  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore health behavior and perception of therapeutic restrictions in chronically ill children and their parents in Korea. Method: Nine children with chronic disease and of six of their parents were interviewed using semi-structured a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using explorative content analysis. Results: Health behaviors related to therapeutic restrictions was classified into four domains, and the perceptions of therapeutic restrictions into two domains. The domains regarding compliance in health behavior with therapeutic restrictions included control-centered restrictions (maintaining food limitations, avoiding harmful environments, restriction on physical activity, restriction on social activity, restriction on learning activity), and everyday pursuit of balance(preference for healthy diet, maintaining a regular life style, maintaining a standard body weight, pursuing psychological well-being, family participation). Domains regarding perception of therapeutic restrictions included obstacles to growth and development (bridled life, opportunity deprivation, prevented from playing proper role), origin of conflict (tenacity, conflict, stressor, cover-up), task for normal life (doing proper duty), and everyday affairs (becoming ordinary, familiarity). Conclusion: This study will help to enhance understanding the behavior and perception of therapeutic restrictions by chronically ill children and their families and to establish educational programs and counseling for these children and their families.

  • This study basically aims to examine how the GBCC system, which has been implemented since 2005 regarding school facilities, is actually being applied to schools and to survey students' satisfaction and awareness of school facilities. Ultimately, this study is to contribute to improving environment-friendly certification indexes and promoting the system. When it comes to research methods, a school with the green building certification and a school without it were selected for comparison, the two schools were visited for the investigation of their actual conditions, and then, based on the results, a survey was conducted for the students of both schools on their satisfaction(POE) of the school facilities, and finally, the results of the two schools were compared with each other and analyzed. The results of this study shows that the facilities of the school with the green building certification are much superior to those of the school without the certification as well as the former has more various facilities then the latter Nonetheless, facilities with the green building certification were found to miss something in terms of maintenance and management. Most of the survey questions show that students of the school with green building certification have higher satisfaction and awareness levels for school facilities than those of the other school students without the certification. However, the difference was a merely relative one, with most students of the school with the certification answering "so so" for their school facilities in terms of absolute evaluation.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the respect for life of nursing students and to prepare the basic data for developing educational programs to establish proper awareness of the life of nursing students and nurturing it. This is a descriptive research study. A total of 146 nursing students were included in this study. Data analysis was performed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The results of this study confirmed the meaning of life, spiritual wellbeing, and attitude toward death as factors influencing respect and will for life. The explanatory power of these three factors was 26.3%. Therefore, nursing students will be able to cultivate respect for life by increasing their understanding of the meaning of life, improving their level of spiritual well-being, and reducing their negative attitudes about death. Also, in order to improve the respect for life of nursing students, it will be possible to develop an intervention program to improve life respect including the factors identified in this study. Ultimately, it is expected to grow into a nurse who can provide real help to patients who are at the end of life or who are dying.

  • As an interest in metaverse increases, there are many studies to apply virtual reality to indirect experiences. Virtual reality is increasingly being used not only for entertainment such as games but also for educational content. A key technology of indirect experience is modeling an object to provide a realistic experience to the user. Natural environments such as tidal flats change with time, and many living things also live there. In this paper, we propose a method for creating experiential content that accurately models the ecological environment of tidal flats. The proposed method explains how to naturally model the temporal change of tidal flats. We also explain how to model a crab, a creature that inhabits the tidal flat, in the forms of an NPC using the behavior tree. Implementation results show that the proposed method uses simple algorithms but expresses the shapes of tidal flats well.

  • Virtual reality is actively applied in the fields of games, entertainment, communication, sports, and architecture. In particular, many virtual reality-based education systems are being developed in the field of education, creating efficient learning effects. In addition, virtual reality-based education is used in areas such as maintenance, fighter control, medical care, and firefighting as it can maximize the educational effect through the mastery process of the function itself through the curriculum as well as indirect experiences of dangerous situations that are difficult to experience. However, due to technical limitations, lack of contents, and lack of theoretical research, the level of application of military education and training is still insufficient. This paper aim to contribute to the development of a virtual reality-based education system as a military training system by developing a high-quality drop training system applicable to military group descent training, studying key technologies and implementation methods necessary for development.

  • Graduate well-being is foundational to academic success, and they are becoming more and more vulnerable. This is as they suffer from mental health challenges like anxiety and depression at rates six times higher than the general population. When the nature of their educational experience changes, such as when they had to stay in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, the stress on their mental health increases. The number of cases of emotional wellness among university students is considered a public health problem, but these young people often do not seek appropriate treatment. This study, therefore, aims to identify the influence of health behavior factors on graduate emotional wellness. This study used a questionnaire with a cross-sectional survey design. Questionnaires were distributed online to graduates from selected Private and Public Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. The Partial Least Square Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the results of the study. Overall findings indicate that the health behavior factors have a significant influence on graduate emotional wellness. The findings from this study will benefit the management, academics, counselors, and other entities, including the Students' Representative Council, in identifying ways to improve services and upgrade the necessary facilities to enhance the graduate's emotional wellness.

  • In this study, the village development promotion system was reorganized for Gimhae-si, and improvement plans and post-operation management plans were prepared through expert surveys. Through the Village Development Project, the landscape and environment of the village were improved, and the village and residents were positively changed. The Village Development Project laid the foundation for regional revitalization, giving the next generation hope for the sustainable development of the village. While maintaining the framework of the existing Rural Development Projects guidelines through case analysis of other regions, we operate educational programs for each stage by reflecting regional characteristics, and utilize and communicate with intermediate support organizations, systematically operate, and actively intervene by Eup·Myeon administration. In addition, as a follow-up management program, various follow-up management programs were being operated, such as support for capacity building such as consulting, as well as facility maintenance and support for village managers. As a result of the expert survey to review the adequacy of the improvement plan, the improvement plan derived from the overall average of 4.28 points and the standard deviation of 0 to 0.94 points for the process is judged to be appropriate. In particular, the item of 'self-reliance stage follow-up management' was very important as all experts responded with 5 points. By establishing the village development performance goals, we tried to check whether the qualitative/quantitative goals were achieved by year, and to secure quantified status data in response to changes such as resetting performance goals or adding new performance indicators. In this study, in order to improve the capacity to achieve regional development in response to the rural agreement, we prepared our own sustainable village development promotion system, governance establishment, and follow-up management plan. In addition, it is expected to be used as a reference material for the selection of new districts and the follow-up management of completed districts by establishing the village development goals.

  • Successful sediment management at the watershed scale requires an understanding of the erosion, transport and sedimentation processes at the specific site scale. However, studies on the sediment runoff characteristics in a small uppermost watershed, which serves as a sediment supply function, are very rare. Therefore, this study attempted to investigate the fluctuations in major sediment supply areas and sediment runoff in the uppermost mountain small watershed, and for this purpose, ArcSWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tools with GIS interface) was applied to the Woldong reservoir catchment located in Gosam-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. The model results were manually calibrated using the monitoring data of the Woldong reservoir sedimentation rate from 2005 to 2007. It was estimated that annual average of 34.4 tons/year of sediment was discharged from the Woldong reservoir basin. This estimate almost coincided with the monitoring data of the Woldong reservoir during the low flow period but tended to be somewhat underestimated during the high flow period. Although the SWAT model does not fully reflect the erosion process of gully and in-channel, this underestimation is probably due to the spatial connectivity of sediment transport and the storage and reactivation of the sediment being transported. Most of the forested hillslopes with a well-developed organic horizon were evaluated as having a low risk of erosion, while the places with the highest risk of erosion were predicted to be distributed in the logged area with some weeds or shrubs (classified as pasture) with relatively steeper slopes, and in the bare land. The results of this study are expected to be useful in developing strategies for sediment control and reservoir management.
