경제동물의 주요 경제형질에 대한 표지인자를 이용한 선발(MAS)의 효율성 (Efficiency of Marker Assisted Selection(MAS) over The Phenotypic Selection for Economic Traits in Economic Animals)

  • 유전표지인자를 이용한 선발(marker assisted selection; MAS)과 전통적인 표현형기록에 근거한 반응의 비교분석을 위하여 고정효과모델(deterministic model)을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 하였다. 자신의 단일 기록을 이용한 경우와 자신의 기록과 자신의 표지인자 정보를 이용할 경우 유전력이 높을수록 MAS의 효율성이 38%정도 높게 나타났다. 그러나 유전력이 높은 경우(50%) MAS의 효율성은 약 1%정도로서 효율성이 대단히 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 자신의 기록과 부모의 표현형 정보에 표지인자 정보를 추가할 경우 MAS의 효율성은 27% 정도였으며 마찬가지로 유전력이 높은 경우에는 효율성이 0에 가깝게 나타났다. MAS의 효율성은 유전력이 낮을수록 그리고 이용한 표지인자의 유전적 변이가 클수록 효율성이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.

The path analysis of carbon emission reduction: A case study of the Silk Road Economic Belt

  • This paper uses super-efficiency DEA model and Malmquist index to evaluate the carbon emission efficiency (CEE) values of the nine western provinces along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" for the period from 2000 to 2015, and analyses the influencing factors of the CEE. The major findings of this study are the following: (1) the overall CEE of the nine western provinces is not high, and there are significant inter-provincial differences in the CEE. Meanwhile, the provinces with higher levels of economic development generally have higher CEE. (2) The annual total factor productivity (TFP) of the nine western provinces, which is mainly determined by technological change, is greater than 1. Moreover, the total average growth rate of the TFP is 15.5%. (3) The CEE of the nine western provinces is not spatially dependent. In addition, the urbanization, openness, use of energy-saving technologies and research and development (R&D) investment have a significant positive impact on the CEE values, while the industrial structure, foreign direct investment, fixed asset investment, government expenditure levels and energy structure have a significant negative impact on the CEE. Among them, R&D investment is the primary factor in promoting the development of CEE, and the government expenditure has the greatest negative impact on the CEE.

Emergy 분석법에 의한 제조업의 환경친화성지수 개발 (Development of Environmental Responsibility Index for the Manufacturing Industry by Emergy Analysis)

  • Emergy is a measure of the processes required to produce something expressed in units of the same energy form. Emergy based indices can provide insights into the thermodynamic efficiency of the process, the quality of its output, and the interaction between the process and its surrounding environment. However, in an industrial system, the inputs are mostly nonrenewable, renewable energy source is nearly zero, ultimate purpose is pursuit of profits in economic activity. In study, we present two indices based on emergy - EEE(Ecological Economic Efficiency) and ERI(Environmental Responsibility Index). The EEE is taken into account real value of product in market economy. The ERI is shown to be a function of the net yield of the economy, its ‘load’ on the environment and ecological economic efficiency. Manufacturing industry of Korea produced the 30% of total GDP in 2001. We applied these indices to manufacturing industry for environmental management and further sustainable industry. As a results, the highest ERI is 0.34 in recycling industries, the lowest ERI is 0.01 in coke, refined petroleum products which is dominated by ELR. The higher ERI, the more friendly to environment. The suggested indices help us understand relative contributions of various alternatives in company's production and consumption activity, and provide a tool of decision-making for the rearrangement of future industries. Furthermore, they contribute to environmental friendly operation and consumption.

한·미간 FDI 매력도 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on FDI Attractiveness Index between Korea and the United States)

  • The scale of global FDI has been decreasing since 2016 due to the ongoing US-China trade dispute, the strengthening of FDI inflow screening regulations with concern over strategic technology leaks, and the spread of reshoring trends due to the reinforcement of national preferences. Eventually, the competition to attract FDI between countries is expected to become more intense. Therefore, in order to attract high-quality FDI for Korea that will contribute to the development of the national economy, it is pressing to evaluate and improve the domestic FDI attraction environment. This study aims to analyze which areas of Korea's economic and non-economic environments need improvement for gaining advantage amid the fierce competition to attract FDI between countries, by the relative comparison between Korea and the U.S., and based on the ranking indicated in key FDI attractiveness indices. As a result, improvement is needed in the following areas. First, according to IMD's "World Competitiveness Ranking 2020," Korea was inferior to the US in terms of business efficiency, productivity, finance and business legislation in terms of government efficiency. Second, according to INSEAD's "Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2020," Korea was inferior to the US in terms of internal openness, external openness, employability, lifelong learning, access to growth opportunity, and business and labor landscapes. Third, according to WEF's "Global Competitiveness Index 2019", Korea was inferior to the US in terms of product market, labor market, business dynamism and workforce skills.

Supper Efficiency DEA와 Malmquist 생산성 지수를 활용한 한·중 컨테이너터미널의 효율성 비교 (An Efficiency Comparison of Container Terminals in Korea and China by Using Super Efficiency-DEA and Malmquist Productivity Index)

  • 본 연구는 세계 20위권 컨테이너항만 중에서 한국과 중국 항만들의 개별 컨테이너터미널을 단위로 SE-DEA와 Malmquist 생산성지수법으로 2012년-2015년 사이의 효율성 및 생산성 변화추이를 분석하고자 하였다. 기존연구들에 비해 본 연구에서는 연구대상의 범위를 항만 내 터미널로 좁혀 더욱 세부적인 분석을 진행하여 실제 운영에 더욱 의미 있는 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. SE-DEA 분석결과, 기존 연구와 달리 부산항 신항 주요 터미널은 중국 못지않은 효율성 및 생산성을 나타내고 있음을 밝혔다. 또한, Malmquist 생산성지수법 분석결과, 한국터미널의 평균 MPI지수는 1.051로 생산성이 연간 5.1% 향상되었고, 중국 터미널의 평균 MPI지수는 1.049로 생산성이 연간 4.9% 향상되었다. 2012년-2015년 한 중 양국 터미널의 평균 TCI지수는 각각 1.032와 1.0318로 MPI지수 변화에 중요한 요소로 작용하였다. 즉 생산성 제고는 운영효율성 개선보다 장비투입이나 기술개진을 통해 실현하였음을 설명한다. 미래에 경영의사결정을 함에 있어서 적극적인 시장개척을 통한 물량확보 증가와 운영효율성 제고를 통해 생산성을 개선하여야 한다. 향후 연구에서는 방법론의 다양화와 터미널 재무능력, 서비스 수준 등을 고려한 종합적인 효율성 분석이 필요할 것이다.

화력발전소 효율개선 측정에 대한 디비지아분해기법의 적용 (An Application of Divisia Decomposition Analysis to the Measurement of Thermal Efficiency Improvement of Power Generation)

  • Since improved thermal efficiency reduces capacity requirements and energy costs, electricity producers often treat thermal efficiency as a measure of management or economic performance. The conventional measure of the thermal efficiency of a fossil-fuel generation system is the ratio of total electricity generation to the simple sum of energy inputs. As a refined approach, we present a novel thermal efficiency measure using the concept of the Divisia index number. Application of this approach to the Korean power sector shows improvement of thermal efficiency of 1.1% per year during 1970-1998. This is higher than the 0.9% improvement per year given by the conventional method. The difference is attributable to the effect of fuel substitution. In the Divisia decomposition context, we also show the limitations of the popular $T{\ddot{o}}rnqvist$ index formula and the superiority of the Sato-Vartia formula.

  • 현재까지 목포항의 효율성을 분석하고 우리 나라의 다른 주요 무역항만과 비교하여 항만의 개발 방향을 개선한 연구는 많지 않다. 본 논문에서는 Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI)와 함께 DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) 모형을 사용하여 목포항을 중심으로 우리나라 주요 무역항만의 효율성과 생산성을 측정한다. 첫째, 항만의 기술적 또는 운영 규모에 따라 어떤 항만이 효율적이거나 비효율적인지, 그리고 몇 년 동안 어떤 항만이 생산성을 유치할 수 있는지 파악하고자 한다. 둘째, 이 연구는 어떤 항만의 그룹이 효율성 점수가 높거나 낮은지 분류하는 데 Fuzzy C-means (FCM) 클러스터링 방법을 적용한 후 목포항의 개선 방안을 제시하고 자 한다.

OECD 국가 코로나19 대응정책 효율성 분석 (Evaluation of the COVID-19 Policies in OECD Countries)

  • Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which has occurred since the end of 2019, has caused tremendous damage not only in terms of disease and death but also in terms of economy. Accordingly, governments implemented health and quarantine policies to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 and minimize economic effects, and implemented various countermeasures to reduce social and economic damage. However, the damage varies from country to country, and there are differences in the response of each government. Methods: Using 2020 data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries, the effectiveness of governments' quarantine and economic policies in response to COVID-19 was calculated, and what factors determine the effectiveness were analyzed. While most of the previous studies analyzed the relationship between the government's quarantine policy and corona transmission and death, this study is characterized by considering the economic aspect in addition. Results: As a result of the analysis, the following results were obtained. First, when economic aspects are not considered, Asian and European countries have similar levels of efficiency, but when economic aspects are taken into account, Asian countries have higher efficiency. Second, population density had a negative effect on the efficiency of each country's policy, and long-term orientation was found to have an important impact when considering the economic aspect. Conclusion: We found that the governance index is an important variable influencing the efficiency, which shows that the effectiveness of government policies in response to the coronavirus depends heavily on the trust relationship between the government and the people.

Efficiency Analysis of Social Security Expenditure in 31 Provinces and Autonomous Regions in China

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to measure the efficiency of social security expenditure in 31 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China and proposes corresponding improvement plans. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were obtained from the statistical yearbook of each province. The BCC and CCR models of DEA model and Malmquist index are used to analyze the efficiency, and the input-output index is expanded. Result - The results show that the social security performance of the Chinese government has improved on the whole despite the unbalanced development in different regions. Each region should look for strategies to improve the efficiency of social security according to its own problems. The study suggests that provinces affected by TCI should improve their internal environment, such as raising social security fund structure and strengthening fund supervision, to improve efficiency. Areas affected by TECI need to be more responsive to policy, socio-economic and technological development. Conclusion - The research conclusion can provide reference for Chinese provinces to improve the efficiency of social security expenditure in the future. This study is not comprehensive enough in the selection of input-output indicators, which can be further expanded in the future.

퍼지DEA에 의한 항만의 효율성 및 순위 측정방법: 평균지수변환모형 접근 (A Measurement Way of Seaport Efficiency and Ranking Using Fuzzy DEA: Average Index Transformation Model Approach)

  • 본 연구에서는 첫째, 퍼지DEA모형을 해운항만분야에 이용한 국내외 기존연구들을 간략하게 검토하였으며, 둘째, Campos and Gonzalez(1989), 임성묵(2008)의 평균지수변환모형을 이론적으로 소개하였으며, 셋째, 국내 26개항만을 대상으로 2개의 투입요소(접안능력, 하역능력), 2개의 산출요소(화물처리량, 입출항척수)를 이용하여 평균지수변환모형에 의거하여 효율성을 분석하고 해석하였다. 실증분석결과를 요약해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반 투입지향 CCR모형에서는 통영, 고현, 옥포, 속초항이 효율적이었으며, 여수항이 90% 후반의 효율성을 보였다. 둘째, 퍼지DEA 평균지수변환모형에서는 고현, 속초항이 가장 효율적이었으며, 옥포, 여수항은 람다값이 커질수록 효율성이 증가되었다. 또한 완도, 여수, 서귀포항은 람다값이 높아질 수록 효율성수치도 높아졌다. 셋째, 일반적인 투입지향 CCR 모형의 효율성 수치와 평균지수변환법에 의한 효율성수치의 평균순위는 거의 일치하였다. 본 논문이 갖는 정책적인 함의는 국내항만의 정책입안담당자들은 투입요소와 산출요소의 값을 정확히 알지 못하고 애매모호한 수준에서 알고 있을 때, 본 논문에서 사용한 퍼지 DEA 평균지수모형을 이용할 필요성이 있다는 점이다.
