  • There are many method to evaluate the economic value and non-economic value for information service. But we have a difficult problem to estimate the economic value of information objectively because we don't have a comparable value correspondent to the value of information service. Here, we proposed a method to evaluate for the value of information with the survey and discussed the model of the measure of non-economic value with weighted wages.

  • This article examines the link between regional disparity and social mobility in India. There has been a steady rise in economic inequality in India. The rapid economic growth coupled with a rise in income inequality is a serious concern in India. While the emphasis is on inclusive growth, it appears difficult to tackle the problem without looking at the intricacies of the problem. The Social Mobility Index is an important tool that focuses on bringing long-term equality by identifying priority policy areas in the country. We used a multivariate statistical approach to construct a social mobility index at the regional level by considering several social and economic variables. Our findings show that while the Union Territory of Delhi ranks first in the social mobility index, Chhattisgarh has the least social mobility. From a policy perspective, a comprehensive examination of the determinants of the social mobility index shows that health, education access, and quality, and equity of education are of great importance in improving social mobility. Considering India's potential economic growth resulting from its 'demographic dividend' and improved access, markets, and technology, increasing social mobility through facilitating equal opportunities in society is key to achieving inclusive growth.

  • Hopfield neural network has been applied to the problem of economic load dispatch(ELD) of electric power. The optimum values of neuron potentials are represented in terms of large numbers. The differential synchronous transition mode is used in this simulation. Through case studies, we have shown the possibility of the application of neural network to ELD. In case of including the transmission losses, the proposed method has an advantage that the problem can be solved simply with one neural network, without calculating incremental fuel costs and incremental losses required by traditional method.

  • This he problem of youth unemployment is already a very serious social problem at home and abroad, and entrepreneurship, which is one of the ways to solve the problem of youth unemployment, has been studied with interest from various fields. Entrepreneurship not only overcomes the economic crisis, but also plays a role in nurturing innovative talents in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. For this reason, it can be said that research for activating entrepreneurship for college students is very important. The purpose of this study is to examine how individual entrepreneurial orientation and goal orientation affect economic entrepreneurial motivation and non-economic entrepreneurial motivation in order to confirm the effect of college students' economic entrepreneurial motivation and non-economic entrepreneurial motivation. In addition, in the relationship between individual entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial motivation (economical and non-economic), we will examine whether goal orientation has a mediating effect. As a result of the study, first, it was confirmed that the individual entrepreneurial orientation of university students had a positive (+) effect on the goal orientation. Second, it was confirmed that the goal orientation of college students had a positive (+) effect on economic entrepreneurial motivation and positive (+) influence on non-economic entrepreneurial motivation. third, it was confirmed that the individual entrepreneurial orientation of college students had a positive (+) effect on economic entrepreneurial motivation, and a positive (+) effect on non-economic entrepreneurial motivation. Fourth, it was confirmed that college students' goal orientation had a mediating effect in the relationship between individual entrepreneurial orientation and economic entrepreneurial motivation, and also had a mediating effect in the relationship between individual entrepreneurial orientation and non-economic entrepreneurial motivation.

  • This paper presents the newly developed Pareto-based multi-objective Bees Algorithm with weighted sum technique for solving a power system multi-objective nonlinear optimization problem. Specifically, the Pareto-based Bees Algorithm with memorized zone has been developed to alleviate both difficulties from classical techniques and intelligent techniques for multi-objective problems (MOP) and successfully applied to an Environmental/Economic (electric power) dispatch (EED) problem. This multi-objective Bees Algorithm has been examined and applied to the standard IEEE 30-bus six-generator test system. Simulation results have been compared to those obtained using other approaches. The comparison shows the potential and effectiveness of the proposed Bees Algorithm for solving the multi-objective EED problem.

  • When applying capacitors to distribution line, an effort must be made to determine the economic benefits resulting from the installation of a capacitor. There have been many papers and articles published on the economics of capacitors. Most of these are special cases, or have so many qualifications that they are not much use for other cases unless very careful attention is given to minute details. A general economic analysis on a distribution line is very complicated problem. Consequently, a diagram solution is illustrated for determining the economic condenser and applying resonably well for the distribution line with any load division.

  • Based on the requirements and characteristics of multi-zone autonomous decision-making in modern power system, fully distributed computing methods are needed to optimize the economic dispatch (ED) problem coordination of multi-regional power system on the basis of constructing decomposition and interaction mechanism. In this paper, four fully distributed methods based on alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) are used for solving the ED problem in distributed manner. By duplicating variables, the 2-block classical ADMM can be directly used to solve ED problem fully distributed. The second method is employing ADMM to solve the dual problem of ED in fully distributed manner. N-block methods based on ADMM including Alternating Direction Method with Gaussian back substitution (ADM_G) and Exchange ADMM (E_ADMM) are employed also. These two methods all can solve ED problem in distributed manner. However, the former one cannot be carried out in parallel. In this paper, four fully distributed methods solve the ED problem in distributed collaborative manner. And we also discussed the difference of four algorithms from the aspects of algorithm convergence, calculation speed and parameter change. Some simulation results are reported to test the performance of these distributed algorithms in serial and parallel.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify regional differences in problem drinking among adult males in single-person households and predict the determinants. Methods: This study used data from the 2019 Community Health Survey. Geographically weighted regression analysis was performed on 8,625 adult males in single-person households who had been consuming alcohol for the past year. The Si-Gun-Gu was selected as the spatial unit. Results: The top 10 regions for problem drinking among adult males in single-person households were located in the Jeju-do and Jeollanam-do areas near the southern coast, whereas the bottom 10 regions were located in the Incheon and northern Gyeonggi-do areas. Smoking, economic activity, and educational level were common factors affecting problem drinking among this population. Among the determinants of regional disparities in problem drinking among adult males in single-person households, personal factors included age, smoking, depression level, economic activity, educational level, and leisure activity, while regional factors included population and karaoke venue ratio. Conclusion: Problem drinking among adult males in single-person households varies by region, and the variables affecting each particular area differ. Therefore, it is necessary to develop interventions tailored to individuals and regions that reflect the characteristics of each region by prioritizing smoking, economic activity, and educational level as the common factors.

  • Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) is applied for solving Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) problem with valve-point loading of thermal generators. This CEED problem with valve-point loading is a nonlinear, constrained multi-objective optimization problem, with power balance and generator capacity constraints. The valve-point loading introduce ripples in the input-output characteristics of generating units and make the CEED problem as a nonsmooth optimization problem. To validate its effectiveness of NSGA-II, two benchmark test systems, IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems are considered. To compare the Pareto-front obtained using NSGA-II, reference Pareto-front is generated using multiple runs of Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) with weighted sum of objectives. Comparison with other optimization techniques showed the superiority of the NSGA-II approach and confirmed its potential for solving the CEED problem. Numerical results show that NSGA-II algorithm can provide Pareto-front in a single run with good diversity and convergence. An approach based on Technique for Ordering Preferences by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is applied on non-dominated solutions obtained to determine Best Compromise Solution (BCS).
