ECO driving patterns which consider driving safety of the ATO system train and reliability and which optimize efficiency of the driving energy consumption. Research results derived by performing simulation of those 5 models show that the emergency braking which affects safety of passenger and the machinery is minimized, and safe driving speed is maintained by the prohibition of drastic acceleration/deceleration, coasting and constant-speed driving. Therefore if this result is applied to the urban railway train by amending or making ATO program to save energy usage that improve environmental quality, its effects as ECO driving pattern is huge.
