Objective : Pneumonia is a frequent complication in stroke and is very important as a prognostic factor. So We had a clinical study about pneumonic patients combined with stroke in which we administered both antibiotics and oriental herbal medicine to them. Methods : The 14 cases were patients that admitted visited 31CU at neurologic department in Kyunghee medical center from the 1st of October to the 31st of November, 1998. because of stroke. We selected cases complicated pneumonia. We diagnosed stroke as brain CT or MRI and pneumonia as chest simple X-ray, fever, sputurn culture et al. We divided the group into several categories(衛分證, 氣分證, 營分證, 血分證, 正虛邪退證) and medicined them both Paerum-bang(肺炎方) and antibotics. We evaluated the results as increased signs and some tests including chest simple X-ray, GOT, GPT, BUN and Creatinine. Results : Among total 14 cases, cases of perfect cure including improvement were 10, aggravation were 2 and discontinued cases were 2. We observed 17.4 days on the average. Their functions of liver and kidney weren't aggravated as medicining both antibiotics and oriental herbal treatment. Conclusion : We suggest that eastern treatment need to improve resistance of pneumonic patients and may reduce the side effect of western antibiotics therapy.

Suncheonman-Bay and its surrounding areas play important roles as habitats for migratory birds. However, sustainable management of these areas is difficult because of the development pressure of private lands. Therefore, the areas surrounding Suncheonman-Bay must be classified as additional protected areas; for this, it is necessary to gather concrete and objective evidence and ensure protected area management. Further, compensation measures must be considered when acquiring a private property as an additional protected area. In this study, we distinguish protected areas, such as core, buffer, and transition areas, within a private area by using data from the Winter Waterbird Census of Korea and MARXAN software, a spatial conservation prioritization tool. We applied ecosystem services to apply Payment for Ecosystem services (PES) as compensation measures. Watershed conservation (supply), climate control (regulation), supporting habitats (support), and recreation (culture) etc. were evaluated by calculating the economic value of these ecosystem services. Eastern, western, and northern forests and rice fields of Suncheonman-Bay were shown to have a number of core areas for the preservation of endangered species. The ecosystem service value of the additional protected areas was estimated at 17.5 million KRW/ha/year. We believe that our study result could be used to establish protected areas to preserve major habitats, as well as include areas adjacent to such major habitats that play a vital role in endangered species conservation. In addition, through this study, we highlight the need for an objective basis to establish protected areas.

The specific freshwater environment of reservoirs formed by streams has not been well studied. In this paper, the bacterioplankton community in such a reservoir, the Huangqian Reservoir in eastern China, was described using culture-independent molecular methods. We found that the most dominant bacterioplankton were affiliated with Cyanobacteria, followed by Betaproteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Gammaproteobacteria, and Actinobacteria. Both bacterial abundance and diversity increased along the direction of water flow, and the 16S rRNA gene copy number in the water outlet was nearly an order of magnitude higher than that in the water inlet. Pearson correlation analyses indicated that nitrate had a significantly negative correlation with the bacterial abundance (p < 0.05) and that ammonium was positively correlated with bacterial abundance (p < 0.05). Interestingly, owing to a remarkably negative correlation (p < 0.01), the ratio of nitrate and ammonium might serve as a good pre dictor of the relative abundance of bacterioplankton. According to redundancy analysis, nitrate and dissolved oxygen were the major factors influencing the bacterial communities. In addition, we attempted to determine the reasons why such a reservoir could maintain good ecological balance for a period of decades, and we found that the environmental factors and bacterial communities both played critical roles. This research will benefit our understanding of bacterial communities and their surrounding environments in freshwater ecosystems.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the specific mimesis types of common character costumes in MMORPGs, which have stories that are very similar in structure to ancient myths and fantasy novels. As the subject of the research I have selected "Diablo 3" created by the American video game developer, Blizzard Entertainment Images of 5 characters, for both genders - Barbarian, Witch Doctor, Monk, Demon hunter, Wizard - were compiled for a total of 10 images, and these images were compared to popular archetypes in mythology, religion and literature. analyzed them separately according to the mimesis type. For this study, Articles and books containing the Aesthetics, Mimesis and Digital culture were researched in order to study the costume features and the Mimesis types and compare them to the costumes in the MMORPG. Firstly, the character Barbarian is a successor of the barbarian character of the previous product. The outfit worn by the game figure is based on the common images expressed in the movie . The makers created an analogous-imitation mimesis by replicating the image in an exaggerated and grand form. Second, the character Witch Doctor derived its motif from the Voodoo cult, and was expressed in analogous-imitation mimesis, using the very shades and patterns used in real life. Third, the character Monk, blending the image of a priest in Eastern Europe and images of its oriental counterparts, was expressed in transposition-diversion mimesis. Fourth, the Demon Hunter took the source of its inspiration from the image of a Witch hunter in the medieval times. The game character has a sharper sleeker figure than its model, and uses more acute shapes and darker gloomier colors expressed in an analogous-imitation mimesis. Finally, the character Magician took a formless character and expressed it in transposition-diversion mimesis taking as its basis some fantasy novels.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the factors causing obstructions to the productivity of mulberry field on slope land, increasing the productivity of that, in Korea. These results are summerized as follows: 1. Poor fertilization and unreasonable management due to overbalance of mulberry field in scale were proved to be most important factors of them obstructing the growth of mulberry. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the amount of fertilizer and cultivate mulberry fold in reasonable scale for the development of productivity. 2. As the direction of mulberry fold on slope land are closely related to the productivity, mulberry cultivation of the eastern or southern exposure were suitable, but that of northern not. It seemed to show no difference between the cultivation in 20 degree slope land and in less than that, 300 m above sea level and below that level. 3. A depth of top soil should be more than 60 cm. 4. Rosang in varieties of mulberry tree is not suitable but Chuwoo is comparatively suitable in slope land. 5. The number of mulberry trees in planting must be more than 900 trees per 10 ares.

Hair styles, dresses and their ornaments are basic measures that show the trend of the times, the people and their life in both Eastern and Western societies. The history of a country could start or be extinguished at any time, but life goes on. Koguryo was founded around Anno Domini and fell at 668 A. D. What was Koguryo people like? How was their hair style and costume? This study aims to respond those questions. The Koguryo ancient mural paintings can be broadly divided into the Jip-An region and the Pyon-Yang region. Among the paintings found, that in the An-Ak 3rd ancient tomb at the Pyon-Yang region is the biggest and the most splendid. It is a figure genre painting, which contains a kitchen, a rice mill, a stable, a barn, a garage, etc. Those places illustrate the way of life at the time. The painting also comprises a man with a crown, who is seen as the king and owner of this tomb. The woman with a vertically designed hair style is perceived as the queen. A highly guarded and decorated royal parade is also presented in detail. The hair styles and costume evidence in the An-Ak 3rd ancient tomb are not seen in the paintings of the Jip-An region. This study inquires into the differences between the Pyon-Yang and lip-An regions through the history and the culture of those areas. Nevertheless, it could prove tentative to confirm the owner of the An-Ak 3rd ancient tomb with the only evidence of the words found in the wall of the tomb. It is the author's intention to study and analyse further.

In the future, it is necessary to promote the establishment of an International exchange network and traffic system for each of the traffic facilities in order to build up the Block that will mainly contribute to the economies of countries and regions In the area. For the purpose, it is fundamental to reexamine the national land planning and the local development planning of each of the countries. From the standpoint of technology, the issues to be looked into are : study and development on marine civil engineering such as structures over straits study and development on the construction engineering of express ways and exprees rail roads : development of vehicles such as cars and trains I propose approaches to my vision of these traffic systems from my standpoint as an engineer in this paper.his paper.

Rosa rugosa is a medicinal, ornamental, and edible plant native to Eastern Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, and China. The aim of this study was to establish a system for biomass production and secondary metabolite accumulation during in vitro culture and acclimatization of Rosa rugosa. The highest rate of multiple shoot proliferation was achieved with $8.8{\mu}M$ benzyladenine (BA) (83.3%). However, the number of shoots (14.4 per explant) at $4.4{\mu}M$ BA was higher than that at $8.8{\mu}M$ BA. Compared to BA, a combination of thidiazuron (TDZ) and indole butyric acid (IBA) exhibited significantly lower shoot induction, with only 50.0~79.2% and 4.2~16.7% relative shoot formation, respectively. During acclimatization, shoots were sampled every week and their total phenolic contents were analyzed. Among various growth factors, fresh weight showed the most dramatic increase from the 3rd week (88.0 mg/plant) to 4th week (132.7 mg/plant). Total phenolics and flavonoids contents were the highest at $1^{st}$ week of acclimatization. Depending on developmental stages, total phenolics and flavonoids contents were higher in 1-yr-old shoots grown ex vitro than in those of older field-grown or in vitro-grown plants. Amongst different ages of field grown plants, 6-year-old plants, the oldest in this study, showed the lowest content in total phenolics.

Adventitious organs (shoots and roots) from mature leaves of Populus deltoides (Eastern cottonwood) clones were induced on WPM (Woody Plant Medium) containing fructose as a carborn source and different combinations of either BA (Benzyl aminopurin) or TDZ (Thidiazuron) with NAA (Naphthaleneacetic acid). The morphologies of adventitious shoots were different depending on the kinds of growth regulators and the length of shoots induced on the medium containing BA were generally longer than that of TDZ. BA 0.5 mg/L and TDZ 0.01 mg/L combined with either 0.05 or 0.1 mg/L NAA showed the highest values in the frequency of regeneration (63% to 100%) the number of shoots per explant and in the organogenic sites per explant among tested three clones (A, B and C). Although there was a minor clonal difference in the development of adventitious shoots from leaf segments, their responses to growth regulators were very similar.
