  • One of the small genera of the tribe Atrophini (subfamily Banchinae), the genus Amphirhachis, has been reported seven species in the world. Among them, four species (Amphirhachis fasciata, A. nigripalpis, A. rubriventris and A. tertia) from Oriental region, and four species(Amphirhachis fujiei, A. miyabi, A. nigra and A. tertia) from Eastern Palaearctic region. Unfortunately, there are no records in South Korea yet. This genus is easily distinguished from other genera of Atrophini following: clypeus strongly convex near side; posterior transverse carina of propodeum represented by a weak or faint vertical ridge at apex on each side; ovipositor sheath shorter than metasoma. In this study, the genus Amphirhachis is recorded for the first time with a newly recorded species (Amphirhachis tertia) from South Korea. New data on the taxonomy and distribution of Amphirhachis tertia are given. We also provide diagnosis and digital images of a newly recorded genus and species.

  • A new species, Monoblastus forsythia sp. nov. is described from South Korea. All specimens of this new species were collected on Forsythia koreana (Nakai). A taxonomic study of South Korean Monoblastus was initiated by Uchida in 1930, and until now four species have been recorded from South Korea. The genus Monoblastus is a Holarctic genus with 31 described species, 14 species are Nearctic, seven are Western Palaearctic region, and nine species occur in Eastern Palaearctic region. In the study, I provide description and photos of both sexes of this new species. Also, modified key to species of the South Korean Monoblastus is provided.

Among them, P. bistriata is recorded for the first time in the Eastern Palaearctic region and this genus is reported for the first time from South Korea. A key to species of this genus and and photographs of each species are provided.

  • Previously, only one species belonging to the genus Apophua was recorded from South Korea by Kim (1955). Here, six additional species, A. cicatricosa, A. evanescens, A. honmai, A. stena, A. sugaharai and A. tobensis, are reported for the first time in South Korea. In this paper, we provide a key to the Eastern Palaearctic species of Apophua and diagnoses, as well as photographs of South Korean species.

  • We reviewed eight South Korean species of the genera Scambus Hartig, 1838 and Tromatobia $F{\ddot{o}}rster$, 1869. Among them, the Genus Scambus Hartig, 1838 is a moderately large group that includes 152 species worldwide. The South Korean genus Scambus Hartig, 1838 only includes one species, Scambus calobatus (Gravenhorst, 1829). The Tromatobia $F{\ddot{o}}rster$, 1869 group is a relatively small genus, including 33 worldwide species. This group is recorded for the first time from South Korea. Also, we report seven newly recorded species: Scambus nigricans (Thomson, 1877), Scambus vesicarius (Ratzeburg, 1844), Tromatobia flavistellata Uchida and Momoi, 1957, Tromatobia nipponica Uchida, 1928, Tromatobia ornata (Gravenhorst, 1829), Tromatobia ovivora (Boheman, 1821), and Tromatobia variabilis (Holmgren, 1856). A key to South Korean species of the genera Scambus Hartig, 1838 and Tromatobia $F{\ddot{o}}rster$, 1869, diagnoses and illustrations are provided.

  • One of the largest genera of subfamily Ophioninae, Ophion, has been reported 144 species in the World. Nevertheless, recorded members of genus Ophion are 40 species in the Eastern Palaearctic region, 8 in South Korea (O. ainoicus, O. choaspese, O. flavopictus, O. fuscomaculatus, O. luteus luteus, O. obscuratus obscuratus, O. okunii, O. takaozanus). In this paper, a taxonomic list of genus Ophion from South Korea is provided for the first time. Two newly recorded species, Ophion hokkaidonis Uchida and Ophion nikkonis Uchida, are reported from South Korea. A key to these South Korean species, diagnoses of the two newly recorded species and digital images are provided.
