초등과학교육 연구의 동향 (Overview on Research Trend in the Journal of Korean Elementary Science Education)

  • The Journal of Korean Elementary Science Education has been developed in both quantitative and qualitative aspects during twenty years since first published year 1983. This study was intended to survey the research trend of the journals, which has been published so far. It will give an orientation of science education research and suggestions towards research to improve science education. The 243 articles of the journals, which were published from 1983 to 2002 by Korean Elementary Science Education Society, were classified into 7 categories including science teaching, science learning, assessment in science, science teacher education, science curriculum, educational facilities & materials, and general science education. The results are as follows: 1. The articles published last decade are increased four times compared with the first decade. 2. The half of articles published so far concentrated on science teaching and learning. The articles on educational facilities & materials or general science education are few. 3. During the last decade, the articles on science teacher education, educational facilities & materials, assessment in science, and science learning relatively increased than the first decade. The number of articles on science curriculum was fluctuated every five years. 4. Most of articles were focused on the narrow subject areas. For example, the articles on science teaching, science learning, assessment in science, science teacher education, science curriculum, and educational facilities & materials were largely focused on the teaching strategies, pupils' conception, affective assessment and teaching practice survey, teachers' appreciation about the nature of science or instruction, analysis of science textbooks, development of the experimental materials or the audiovisual aids respectively. 5. The subject areas highlighted so far in science education, for example, inquiry or experimental activities, STS instruction, environmental education, gifted education, instruction with multimedia, problem-solving or reasoning, experimental skill assessment, etc. were not much researched.

Investigation of the Goals of Graduate Engineering Education

  • Following the collaborator meetings report towards practical engineering education at universities(June 2010), the Pioneering University Reform Project supported by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) of Japan solicited opinions from industry, professional associations, and academia on the goals of the individual fields, as well as common goals, that could be adaptable and applicable for a broad range of universities and curricula. This paper gives an overview of two surveys that were conducted, as well as a summary of the mechanical engineering goals as an example of the individual fields.

  • We can understand in the context of kant's philosophy the intuitive geometry education arguing that geometry education should begin with intuition. Both Pestalozzi and Herbart advocate a connection between geometry and intuition as well as a close relationship between geometry and the world. Significance of the intuitive geometry education resizes in the fact that geometry becomes both an example of and a principle of general cognition. The intuitive geometry education uses figures as an educational foundation in the transcendental condition for the main agent of cognition. In this regard, the intuitive geometry education provides grounds for the human character development.

수학자가 수학을 탐구하듯이 학습자도 수학을 탐구할 수 있는 방안 모색 (A Paper on the Pedagogy Focused in the Mathematical Thinking Mathematicians used)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a teaching method which is focused on the mathematical thinking skills such as the use of induction, counter example, analogy, and so on mathematicians use when they explore their research fields. Many have indicated that students have learned mathematics exploring to use very different methods mathematicians have done and suggested students explore as they do. In the first part of the paper, the plausible whole processes from the beginning time they get a rough idea to a refined mathematical truth. In the second part, an example with Euler characteristic of 1. In the third, explaining the same processes with ${\pi}$, a model modified from the processes is designed. It is hoped that the suggested model, focused on a variety of mathematical thinking, helps students learn mathematics with understanding and with the association of exploring entertainment.

수학교사의 전문성 개발을 위한 사례방법 (Case-Method for Mathematics Teacher Professional Development)

  • In this study, we introduced the concept of ‘case-method’ which is the method to discuss about actual education with a concrete case. And we suggested that case-method need to be applied a program for mathematics teacher professional development. To assist this suggestion, we attempted to examine recent mathematics educational studies that is written by case-study and topics that is included in mathematics teacher educational program. After these examination, we pointed out that case-method with a educational case have not applied in teacher education program in korea. According to the suggestion in this study, we showed a concrete example of case-method. In this example, we set up three perspectives(on general theory of mathematics education, on contents of given case, on application given case to own class) to analysis given case and revealed several disscussion topics each perspective. Finally, we referred to the following research of this paper.

  • In early 20th century, This study focus on exploration of a education for office design This class is focused on planning an office space. Selection of the right places, Setting a concept room plans, and such are studied along with systematically analyzing spaces. Applying concepts, interior plans, interior elements, color and selection of materials are introduced and developed into systematical plans. And the students produce efficiently a portfolio by complementing and/or developing the visual materials and readjusting all the concept of the accomplished assignments during this course that were presented visually by applying techniques of presentation leaned majoring in interior design, in an aesthetical and creative ways.

  • 교정선교의 새로운 모형은 미국의 대중적인 투옥의 시기에 중요한 것이다. 교정선교의 잠재적인 형태는 수형자들의 수가 증가함에 따라 새로운 주목을 받고 있다. 이 논문에서 연구자는 뉴저지의 교정선교에 집중하는데, 전통적인 교정선교에 참여하는 복음주의 기독교인들이 수형자들의 마음을 적극적으로 개방하고 공동체의 변형을 위해서 개인의 회심을 초월하는 종교교육의 모형을 제시하는 것이다. 연구자는 여리고 선교의 명칭을 지닌 새로운 복음주의 집단의 사례를 제시한다. 교정 선교는 결과적으로 동정을 나누는 것이 아니라, 정의의 실천이며 실현인 것이다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 수학교과서 2학년에서 삼각형의 개념을 지도하기 위하여 제시하고 있는 예를 분석하고, 학생들에게 도형의 개념 지도에 있어서의 예 공간의 의미와 시사점을 제시하는데 있다. 한국에서 수학교과서는 교수-학습 과정에서 주요한 자료의 하나로 교실에서의 교수-학습 방법과 질에 큰 영향을 주게 된다. 그런데 초등학교 수학교과서에 나타난 삼각형 개념의 제시는 제한된 예 공간에서의 예들을 제시하고 있다. 학생들로 하여금 삼각형의 개념을 보다 명확히 이해하도록 돕기 위해서 교과서에서 보다 풍부한 예들의 제공할 필요가 있고 학습자로 하여금 보다 풍부한 예 공간의 생성 및 교실에서의 교수-학습과의 연계성의 연구가 필요함을 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, we prove some common fixed point theorems for finite number of discontinuous, non-compatible mapping on non-complete intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces and obtain the example. Our research improve, extend and generalize several known results in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces.
