The local binary pattern (LBP) scheme that is one of the texture classification methods normally uses the distribution of flat, edge and corner patterns. However, it cannot examine the edge direction and the pixel difference because it is a sort of binary pattern caused by thresholding. Furthermore, since it cannot consider the pixel distribution, it shows lower performance as the image size becomes larger. In order to solve this problem, we propose a sub-classification method using the edge direction distribution and eigen-matrix. The proposed sub-classification is applied to the particular texture patches which cannot be classified by LBP. First, we quantize the edge direction and compute its distribution. Second, we calculate the distribution of the largest value among eigenvalues derived from structure matrix. Simulation results show that the proposed method provides a higher classification performance of about 8 % than the existing method.
As in the other fields of mechanics, analytical methods represent an important analysis tool in marine hydrodynamics. The analytical approach is interesting for different reasons : it gives reference results for numerical codes verification, it gives physical insight into some complicated problems, it can be used as a simplified predesign tool, etc. This approach is of course limited to some simplified geometries (cylinders, spheres, ...), and only the case of one or more cylinders, truncated or not, will be considered here. Presented methods are basically eigenfunction expansions whose complexity depends on the boundary conditions. The hydrodynamic boundary value problem (BVP) is formulated within the usual assumptions of potential flow and is additionally simplified by the perturbation method. By using this approach, the highly nonlinear problem decomposes into its linear part and the higher order (second, third, ...) corrections. Also, periodicity is assumed so that the time dependence can be factorized i.e. the frequency domain formulation is adopted. As far as free surface flows are concerned, only cases without or with small forward speed are sufficiently simple to be solved semi-analytically. The problem of the floating body advancing in waves with arbitrary forward speed is far more complicated. These remarks are also valid for the general numerical methods where the case of arbitrary forward speed, even linearized, is still too difficult from numerical point of view, and "it is fair to say that there exists at present no general practical numerical method for the wave resistance problem" [9], and even less for the general seakeeping problem. We note also that, in the case of bluff bodies like cylinders, the assumptions of the potential flow are justified only if the forward speed is less than the product of wave amplitude with wave frequency.
This paper investigates the effects of the fusion of multifrequency (C and L bands) polarimetric SAR data in land-cover classification. NASA JPL AIRSAR C and L bands data were used to supervised classification in an agricultural area to simulate the integration of ALOS PALSAR and Radarsat-2 SAR data to be available. Several scattering features derived from target decomposition based on eigen value/vector analysis were used as input for a support vector machines classifier and then the posteriori probabilities for each frequency SAR data were integrated by applying a probabilistic ratio model as a decision level fusion methodology. From the case study results, L band data had the proper amount of penetration power and showed better classification accuracy improvement (about 22%) over C band data which did not have enough penetration. When all frequency data were fused for the classification, a significant improvement of about 10% in overall classification accuracy was achieved thanks to an increase of discrimination capability for each class, compared with the case of L band Shh data.
The goal of this research is to discover various cognitive types on social work practice by using Q methodology which explores subjectivities of human beings. The researchers selected 40 Q items among 293 Q populations from data through in-depth interviews of eight social workers and literature reviews, and the reliability was r=.816. Twenty-nine social workers sorted Q items and the obtained data was analysed by the QUANL program. The perception types were divided into three patterns and the eigen value was .5849. Three perception types on social workers' practices were 'relationship-centered(type 1)', 'change-centered(type 2)' and 'resource-centered(type 3)' practices. These types were different in perceptions on identification of relationship with clients, key characteristics, skills and strengths as a social worker. According to these results, the researchers offered some significant implications and suggested several following studies.

Buckwheat is well-known crop for containing a high contents of flavonoids that are effective in vascular disease. The current study was performed to estimate the influence of morphological characterization of Fagopyrum esculentum (ES) germplasm for seed's two major flavonoids contents: rutin and quercetin. We found that the red stem color, pale green leaf color, arrowhead leaf shape, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color, and egg-shaped seed were significantly associated with 77%, 56.7%, 83.7%, 98.7%, 70.8% and 74.5% germplasm, respectively. Overall, the rutin contents of ES germplasm ranged from 0.30 to 47.86 mg/100g dry weight (DW) and the quercetin contents ranged from 0 to 1.22 mg/100g DW. The rutin contents of germplasm possessing red stem color, pale green leaf color, arrowhead leaves, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color and egg-shaped seed ranged from 7.22 to 47.86 mg/100g DW. However, the quercetin contents of germplasm with red stem color and pale brown seed coat color ranged from 0 to 1.15 mg/100g DW, with pale green leaves ranged from 0 to 0.96 mg/100g, with arrowhead leaves and white flower ranged from 0 to 1.22 mg/100g and with egg-shaped seed ranged from 0.32 to 1.22 mg/100g DW. In PCA analysis, the first three principal components (PCs) showed Eigen value more than 1 and accounted for 51.70% of variation. For both higher contents of rutin and quercetin, the morphological evaluation in ES shows a tendency of red stem color, arrowhead leaves, pale green leaf color, white flower color, pale brown seed coat color and egg-shaped seed. From this information, we can assume the rutin and quercetin contents by the morphological characteristics of the germplasm. And It could be useful in improving the rutin and quercetin contents and selecting proper resources for cultivation in existing buckwheat cultivars.

Purpose: In modern corporate management, the establishment of a crisis management system that minimizes damage through measures used to respond to corporate crises is no longer an option. The importance of corporate reputation and brand asset management in modern enterprise management cannot be overemphasized and negative events that might arise from a number of different causes can cause brand crises. Research design, data and methodology: More than half of the questionnaire respondents were female (252 or 53%). More than a fourth of the respondents were aged 20 (122 or 26%) and the number of married participants was 196 (41%). Of the participants, 32% (153) had graduated from college. Only 18% (87) were employees and the monthly household income was 121. In this study, we conducted factor analysis in order to extract the variables that may enhance the explanation capability of each variable. For the method of factor extraction, an Eigen value of at least 1 was used as was factor loading. An analysis was performed using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient to verify the reliability of the measurement scale. Results: First, the analysis of the impact of the social responsibility activities on brand image revealed that the social, economic, philanthropic, ethical, and environmental responsibility activities significantly affected brand image, but legal responsibility activities were not statistically significant. Second, the analysis of the impact of brand image on loyalty showed that brand image had a significant impact on loyalty. Third, the analysis of the impact of social responsibility activities on loyalty showed that they had a significant impact on loyalty. Conclusions: The pro-social enterprise image is not only a brand asset that can be shared, but also a heavy proposition followed by a corresponding social responsibility, it will have to practice transparent corporate management based on clear principles through the establishment of various systems and the implementation of a strict code of conduct within the enterprise.

A feature extraction method capable of reflecting features well while mainaining the properties of data is required in order to process high-dimensional data. The principal component analysis method that converts high-level data into low-dimensional data and express high-dimensional data with fewer variables than the original data is a representative method for feature extraction of data. In this study, we propose a principal component analysis method based on adaptive correlation when selecting principal component variables in principal component analysis for data feature extraction when the data is high-dimensional. The proposed method analyzes the principal components of the data by adaptively reflecting the correlation based on the correlation between the input data. I want to exclude them from the candidate list. It is intended to analyze the principal component hierarchy by the eigen-vector coefficient value, to prevent the selection of the principal component with a low hierarchy, and to minimize the occurrence of data duplication inducing data bias through correlation analysis. Through this, we propose a method of selecting a well-presented principal component variable that represents the characteristics of actual data by reducing the influence of data bias when selecting the principal component variable.

In order to find out a high potential black soybean lines, of which demand has been increasing in Korea, twenty eight local cultivars were evaluated on agronomic characteristics and the classification of the cultivars was made by the cluster analysis. Days to maturity and days to growing of black soybeans were widely ranged from 58 to 82 days, and 117 to 148 days, respectively. Late maturing group showed over 140 maturity days, and heavy 100 seed weight. There was shown low yield potential in late maturing group, and growing days was positively correlated with flowering days, days to maturity, 100-seed weight and stem length, respectively. From the principal component analysis upper two components composed 76.5% cumulative eigen value to total. Nine varietal groups were identified in relations to their affinity of the black soybeans. Selected black soybeans, Namhae-2 and Hamyang-l were field-tested and those characteristics of many pod, small seed and high yield were found out to be suitable for sprouting.

Generally design of frame structures composed of beam-column member is accomplished by stability evaluation of each member considering the effective buckling length. This study selects a member of the smallest non-dimension slenderness ratio using the buckling eigenvalue calculated by the elastic buckling eigen-value analysis and axial force of the each member, and decides the initial deflection quantity reflected geometric and material nonlinearities from a suggested equation on the base of standard strength curve of Korea Bridge Design Code. Second-order elastic analysis applying the initial deflection is executed and the stability of each member is evaluated and decides ultimate strength. Through examples of eight-stories and four-stories plane frame structures, the evaluation of the stability is compared with the existing method and ultimate strength of the suggested method is compared with ultimate strength by the nonlinear inelastic analysis. Through these procedures, the increasing of effective buckling length by elastic buckling eigenvalue analysis is prevented from a new design method that considers initial imperfections. And the validity of this method is proved.

Estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) is an algorithm that estimates the angle of a signal arriving at an array antenna using the shift invariance property of an array antenna. ESPRIT offers the good trade-off between performance and complexity. However, the ESPRIT algorithm still requires high-complexity operations such as covariance matrix and eigenvalue decomposition, so implementation with a hardware processor is essential to estimate the angle of arrival in real time. In addition, ESPRIT processors should have high performance. The performance is related to the number of antennas, and the number of antennas required for each application are different. Therefore, we proposed an ESPRIT processor that provides 2 to 8 variable antenna configurations to meet the performance and complexity requirements according to the applied field. The proposed ESPRIT processor was designed using the Verilog-HDL and implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA).
