  • The information on the economic value of industrial water use is widely demanded in policy analysis area as well as academic research area. Therefore, this study attempts to obtain more accurate economic value of industrial water use using the economic theory. To this end, we conducted a survey of 1,017 manufacturing firms and estimated the economic value of industrial water use based on the concept of value of marginal product (VMP). Moreover, this study tried to estimate the VMP of three industrial water types, river water, precipitated water, and purified water. The results show that the VMPs of river water, precipitated water and purified water are estimated to be 769.24 won/$m^3$, 896.76 won/$m^3$ and 1,861.95 won/$m^3$, respectively. The value for the precipitated water found in this study is not significantly different from that (885.1 won/$m^3$) used in the pre-feasibility test implemented by Korea Development Institute (KDI). These imply that the latter is appropriate for evaluating the economic benefit of supplying industrial water, though it is based on 2003 Industry Survey.

  • The economic effects of informatization are differently occurred according to industry types. Thus an evaluation methodology which reflects the industry type characteristics of informatization is needed. In this paper, we develop and analyze the indices for evaluating economic effects through informatization according to industry types, such as manufacturing, construction, financial services and marketing services. The factors related to performance of enterprise informatization can be defined as cost factors, effect factors, risk factors and influence factors. Effect factors are defined as quantitative or qualitative performance of informatization and classified into operational effect factors and strategic effect factors. The influence factor is defined as characteristics of informatization for industry types, that is, value chain of business and business products or services. Economic effect indices are classified according to the activity of business value chain. Economic effects indices of this research can be expected to play a role of general and standardized factors for economic evaluation of industry informatization.

  • Consumer researchers' growing interest in consumer experience has revealed that many consumption activities produce both hedonic and utilitarian outcomes. The personal shopping value also has both hedonic and utilitarian dimension. This article describes the effect of socio-economic variables and materialism on hedonic and utilitarian shopping value. 820 middle, high and college students in Seoul and Ulsan were surveyed. A moderate degree of positive intercorrelation between hedonic and utilitarian shopping value support the trend of consumption ambivalence. Materialism is positively related to hedonic and utilitarian shopping value. While age is negatively related to utilitarian shopping value, it is unrelated to hedonic shopping value. The mean scores of hedonic and utilitarian shopping value in Ulsan is higher than in Seoul.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of risk factor model for the Jordanian banking stocks from 2006 to 2018. This study employs the Five-factor Fama and French's (2015) methodology and uses the annual returns of all Jordanian banks including 2 Islamic and 13 commercial banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) over a period of 13 years. The results show that the factors of value and profitability have an important role in evaluating the expected return in Jordanian banking stocks. Moreover, the value HML and profitability RMW factors provide the highest cumulative returns among these five factors, while the investment CMA and size SMB factors are still around zero cumulative returns. For the market factor, it provides the least negative cumulative returns. The results showed that the largest correlation is between value and investment factors which means that banks with a high book to market value become banks with a conservative investment strategy. The result of the sub-periods confirmed the value and profitability results. The findings of this study suggest that the five-factor Fama and French model is the choice of building an investment portfolio, especially the factors of value and profitability.

  • This study examines and analyzes the effect of innovation on the price to book value mediated by managerial ownership in Indonesian companies. In order to achieve the goals and objectives, the company increases its value by increasing shareholders. Improving the welfare of shareholders can be done through investment and financial policies, and is reflected in share prices in the capital market. The higher the share price, the better the owner's welfare, and the company's value will also increase. The population of this study is the manufacturing companies - as many as 162 - listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012-2017. By using a purposive sampling method, 25 companies met the criteria for the sample. The data comes from the companies' annual report taken from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. The data is further analyzed using partial least square (PLS). The results of the study showed that innovation has a significant effect on price to book value. The companies with high marketing innovation produce high company performance as well. The companies get a commensurate reward from marketing innovation activities to carry out continuous marketing innovations. In addition, managerial ownership does not mediate the relationship between innovation and price to book value.

  • In environmental value education, the difference between Ecological and Economic view-point about environmentmust should be considered. Usually, although the differences are unavoidable, because our lifes are inclined to Economic life. But this propensity have become great obstacles to Environmental value education by diluting the fundamental reasons which the nature should be preserved. Furthermore we can't say that environmental problems are not solved just by economic approach, owing to its limits of solving by incentives. So we can say that it is very important to have equalized view-points in the relations of economics and ecology for balanced environmental value education. This study is to alternative environmental value education program, to have equalized view-points in the relations of economics and ecology through the small community located in Japan. The exact name of that program is GENSANGGAI. They have persued to attain a spiritual state of complete absence of ego through this program, and this spiritual state can be important environmental value educaton goal, which make the student to see the evironment with equalized view-points in the interdependence between economics and ecology. we can say that this program can be a kind affective (sentimentally perceived) environmental education program. It can be good environmental education program in affective domain. we can say that equalized view-points is to attain a spiritual state of complete absence of ego. This program is some similar to Kohlberg's latter term theory and Open educationin theory in substantial aspect, he persued Just Community Approach through Kibbutz in Israel. From the basis of his theory, if the GENSANGGAI program, which means harmony between socialization and development of moral stage, individualism and communism.

  • It is quite important for manufacturing firms to stably secure water, because industrial water is used for a variety of purposes as one of the important inputs in the production process. Despite the significance of industrial water use and the increase of industrial water demand, relatively little has studied regarding the industrial water use in Korea. This paper employs the marginal productivity approach in order to estimate the economic value of water in Korean manufacturing industry, and we use the information of 53,912 factories surveyed in 2003. The result of the likelihood ratio test shows that Trans-log is an appropriate model for estimating the data of this study. In Trans-log function model, the industry-wide output elasticity of water is 0.0104, and the marginal value is KRW 1,156 per ton. The estimated values differ across the sectors and these values range from the high value of about KRW 13,760 per ton in the transportation equipment sector to low values of KRW 428 per ton in the precision instrument sector. The research provides useful information to help policy-makers in developing and implementing more appropriate policies regarding the management and distribution of water resources by estimating the value of water resources by sector. In addition, Korean government enables the drafting of future water pricing scenarios based on the estimated value information.
