연소효율이 우수한 소형 소각로의 개발 (Development of the Small Wastes Incinerator with High Combustion Efficiency)

  • In order to reduce emission of air pollutants from spot incineration, it is required to develope the combustion chamber of small wastes incinerator having combustion efficiency. The characteristics of combustion of the incinerator with combustion chamber having tangential angels with surface of 45$^{\circ}$of air supply nozzles were studied in accordance with non-grate, fixed-grate and shaking-grate in the combustion chamber. Combustion conditions were evaluated with combustion efficiency, emission of hazardous gases, temperatures, ignition loss of ash and so on. Combustion efficiencies were shown 73.9% for non-gate, 81.1% for fixed-grate and 89.0% for shaking-grate. Emissions of CO were revealed 6.52 ppm for non-grate, 273 ppm for fixed-grate and 224 for shaking-grate. Comprehensively evaluated, combustion conditions got better in order of shaking-grate, fixed-grate and non-grate. This study suggests that small wastes incinerator should have shaking-or fixed-grate in combustion chamber to get better combustion condition even though at expensive cost of manufacturing.

  • In this study, the combustion characteristics were investigated based on the biodrying solid recovered fuel (SRF) in a 5 Ton/day scale combustion boiler. The composition of the combustion gas containing the biodrying SRF was analyzed, the particulate matter, and its HCl content was determined with the air pollutant process test method. Mass balance, carbon balance, and combustion efficiency were calculated according to the equivalence ratio (ER) method; the energy recovery efficiency of the combustion boiler was also analyzed. The overall combustion efficiency of the biodrying SRF was 97.3 % and the energy recovery efficiency was 80.2%.

  • Recently, there has been growing interest in the oxyfuel combustion cycle since it enables high-purity CO2 capture with high efficiency. However, the oxyfuel combustion cycle has some important issues regarding to its performance such as the requirement of water recirculation to decrease a turbine inlet temperature and proper combustion pressure to enhance cycle efficiency. The purpose of the present study is to analyze performance characteristics of the oxyfuel combustion cycle with different turbine inlet temperatures and combustion pressures. It is expected that the turbine inlet temperature improves cycle efficiency, on the other hand, the combustion pressure has specific value to display highest cycle efficiency.

  • An experimental investigation was conducted to investigate the effects of the equivalence ratio and air mass flux on the combustion efficiency in a solid fuel ramjet used fuel grains which were highly loaded with boron carbide. Combustion efficiency increased with increasing equivalence ratio (grain length), and decreasing air mass flux. Higher inlet air temperature produced higher combustion efficiencies, apparently the result of enhanced combustion of the larger boron particles those bum in a diffusion controlled regime. Short grains which considered primarily of the recirculation region produced larger particles and lower combustion efficiencies. The result of the normalized combustion efficiency increased with inlet air temperature, is coincident with the result of the Brayton cycle thermal and the total efficiency relating to the heat input.

  • A liquid rocket engine performance has been analyzed as a function of combustion pressure with LOx/RP-1R. The present method is verified by comparing the specific impulse for various combustion pressure with given pump head model. The optimal combustion pressure is between 150 bar and 200 bar for given efficiencies. Both the optimal combustion pressure and the specific impulse increase for increased turbine efficiency. The optimal combustion pressure decreases and the specific impulse increases for increased combustion efficiency. The pump efficiency and the turbine inlet temperature have the same qualitative effect as the turbine efficiency.

  • 본 연구는 multi fan 방식의 "공랭식 연소설비"의 공정관리상의 문제점을 single F.D. fan 으로 대체하여 개선시키기 위해 CFD 진행하였고, 연소로 내 유동조건 변화를 분석하여 문제점을 확인하였다. 이를 개선하기 위해 연소공기 주입구조를 변경하였고, 구조 변화에 따른 연소효율 개선을 수치해석으로 평가하였다. 또한 실제 연소설비에 수치해석결과를 반영하여 구조개선을 한 후 개선 전·후의 연소효율을 실험적으로 측정하였다. 먼저 기존 Single F.D fan 이 적용된 연소설비에 대한 수치해석을 통해, 2개의 유로로 공급되는 연소공기가 각 유로의 마찰력 차이와 압력의 변화로 인해 연소로 내에서 공급비율이 불규칙하게 되어 선회방식의 연소조건을 위한 축 형태의 난류형성이 어려움을 확인하였다. 이를 개선하기 위해서 연소로에 주입하는 공기 공급 방식을 두 가지로 나누어 수치해석을 하였다. 첫 번째 방식은 연소공기를 외벽에서 180 ~ 360° 회전 후 예열된 연소공기가 주입되는 구조에 대하여 검토하였고, 두 번째는 연소로 내에는 선회할 수 있는 베인(vane) 구조를 적용하여 연소로 밖에서 1차 열교환 후 연소로 내부에 접선방향으로 연소공기가 주입되는 구조에 대하여 검토하였다. 그 결과, single F.D. fan을 가진 공랭식 연소로에 선회방식으로 공기를 주입할 경우, 연소로 외벽의 냉각과 연소로 내부의 완전혼합 유지를 위해 이중 냉각벽을 가지는 덕트 구조를 적용하는 것이 연소조건을 최적화하는데 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며, 실제 운영중인 설비에 적용하여 개선 전·후의 연소효율을 비교한 결과 연소효율이 개선되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Also, Some of water vapour remain not condensed at condenser outlet because cycle working fluid contains non-condensable gas, i.e., $CO_2$. The purpose of the present study is to analyze performance characteristics of the oxyfuel combustion cycle with different turbine inlet temperatures, combustion pressures and condenser pressure. It is expected that increasing the turbine inlet temperature improves cycle efficiency, on the other hand, the combustion pressure has specific value to display highest cycle efficiency. And increasing condensing pressure improves water vapour condensing rate.

  • 보론 카바이드를 함유한 고체연료 그레인을 사용하여 당량비와 공기 질량 유속에 따라 연소 효율이 어떻게 변하는가를 조사하였다. 연소 효율은 당량비의 증가 방향과 질량유속 감소 방향에 따라서 증가하였다. 높은 흡입온도가 높은 연소 효율을 보이는데 이는 확산 영역에서 큰 보론 입자들의 연소 증진 결과이다. 재순환 영역으로 주로 이루어진 짧은 그레인에서는 큰 보론 입자의 형성으로 연소 효율은 감소하고 있다. 흡입 온도에 따라 증가하는 연소 효율은 흡입온도 증가에 따라 일반적으로 열역학적 사이클의 효율이 감소하는 것과는 상반되는 방향이나 실험적 결과를 해석할 때 합당한 결과로 나타나고 있다.

민코 아역청탄의 순산소 연소특성 (Combustion Characteristics of Minco Sub-bituminous Coal at Oxy-Fuel Conditions)

  • New way to effectively capture $CO_2$ in coal fired power plant is the combustion of coal using oxy-fuel technology. Combustion characteristics of Minco sub-bituminous coal at oxy-fuel conditions using TGA and drop tube furnace (DTF) were included activation energy about the char burnout, volatile yield and combustion efficiency of raw coal, the porosity of pyrolyzed char and fusion temperature of by-product ash. TGA result shows that the effect of $CO_2$ on combustion kinetics reduces activation energy by approximately 7 kJ/mol at air oxygen level(21% $O_2$) and decreases the burning time by approximately 16%. The results from DTF indicated similar combustion efficiency under $O_2/CO_2$ and $O_2/N_2$ atmospheres for equivalent $O_2$ concentration whereas high combustion efficiency under $O_2/N_2$ than $O_2/CO_2$ was obtained for high temperature of more than $1,100^{\circ}C$. Overall coal burning rate under $O_2/CO_2$ is decreased due to the lower rate of oxygen diffusion into coal surface through the $CO_2$ rich boundary layer. By-product ash produced under $O_2/CO_2$ and $O_2/N_2$ was similar IDT in irrelevant to $O_2$ concentration and atmospheres gas during the coal combustion.

중질유-물 유화연료의 연소특성 평가 (An Evaluation on the Combustion Characteristics of Heavy Oil-Water Emulsions)

  • Most researches regarding emulsified fuel were in the areas of emulsifier, emulsified fuel manufacturing and emulsified fuel droplet combustion, but there were little papers published regarding emulsified fuel combustion and boiler efficiency in an industrial boiler. The main purpose of this study is to clarify whether improvements in the boiler efficiency and the reduction of pollutants such as CO, NOx, SOx and smoke exist or not when emulsified fuels are combusted in the commercial boiler. Main experimental parameters were water content in heavy oil , excess $O_2$, and boiler load. The fuels used in this experiment were 0.5 B-C, and 5 kinds of 0.5 B-C/water emulsified fuels. The combustion characteristics of heavy oil and its emulsions with water were investigated in an industrial boiler. The combustion stability was monitored and exhaust gases such as CO, NOx, SOx and smoke were measured with excess $O_2$ and combustion load. In case of emulsified fuel combustion, flame stability was poor and boiler efficiency was lowered by 1.6~5.7%, but emission levels of CO and smoke were improved.
