The purpose of this paper is to propose an appropriate evaluation scheme for improvement activities, based on a simple model comprising cash inflow by sales as well as variable and fixed cost expenditures. The paper distinguishes capacity surplus and capacity shortage situations, and examines economic benefits gained by yield increase improvement and capacity increase. The paper then proposes a basic rule of thumb for economic evaluation of improvement activities. The logic is simple but useful in practice, being conducive towards improvement activities under current economic conditions with uncertainties.

In this study, distribution of population with economic activities in ingress step to advanced-age society, the current status for the economic activities of old people and the necessity of economic activities through employment and inauguration for old people were investigated. The current status for the economic activities of old people and the changes of economic activities since IMF were also reviewed, and the activation of senior club in regional society and establishment of old man power bank were proposed. The speed of ingress to advanced-age society in Korea is so fast compared with other developed countries that the participation in economic activities of old people is urgent for international competitiveness and their economic independence. Up to now, due to the related regulations and institutional inertia, the practical support of employment and inauguration has not been achieved, but, the practical support should be achieved by solving the problems regarding the regulations and institution.

Library authorities are responsible for allocating its resources to best achieve library goals. This means the question of benefits and costs for library activities, as well as a n.0, pplication of economic theory to it. To consider these, this study dealt with theoretical analysis: 1) the nature of economic models, 2) economic theory to library activities, 3) and its a n.0, pplicability. However, economic model method allows us to use an analytic technique that is founded on library production and consumption. Thus, its major contribution is creation of a framework or system for maximizing the efficient library activities.

Although several studies have made and policies have formulated for an increase in women's participation in economic activities, the participation rate of women in economic activities in Korea is only 50% and much lower than in other advanced countries. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect women's continuance intention in economic activities including their motivation for economic activities, women's perception of work, and government support recognition. We empirically analyze and examine such factors and the moderating effects of family support. The survey was conducted on women nationwide to be distributed evenly among various age groups, ranging from those in their 20s to those in their 50s. The results of the empirical analysis based on the data collected on a total of 406 people were as follows. First, the motivation for economic activities including economic and self-realization motivation, women's perception of work, and government support was seen as having a significantly positive effect on women's Continuance Intention in Economic Activities. Second, the impact of women's work perception on their continuance intention in economic activities varied depending on the level of family support, and its moderating effect was confirmed. But there was no moderating effect of family support between economic and self-realization motivation, government support recognition, and the women's continuance intention for economic activities To increase women's continuance intention for economic activities, both support for work-family compatibility policies and institutional support should be provided. Government support will also be needed in order to enable women with abundant experience to participate in economic activities.

There is a considerable gap in the level of the Internet access charges among countries because of the history of the Internet use, current status of the Internet infrastructure, the Internet penetration rate, and so on. Low Internet access charge increases the number of the Internet users and the Internet penetration rate, which boosts economic activities. This paper empirically explores the impacts of the internet access charges on economic activities using a cross-country analysis based on data from 76 countries for the year 1998-2001. To this end, several versions of the neoclassical growth models, explicitly including the internet access charges, are estimated with the GDP used for a proxy for economic activities and the level of Internet access charges considered as an input to production. Subject to the appropriate caveats, the results show that the level of the Internet access charges make a significantly negative effect on economic activities. In other words, it is concluded that low Internet access charges of a county increase economic activities and the increased economic activities in turn raise the real income of the county.

Purpose - This study aims to analyze the effects of the social support on the economic activities from the Korean Chinese residing in Korea. Particularly, this paper focuses on the consequence of the economic activity intention according to the three kinds of social support. Research design, data, and methodology - For the statistics process of data collected by this survey, SPSS 19 statistics package program was used through data-coding and data-cleaning processes to analyze the data in this study. Results - This hypothesis was selected partially. As a result of investigating hypotheses in detail, Hypothesis 1-2 was significant as shown in the significance level 0.1, and when the emotional support was regarded important, the will of economic activities was also higher. Hypothesis 1-2 was found to be meaningful with the significance level of 0.05, and when the social support was regarded important, the will of economic activities was also higher. Lastly, Hypothesis 1-3 was found to not be statistically significant. Conclusions - The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for vitalization of the Korean Chinese' economic activities and governmental support for it, and to be a guideline in preparing successful strategies for expansion of the Korean Chinese' economic activities in the future by applying these results.

The article proves the relevance of developing conceptual frameworks for managing the quality assurance of logistics activities in the context of socio-economic interaction of their participants. It is established that the fundamental difference of the logistic approach in management from traditional approaches is the allocation of a single management function of previously separated, disparate material flows, as well as economic, technological, information integration of chain links into a single system capable of effective management of these flows. It is substantiated that the functioning of the enterprise as a logistics system can be represented in the form of a triad of logistics components, namely: supply logistics, production logistics, sales logistics. Management of quality assurance processes of logistics activities in the context of socio-economic interaction of their participants is a functional component of the entire logistics system due to the quality of work and interaction of all participants in the implementation of certain activities. The quality of logistics activities will affect the level of economic potential, rationalization and optimization of all logistics flows. It is proved that the management of quality assurance processes of logistics activities in the context of socio-economic interaction of their participants involves the following main areas: the introduction of a quality system of logistics processes; development and implementation of the general strategy of quality improvement at the enterprise; internal integration; controlling. Management of quality assurance processes of logistics activities in the context of socio-economic interaction of its participants requires compliance with the following requirements: systematic and comprehensive management of all flow processes; coordination of criteria and indicators for assessing the effectiveness of the entire logistics system; dissemination of the use and application of information technology; ensuring partnerships and close interaction of all participants in sales networks.

The significant role of transportation system for economic development process has been recognized, but the argument that transportation improvements stimulate economic development has brought sometimes no resonance in lacking of a plausible theory on the conditions and process of economic development by transportation investment. This paper reviews the theory on regional differentiation of transportation system and shows why and how the installation of a new transportation system or the improvements of the old transportation quality differentiate the spatial order of economic activities. It presents the interaction between the change of transportation quality with introducing of definition "transportation value" as tool of its determination and economic activities following the regional differentiation process, which result means regional defferentiation of niveau of economic development.

In recent years, a significant number of empirical studies have examined the relationship between export and economic growth in India. However, this study analyses the relationship between exports and economic growth through the time series model. The main aim of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between exports and economic growth in India. The VAR model was used for the period 1961 to 2015 after verifying the stationarity of the variables through using Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillip-Perron tests. The Indian export sector has been found to have a significant and positive impact on economic growth and other long-term economic activities. The study also employed the Granger causality test to check the direction of causality and found that RXGS, RGDP, RPFC, and RGFC had a unidirectional relationship and RXGS and RMGS had a bidirectional relationship in long run. Also, the findings of this study suggest that a steady-state between exports and economic growth can be achieved in India over a long period. The overall outcome of this study provides a testimony of the fact that the export sector plays a vital role in economic growth in India and also leads to the long-term growth of other economic activities.

Keep pace with economic development, the quality of transportation means such as railway, road, harbors has changed and those changes have affected to economic activities. It means that economic development and the changes of transportation quality have an inter-systemic relationship. So to speak, transportation means are major factor of national economic activities to implement economic and consumption activities by promoting supply of goods through the network between regions and industries. Currently, it is needed to connect railway and road between South and North Korea due to the economic cooperation of two sides and meeting of separated families based on the peacemaking mood. Moreover, to connect to T.C.R. and T.S.R. route will contribute to save time and cost of transporting freight to Europe comparing with shipping when South-North railway is connected. The possibility and method of connecting railway between South and North Korea will be introduced in this paper.
