This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of liming on life form and ecological behaviour of stand in low productive grassland with acidified solil at dairy fram in yesan, chungnam province. The inferior plant community of low productive grassland was improved to the most desirable pasture association with herbage of 84% by liming. the life forms of association in low productive grassland were composed of hemicryptophytes of 49.4%, therophytes of 48.2%, geophytes of 2.2% and chamaephytes of 0.2% but by liming their life forms of hemicryptophytes increased greatly by 32.6%, on the other hand geophytes were much more decreased by 33.4%. The ecological behaviour of moisture figure and nitrogen figure were slightly increased and soil reaction figure was gradually decreased in low productive grassland by liming.

For the using as the guideline to evaluate the grassland based on the botanical composition, the ecological behaviour which was expressed of nine(1~9:reaction and nitrogen figure) or twelve(1~12:moisture figure) division scale was given to the each plant species in grassland. At first, the ecological behaviours(moisture, reaction and nitrogen figure) were given to the 141 main forage plants of grassland in Korea. In the improved grassland, moisture, reaction and nitrogen figure of the ecological behaviour were much more increased 0.73, 0.94 and 0.95 than those of the waste type grassland, respectively. Therefore, the ecological behaviour of grassland was not only possible to express the vegetational conditions of various plant communities in some simple figures, but also compared with different types of grassland at the same time.

The ecological behaviour and forage value of natural grassland communities and the similarity between plant communities near Wit~enhausen in middle part of Gennany were investigated from June to August. 1993. The total number of plant communities at different place surveyed during the study period was twelve. The ecological behaviour and forage value of the natural grassland communities except mesobromion (half dry grassland community) were relatively good for roughage production. The correlation coefficients between plant eornmunilies were greatly affected by botanical composition. The clustering analysis showed that the communities of relatively similar botanical composition were grouped closely, and the other communities were clustered to the same group although the degree of similarity between communities was low.

This study was carried out to investigate the ecological behaviour forage value and similarity among the plant communities of the grazing pasture near Witzenhausen in middle part of Germany. Sixteen plant communities of the different grazing pasture were mostly the Molinio-Arrhenatheretea and Festuco-Brometea, and those were named the class of plant sociological nomenclature. The ecological behaviour and forage value of the communities except mesobromion(half dry grassland community) were relatively good for forage production. The correlation coefficient between class No. 14 and 12 of plant communities was highest, and the similarity among the communities were greatly affected by botanical composition. The resemblance measure of the cluster-analysis by complete-linkage-method for the similarity among plant communities was better the euclidean distance than those of others. The clustering analysis showed that the communities of relatively similar botanical composition were closely grouped.

This study was conducted to find out the changes of the botanical composition, ecological behaviour and forage value of vegetation in abandoned hilly pasture, in Yeoju, Kyonggi Province from April, 1993 to October, 1996. This experiment was arranged as a vegetation survey(Pflanzenaufnahme) with two different pastures ((1) with forkcrane planed pasture and (2) forest pasture). After the abandoned management of pasture, wild grasses and shrubs of the botanical composition were gradually increased and pasture plants tended to decrease rapidly in the two different hilly pasture. In abandoned management of planed and forest pasture, moisture figure, reaction figure and nitrogen figure of the ecological behaviour were greatly decreased and also the forage value of standing crop was greatly decreased in three years (from 7.06 to 4.60 in planed pasture and from 6.81 to 4.38 in forest pasture). After abandon of two different hilly pastures, fresh weight of standing crops in flowering stage was greatly decreased 48.5~54.1% in three years than that of the vegetation at the pasture management.

The prediction and its visualization on fish behaviour in relation to fishing gear are carried out based on field detection and observation during fishing operation. However, field observation is very difficult due to variable underwater environments and accordingly due to complex, chaotic response of fish behaviour in the physiological and ecological points. Therefore simple graphic display in previous results was not enough to represent real underwater images of the fishing gear and fish behaviour. In this study more actual visualization technique was developed using by previous fish behaviour model with chaos theory in order to predict, evaluate or analyse complex and non-linear phenomena of response patterns in complex fish behaviour. In addition, display of the fish finder was also designed to simulate the underwater fish detection and distribution in fishing ground. This suggested visualization tool was very similar to the information of the fish movement in the field observation in visual underwater reality and useful to check up between simulations and observations.
In order to investigate territorial behaviour, Pungitius sinensis kaibarae were collected from Sacheon-river, Kangwon-do, Korea. They are reared in aquarium with designed experimental region from March to May 1996. In this study, territorial behaviour was divided into 1) pre-territorial movements of a shoal under varying water-weeds position 2) individual ranking patterns in connection with total length of fish 3) the change in size of territorial maps during the parental stage. The movements of a shoal tend to prefer regions with water-weeds and the lower half of the aquarium. Competition for territory was fierce, and fish that are longer in total length dominate smaller one in occupying territory. Both males and females developed territorial behaviour as they grew. However, male's territory was enlarged according to the hatching and dispersion of fry. At this time, aggressive tendencies reached their peak.
The effect of toxicants on ecological systems is an important issue from mathematical and experimental points of view. Here we have studied dynamical model of a single-species population-toxicant system. Two cases are studied: constant exogeneous input of toxicant and rapidly fluctuating random exogeneous input of toxicant into the environment. The dynamical behaviour of the system is analyzed by using deterministic linearized technique, Lyapunov method and stochastic linearization on the assumption that exogeneous input of toxicant into the environment behaves like ‘Coloured noise’.
Over the last 20 years there have been more than 3000 peer-reviewed papers relating to climate change and biodiversity published, and still the numbers are increasing. However, most studies focused on the impacts of climate change at population or community levels, and the results invariably reveal that there has been, or will be, a negative effect on the structure and pattern of biodiversity. Moreover, the climate change models and statistical analyses used to test the impacts are only newly developed, and the analyses or predictions can often be misled. In this review, I ask why an individual's life history is considered in the study how climate change affects biodiversity, and what ecological factors are impacted by climate change. Using evidence from a range of species, I demonstrate that diverse life history traits, such as early growth rate, migration/foraging behaviour and lifespan, can be shifted by climate change at individual level. Particularly I discuss that the optimal decision under unknown circumstance (climate change) would be the reduction of the ecological fitness at individual level, and hence, a shift in the balance of the ecosystem could be affected without having a critical impact on any one species. To conclude, I summarize the links between climate changes, ecological decision in life history, the revised consequence at individual level, and discuss how the finely-balanced relationship affects biodiversity and population structure.
The study examined the influence of climate and soil dynamics on vegetation health across the ecological zones in Rivers State, Nigeria. MODIS imagery was used to assess the vegetation health through NDVI and point grid pattern of meteorological data for total precipitation (TP), air temperature (AT), soil moisture (SM) and soil temperature (ST) of 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015 were used for the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Findings showed that NDVI ranged between 0.420 and 0.612 in the freshwater swamp (FWS) while between 0.465 and 0.611 in the rainforest and the NDVI in the mangrove was generally low. The highest mean AT was experienced in the mangrove ecological zone and the least was experienced in the rainforest. The mean SM was generally highest in the rainforest with highest value in 2000 (774.44 m3/m3). The ST was highest in the mangrove and the least was experienced in the rainforest while the TP was highest in the mangrove. NDVI correlated significantly with SM (r=0.720; p<0.05) and ST (r= -0.493; p<0.05). NDVI, SM, TP and ST significantly varied among the ecological zones. Regression analysis showed that vegetation health was significantly related to the combination of soil temperature and soil moisture (R2=0.641; p=0.000). Thus, monitoring the factors that affect vegetation health in a changing climate and soil environments is highly required.
