  • In the field of augmented reality, edge-based methods have been popularly used in tracking textureless 3D objects. However, edge-based methods are inherently vulnerable to cluttered backgrounds. Another way to track textureless or poorly-textured 3D objects is to directly align image intensity of 3D object between consecutive frames. Although the direct methods enable more reliable and stable tracking compared to using local features such as edges, they are more sensitive to occlusion and less accurate than the edge-based methods. Therefore, we propose a method that combines an edge-based method and a direct method to leverage the advantages from each approach. Experimental results show that the proposed method is much robust to both fast camera (or object) movements and occlusion while still working in real time at a frame rate of 18 Hz. The tracking success rate and tracking accuracy were improved by up to 84% and 1.4 pixels, respectively, compared to using the edge-based method or the direct method solely.

  • We propose a simple method for tracking a nonparameterized subject contour in a single video stream with a moving camera and changing background. Then we present a method to eliminate the tracked contour object by replacing with the background scene we get from other frame. Our method consists of two parts: first we track the object using LOD (Level-of-Detail) canny edge maps, then we generate background of each image frame and replace the tracked object in a scene by a background image from other frame that is not occluded by the tracked object. Our tracking method is based on level-of-detail (LOD) modified Canny edge maps and graph-based routing operations on the LOD maps. To reduce side-effects because of irrelevant edges, we start our basic tracking by using strong Canny edges generated from large image intensity gradients of an input image. We get more edge pixels along LOD hierarchy. LOD Canny edge pixels become nodes in routing, and LOD values of adjacent edge pixels determine routing costs between the nodes. We find the best route to follow Canny edge pixels favoring stronger Canny edge pixels. Our accurate tracking is based on reducing effects from irrelevant edges by selecting the stronger edge pixels, thereby relying on the current frame edge pixel as much as possible. This approach is based on computing camera motion. Our experimental results show that our method works nice for moderate camera movement with small object shape changes.

  • One of the key technologies in edge computing is that it always provides services close to the user by moving data between edge servers according to the user's movements. As such, the movement of data between edge servers is frequent. As IoT technology advances and usage areas expand, the data generated also increases, requiring technology to accurately track and process each data to properly manage the data present in the edge computing environment. Currently, cloud systems do not have data disposal technology based on tracking technology for data movement and distribution in their environment, so users cannot see where it is now, whether it is properly removed or not left in the cloud system if users request it to be deleted. In this paper, we propose a tracking data server to create and manage the movement and distribution of data for each edge server and data stored in the central cloud in an edge computing environment.

  • This paper presents the moving object detection and tracking algorithm using edge information base on human perceptual system The human visual system recognizes shapes and objects easily and rapidly. It's believed that perceptual organization plays on important role in human perception. It presents edge model(GCS) base on extracted feature by perceptual organization principal and extract edge information by definition of the edge model. Through such human perception system I have introduced the technique in which the computers would recognize the moving object from the edge information just like humans would recognize the moving object precisely.

  • This paper introduces a partial edge detection technique, that improves the processing time of an automatic change tracking system for multi-temporal images. In the conventional change tracking systems for multi-temporal images, the edge detection is performed over the whole image. In the proposed method, however, the necessary portions for the edge detection is selected first and the edge detection is performed over the selected parts only. As a consequence, the improvement in the processing time could be achieved. The proposed change tracking system is expected to be utilized as a very efficient tool to configure changes in large data set such as remotely sensed satellite imagery or geophysical time laps images.

  • In a conventional camera system, a target tracking system consists of a camera part and a image processing part. However, in the field of the real time image processing, the vision chip for edge detection which was made by imitating the algorithm of humanis retina is superior to the conventional digital image processing systems because the human retina uses the parallel information processing method. In this paper, we present a high speed target tracking system using the function of the CMOS vision chip for edge detection.

  • A model based approach of tracking the limbs of a walking human subject is proposed in this paper. The tracking process begins by building a data base composed of conditional probabilities of motions between the limbs of a walking subject. With a suitable amount of video footage from various human subjects included in the database, a probabilistic model characterizing the relationships between motions of limbs is developed. The motion tracking of a test subject begins with identifying and tracking limbs from the surveillance video image using the edge and silhouette detection methods. When occlusion occurs in any of the limbs being tracked, the approach uses the probabilistic motion model in conjunction with the minimum cost based edge and silhouette tracking model to determine the motion of the limb occluded in the image. The method has shown promising results of tracking occluded limbs in the validation tests.

  • Recently, correlation filter based trackers have shown excellent tracking performance and computational efficiency. In order to enhance tracking performance in the correlation filter based tracker, search area which is image patch for finding target must include target. In this paper, two methods to discriminatively represent target in the search area are proposed. Firstly, search area location is estimated using pyramidal Lucas-Kanade algorithm. By estimating search area location before filtering, fast motion target can be included in the search area. Secondly, we investigate multi-channel Local Edge Pattern(LEP) which is insensitive to illumination and noise variation. Qualitative and quantitative experiments are performed with eight dataset, which includes ground truth. In comparison with method without search area estimation, our approach retain tracking for the fast motion target. Additionally, the proposed multi-channel LEP improves discriminative performance compare to existing features.

  • A two-dimensional numerical method for inviscid two-fluid flows with evolution of density interface is developed, and an initially stationary two-dimensional fluid sheet surrounded by another fluid is studied. The Interface between two fluids is modeled as a vertex sheet, and the flow field u÷th the evolution of interface is solved by using vortex-in-cell/front-tracking method. The edge of the sheet Is pulled back into the sheet due to surface tension and a blob is formed at the edge. This blob and fluid sheet are connected by a thin neck. In the inviscid limit, such process of the blob and neck formation is examined in detail and their kinematic characteristics are summarized with dimensionless parameters. The edge recedes at $V=1.06({\sigma}/{\rho}h)^{0.5}$ and the capillary wave Propagating into the fluid sheet must be considered for bettor understanding of the edge receding.

  • In this paper, we propose a method that is tracking an object in real time using particle filter and the observation model with edge. First of all, the proposed method defines the object to be tracked in the initial frame. Then, it generates the edge observation model for the object to be tracked and a set of particles. It calculates the weight by comparing the average of the middle distance in eight-way of particle filter edge model with that in edge observation model, and then updates the weight with the calculated value. After resampling particles using the updated weights, it estimates the current location of the tracked object. Finally, this paper demonstrates the performance of the stable tracking through comparison with the existing method by using a number of experimental data.
