  • The changes in sound absorption capability and air permeability of Malas wood after high temperature heat treatment were investigated. The average air permeability of Malas in longitudinal direction after heated under the temperature of $190^{\circ}C$ during 3 hours was about 23.48 darcys and that of control was about 3.11 darcys. The noise reduction coefficients of Malas specimens were 17% for treatment and 10% for control. The means of sound absorption coefficient of specimens in the frequency range of 50~6,400 Hz were 42% for treatment and 17% for control, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to make suitabl skirts pattern for pregnant woman on the basis of their physical characteristics. 9 women who were 3,5,8 and 10 months pregnant were measured using Martin's anthropometric instrument on 12 items and sliding gauge on 4 items. The measures were analyzed statistically. Skirts pattern was developed based on the measurements of the essential items for skirts construction. The sensory evaluation was applied to estimate fittness and comfort in Rim's method skirt pattern. The items which showed a remarkable and significant increase were anterior waist circumference, anterior waist height and abdominal circumference. The anterior part of waist and abdorminal sections projected forward gradually. According to statistical analysis on the questionnaire, all the items showed significant difference between the new and the Rim's method skirts pattern with the new pattern having higher scores.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the clothing value, awareness of and concern about clothing's country of origin in Korea and England university women. University women in Korea and England were surveyed to determine the importance attributed to 32 descriptors defining 8 clothing values. Awareness of, and concern about, clothing's country of origin were determined mean-scores, t-test and $x^2$-analyses were done. A different rank order of importance for clothing values exists for both groups. The Korea sample rated aesthetic, economic, theorical, political, exploratory and sensory significantly higher and social, religious significantly lower than England sample. England sample appeared to be more aware, concerned about clothing's country of origin than Korea sample. More Korea women were able to recall country of origin. • The purpose of this paper was to design the sizing system of the head gears which would be a guide of men for selecting their head gears of suitable size. This study was carried out on 214 men and was done by cluster analysis with two variables(head circumference and bitragus to vertex arc length). The results were as follows : First, most of measurements were larger in men than in women. Second, the suitable numbers of size were found that 5 sizes were proper by cluster analysis with two variables. After the design of sizing system, the cover ratio was investigated in order to decide whether it is proper or not. Third, in the cover ratio, the 5 sizes were the highest in all of them.
