사전균열이 발생한 철근콘크리트 보의 외적 포스트텐셔닝 전단보강에서 보강깊이의 효과 (Strengthening Depth Effect in Externally Post-tensioning Shear Strengthening of Pre-cracked Reinforced Concrete Beam)

  • This paper presents the shear strengthening effect of externally post-tensioning (EPT) method using high-strength steel rod in pre-cracked reinforced concrete (RC) beams. Three- and four-point bending tests were performed on a total of 8 specimens by adjusting the strengthening depths in the deviator position of EPT. The effective strengthening depths were 435, 535, and 610 mm. The pre-loading up to about 2/3 of ultimate load capacity measured in unstrengthened RC beam were applied in the beam to be post-tensioned. The EPT method was then applied to the pre-damaged RC beams and re-loading was added until the end of the test. EPT restored deflections of 3 mm or more, which account for about 40% of deflection when the pre-loading was applied. The shear strengthening increases more than 3 times and 36~107% in terms of the stiffness and load-carrying capacity compared to unstrengthening RC beams. The increased load-carrying capacities of the post-tensioned beam with strengthening depths of 435 and 535 mm are almost the same as 36~61%, and those of 610 mm are 84~107%, which shows the greatest shear strengthening effect.

Bond behavior investigation of ordinary concrete-rebar with hinged beam test and eccentric pull-out test

  • In this study, bond behavior of ordinary concrete and rebars with different diameters and development length was investigated by using Hinged Beam Test (HBT) and Eccentric Pull-Out Test (EPT) comparatively. For this purpose, three different rebar size and development length depending on rebar diameter were chosen as variables. Three specimens were produced for each series of specimens and totally 54 specimens were tested. At the end of the tests it was observed that obtained results for both tests were quite similar. On the other hand, increased bar size, especially for the specimen with 14 mm bar size and 14 development length (lb), caused shear failure of test specimens. This situation infers that when bigger bar size and lb are used in such test, dimensions of test specimens should be chosen bigger and stirrups should be used for producing of test specimens to obtain more adequate result by preventing shear failure. Also, a nonlinear regression analysis was employed between HBT and EPT results. There was a high correlation between the EPT values, lb, rebar diameters and estimated theoretical HBT. In addition, at the end of the study an equation was suggested to estimate bond strength for HBT by using EPT results.

맥박산소측정기(pulse oximetry)를 이용한 치수 생활력 측정과 기존 방법과의 비교 (Pulp Vitality Evaluation and Comparison with Old Methods Using Pulse Oximetry)

  • Background: This study evaluated pulp vitality of anterior permanent teeth using pulse oximetry (PO), which is already used for monitoring of patient's $SpO_2$ and pulse rates (PR). Also we compared with ice tests and electric pulp test (EPT). Methods: 9 teeth, endodontic treated, were selected as non-vital teeth group. 17 vital teeth were selected as control group. Our aim is to compare sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of ice test, electric pulp test and pulse oximetry, respectively. Pulse oximetry has two test results, $SpO_2$ and pulse rates. Also we calculated correlation and statistical significances by Pearson's test between EPT and pulse oximetry. Results: Sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV were calculated on each tests. Ice test has results of 1.00, 0.89, 0.94 and 1.00, respectively. EPT has results of 0.94, 0.78, 0.89 and 0.88 respectively. $SpO_2$ has results of 0.94, 1.00, 1.00 and 0.90, respectively. PR has results of all 1.00. Conclusions: PO showed relatively accurate, stable and objective results on both $SpO_2$ and PR. Percentage of ability of accurate diagnosis for vital teeth is 94% for ice test, 89% for EPT, 100% for $SpO_2$ and PR. Percentage of ability of accurate diagnosis for non-vital teeth is 100% for ice test, 88% for EPT, 90% for $SpO_2$ and 100% for PR. In additions, PR could be more accurate and significant tests than $SpO_2$.

EPT 부모교육 프로그램이 유아의 기본생활습관 향상에 미치는 효과 (The Effectiveness of the Empowering Parents Training Program for the Improvement of children's Basic Life Habits)

  • This study investigated the effectiveness of the Empowering Parents Training(EPT) program of the Settling Life Foundation on the improvement of children's basic life habits, a parent education program. The subjects were 72 mothers of 3- to 6-year-old children in 2 kindergartens located in Yangchun-gu and Nowon-gu in the City of Seoul. There were 36 mothers each in the experimental group and the control group. The mothers in the experimental group took part in a $2{\frac{1}{2}}$ hour Settling Life Foundation program in 4 sessions. The results revealed differences between the experimental and control groups in children's basic life habits. Mothers taking part in the program showed very positive reactions.

동결속도와 평형시간이 소 미성숙 난자의 동결 융해후 생존율에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cooling Rate and Equilibration Time on the Survival and Development of Frozen-thawed Bovine Immature Oocytes)

  • 소 미성숙 난자 (GV stage)의 동결에 중요한 영향을 미치는 평형시간과 동결속도가 융해후 생존율 및 배발달율에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 미성숙 난자의 동결 융해후 체외성숙, 체외수정 및 배반포 발달 능력을 알아보았다. 본 실험에 사용한 동결액의 조성은 침투성 보호제(Ethylene glycol, EG)와 비 침투성 보호제(Ficoll ; F, polyvinylpyrrolidone; PVP, Sucrose; S, Trehalose ; T)를 혼합하여 네가지 조성의 동결액을 준비하였다. 즉EFT: 10% EG + 5% F + 0.05M T, EFS: 10% EG + 5% F + 0.05M S, EPT: 10% EG + 5% P + 0.05M T, EPS: 10% EG + 5% P + 0.05M S이다. 네가지 동격액 (EFT, EFS, EPT, EPS)을 이용하여 미성숙 소 난자 (GV stage)의 최적 평형 시간을 알아보기 위하여 각각 10, 15, 20분의 평형후 동결 응해하였다(실험 1). EPT액에서 15분의 평형시간이 가장 좋은 생존율을 나타내었다(83.05%). 동결 속도가 생존율에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 각각 17$^{\circ}C$, $0^{\circ}C$ 및 -6$^{\circ}C$로 동결 속도를 달리 설정하여 동결 융해를 실시하였다(실험 2). 융해후 생존율은 대부분 $0^{\circ}C$로 시작하는 동결속도에서 가장 좋은 성적을 나타내었다. 즉 EFT, EPT, EPS에서 각각 78.1, 73.7, 74.7%의 생존율을 나타내었다. 동결융해 하지 않은 신선란과 동결 응해한 미성숙 난자의 핵 성숙율은 각각 87.2%와 62.3%가 metaphase II로 발달하였다. 동결 응해 미성숙 난자의 IVM, IVF후 난분할율은 EFT, EFS, EPT 그리고 EPS에서 각각 32.57, 23.21, 38.39 그리고 21.33%로 EPT에서 가장 높았으나 유의차는 없었다. 배반포 발달율도 각각 2.86, 3.57, 4.46 그리고 0.47%로서 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 동결융해 미성숙 난자의 IVM, IVF후 TCM199와 CR-1aa배양액을 이용하여 소 난관상피세포(BOEC)와 공배양 한 결과 배양액의 종류에 따라 난분할율과 배반포 발달율에서는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한 미성숙 소 난자의 동결 융해후 얻은 배반포 수정란을 자연발정 Holstein 수란우에 7일째 비외과적으로 이식하였다. 6두에 9개의 수정란을 이식하여 2두가 임신이 확인되었으나 1두는 45일경 유산되었고, 나머지 1두는 장기재태로 분만을 유도하였으나 사산되었다.

단일기관에서 경험한 소아 폐외결핵의 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Manifestation of Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis in Children : A Single Center Experience)

  • 목 적 : 저자들은 8년간 단일기관에서 경험한 소아 폐외결핵 환자들의 임상적, 미생물학적 특성을 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 2000년 1월부터 2007년 12월까지 가톨릭대학교 인천성모병원에서 폐외결핵으로 진단받은 15세 이하의 환자들의 의무기록과 검사소견을 후향적으로 조사하였다. 결 과 : 총 109명의 결핵환자 중 폐외결핵은 12명으로 11%를 차지하였다. 총 결핵환자에 대한 폐외결핵 환자의 비율은 2006-2007년에 20%로 그전에 비하여 증가하였다. 남녀 비는 1.4:1이었으며 진단시 평균 연령은 9.2세(3개월-15세)였다. 침범부위는 늑막이 5명(41.6%)으로 가장 많이 발생하였고 중추신경계 3명, 속립성 2명, 골관절 1명, 위장관1명 순이었다. 입원했을 때의 주증상은 발열이 11명(91.6%)으로 가장 많이 나타났으며 총 발열일수는 평균 15.8일(0-47일)이었다. 결핵균 도말 검사는 33.3%, 배양검사는 41.6%, 중합효소연쇄반응 검사에서는 41.6%의 환자에서 양성이었다. 항결핵제 감수성 검사를 시행한 5명 중 4명(80%)에서 1개 이상의 약제에 내성을 보였다. 11명은 합병증 없이 치료되었고 1명은 치료 도중 사망하였다. 결 론 : 본 연구 결과 연구 기간 중 2006-2007년에 총 결핵환자에 대한 폐외결핵 환자의 비율이 이전에 비하여 증가하였다. 또한 소아 폐외결핵이 폐결핵에 비해 미생물학적 진단률이 낮고 항결핵제 내성률이 증가하는 추세임을 알 수 있었다.

중증치주염이 치수조직에 미치는 영향 (The effect of advanced periodontitis on the dental pulp tissue)

  • In order to examine the effects of advanced periodontitis on the dental pulps, 38 extracted human teeth were examined histologically. The 38 teeth had a positive or negative state in the electric pulp test(EPT). In addition, almost of the 38 teeth had a deep pocket and severe mobility, and floating state. A medical and dental history was elicited. The extracted teeth fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution. The general tissue processing method was followed. The tissue block including the teeth was prepared for optical microscopy using hematoxillin-eosin staining. Among the 38 periodontally involved teeth, the dental pulps were respectively intact in 12(31%), and a pulp stone(or linear calcifications) was found in 18 teeeth(47%). In addition, 17 teeth(44%) had pulps exhibiting inflammatory reactions with varying intensities, such as hyperemia, pulp abscess, pulp necrosis. Among the 38 periodontally involved teeth, 37 teeth tested a positive to the EPT, and 7 teeth tested negative. The EPT positive 37 teeth had various histological features such as 7 normal pulp(18%), 17 pulp stone(44%), 1 hyperemia (2%), 9 pulpitis(23%), 5 root resorption(13%), 3 pulp abscess(7%), and 3 pulp necrosis(7%), In conclusion, it is suggested that in the EPT positive teeth, advanced periodontally involved teeth can cause inflammation of the dental pulp.

지리산 주요 수계의 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집분포의 특성 (A Characteristic of Community Distribution on Benthic Macro-invertebrates in Major Streams of Jirisan Mountain)

  • We have studied characteristics of community structure on the benthic macro-invertebrates at twelve selected sites in upstream, midstream and downstream of Paemsagol, Piagol, Chilseongol and Daeseonggol, major streams of Jirisan Mountain, for three years from April 2008 to September 2010. As a result, 2 phyla, 3 classes, 11 orders, 41 families, 119 species and 4,449 individuals of benthic macro-invertebrates have been collected and classified in this study. Among them EPT group (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera), commonly appearing taxa in clean stream ecosystem, was found most frequently. The highest species number of benthic macro-invertebrates were collected in 2008, the year with lower climatic influence including heavy rain. In almost all of survey sites 80% or over of EPT group were counted, and St. 1 scored highest rate of EPT group at 92.59%. Most dominant species was Ecdyonurus kibumensis at 12.83% of dominance index, and subdominant species was Goerodes KUb at 6.81% of dominance index. The investigation of the feeding function group indicated that gathering-collectors were dominant with 26 species and 1,334 individuals, while the number of filtering-collectors was lowest with 11 species and 230 individuals. This result represents that the feeding function group of Jirisan Mountain is mountainous stream-specific one. Both diversity index and richness index were lowest at the midstream of Chilseongol (St. 5), while the midstreams of Daeseonggol (St. 11) and Piagol (St. 8) were highest in diversity and richness indices respectively. The analyses of linear regression and correlation were performed in order to investigate and to predict the appearance aspect of EPT group by altitude. The results showed that the ratio of Plecopteran species number has increased by the elevation of the altitude at 0.05 significance level. Cluster analysis was also carried out for evaluating environmental similarities among survey sites. As a result, upper regions of Paemsagol (St. 1) and Piagol have clustered as most similar sites each other, while the midstream of Piagol (St. 8) has separated with lower similarity value than other sites in species composition.
