The Application of Dyadic Wavelet In the RS Image Edge Detection

  • In the edge detection of RS image, the useful detail losing and the spurious edge often appear. To solve the problem, we use the dyadic wavelet to detect the edge of surface features by combining the edge detecting with the multi-resolution analyzing of the wavelet transform. Via the dyadic wavelet decomposing, we obtain the RS image of a certain appropriate scale, and figure out the edge data of the plane and the upright directions respectively, then work out the grads vector module of the surface features, at last by tracing them we get the edge data of the object therefore build the RS image which obtains the checked edge. This method can depress the effect of noise and examine exactly the edge data of the object by rule and line. With an experiment of a RS image which obtains an airport, we certificate the feasibility of the application of dyadic wavelet in the object edge detection.

  • Edge detection is an important problem in computer vision and image understanding. Because the threshold is difficult to properly determine, edge images gained by the usually gradient-based segmentation methods are often tend to have many disjoint or overlapping boundaries, which makes the edge images spinous. In this paper, a practical multilevel morphological filter is presented for smoothing spinous edge images. The experimental results show that the method is effective in dealing with the images of a target in the sky.

  • The edge detection system makes use or 3*3 compass gradient masks, which are well suited for digital implementation. Edge angles are quantized to eight equally spaced directions, suitable for chain coding of contours. Use of edge direction msp improves the simple thresholding of gradient modulus image. The concept of local connectivity of the edge direction map is useful improving the performance of this method as well as other edge operators such as Kirsch and Sobel.

  • Color image edge detection is an important operation in many image processing areas. This paper presents a new method for edge detection based on the Bhattacharyya distance that can handle arbitrary boundaries by exploring several edge patterns. Experiments show promising results compared to some existing methods.

  • 선형과 천해 edge wave로 구분되는 이들의 거동을 더 잘 이해하기 위해 비교하였다. 본 연구에서는 변수분리법을 사용하여, Ursell (1952)이 해의 유도과정 없이 제시한, 선형 edge wave의 해를 얻었다. 천해 edge wave는 비록 천해방정식으로부터 유도되지만 분산특성을 갖는다. 완만한 해저경사의 경우, 천해 파형은 선형 파형과 거의 같게 되고 천해 파형은 다루기가 쉬운 장점이 있다. Gaussian 분포형태의 이동체에 의해 생성되는 edge wave를 계산하기 위해 천해 고유파형으로 전개한 해를 구성하였고, 이에 대한 결과를 제시하고 특성을 기술하였다.

  • Leading front of a lifted diffusion flame in turbulent mixing layer was investigated in order to find a appropriate definition of the turbulent edge propagation speed. The turbulent lifted diffusion flame was simulated by employing the flame hole dynamics combined with level-set method which yields a temporally evolving turbulent extinction process. By tracing the leading front locations of the temporal flame edges, temporal variations of the liftoff height, local flow velocity, and edge propagation speed at the leading front were investigated and they demonstrated the flame-stabilization condition of the turbulent lifted flame. Finally, a turbulent edge propagation speed was defined and its temporal variation from the simulation was discussed.

지형 데이터의 효율적 단순화 (Efficient Simplification of a Height Map)

  • Presented in the paper is a procedure to extract simplified triangular mesh from a height map (terrain data). The proposed algorithm works directly on a height map that extracts a simplified triangular mesh. For the simplification, the paper employs an iterative method of edge contractions. To determine an edge to be contracted, the contraction cost of an edge is evaluated through the QEM method. Normally, an edge contraction will remove two triangles sharing the edge. Although the edge contraction can be implemented easily on a triangular mesh, it is not viable to implement the operation on a height map due to the irregular topology. To handle the irregular topology during the simplification procedure, a new algorithm is introduced.

이동카메라에서 이동물체 감지를 위한 배경에지 생성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Background Edge Generation for Moving Object Detection under Moving Camera)

  • 본 논문에서는 이동 카메라를 이용하여 얻은 영상에서 이동 물체 자동 검출 알고리즘을 위한 배경 에지 생성을 제시한다. 배경 영상은 삼각대 위에 고정시킨 카메라를 수평방향으로 회전하여 얻은 영상을 정렬시켜 재구성하여 만든다. 입력영상과 배경영상간의 에지 매칭 방법과 함께 강건한 파노라믹 배경 에지 생성을 위한 효율적인 방법을 제시한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 실제 영상 열에 적용하였다. 제안된 방법은 비디오 감시는 물론 침입자 검출과 같은 여러 감시 시스템에 성공적으로 이용될 수 있다.

  • A two-dimensional numerical method for inviscid two-fluid flows with evolution of density interface is developed, and an initially stationary two-dimensional fluid sheet surrounded by another fluid is studied. The Interface between two fluids is modeled as a vertex sheet, and the flow field u÷th the evolution of interface is solved by using vortex-in-cell/front-tracking method. The edge of the sheet Is pulled back into the sheet due to surface tension and a blob is formed at the edge. This blob and fluid sheet are connected by a thin neck. In the inviscid limit, such process of the blob and neck formation is examined in detail and their kinematic characteristics are summarized with dimensionless parameters. The edge recedes at $V=1.06({\sigma}/{\rho}h)^{0.5}$ and the capillary wave Propagating into the fluid sheet must be considered for bettor understanding of the edge receding.

의학 영상에서의 영역 기반 해상도대잡음비 향상 (Region Based Contrast-to-Noise Ratio Enhancement for Medical Images)

  • The modified Wiener filtering method is proposed for effective noise suppression in edge region of images corrupted by additive white gaussian noise. Although the pixels classified as a edge region in the conventional Wiener filter have lots of noise components, the conventional Wiener filter cannot remove noise effectively due to the preserving of edges. To reduce noise well in edge region, we modify filter coefficients of the conventional Wiener filter. The modified filter coefficients increase in noise suppression effect in edge region, while they preserve edges for strong edge region. From simulation (256${\times}$256 size, 256 graylevel images) filtered images by the proposed method show much improved subjective image quality with higher peak signal-to-noise ratio compared to those by the conventional Wiener filtering.
