세제 및 생활하수 관련 오염성분이 수질오염에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Detergent and other Pollutants related Domestic Sewage on Water Pollution)

  • 시판 주방용세제와 비누 및 생활하수 관련 오염물질 등에 대해 화학적산소 요구량을 측정하여 수질오염부하량을 서로 비교하였으며, 이들 대상 시료의 최종적생분해도 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 결과와 우리나라 하천의 수질오염 및 하수처리 실태를 종합 검토하여, 합성세제가 수질오염에 미치는 영향을 비누 및 다른 오염물 등과 함께 비교 고찰하였다.

  • 합성세제가 수질오염에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위한 기초과정으로서 시판 주방용세제 3종을 대상으로 하여 1차적 생분해도와 최종적 생분해도를 측정하였다. 그 결과 대상시료의 1차적 생분해도는 한국공업규격(KS) 기준에 적합하였다. 그중에서도 1차적 생분해도가 빠른 제품이 최종적 생분해가 빠른 경향을 보였다.

  • Epithermal deposits are an important class of hydrothermal deposits, that have recently seen an surge of exploration and research, principally as significant resources of gold and silver. Epithermal deposits form at shallow depths (surface to 1-2km) and temperatures less than 30$0^{\circ}C$ (Hayba et al., 1985), and encompass a variety of low-sulfidation (near-neutral pH, reduced fluid; LS) and high-sulfidation (acidic and oxidized fluid; HS) deposits (Sillitoe, 1993; White and Hedenquist, 1995). 용접부의 피로강도 시험평가 및 해외규격과의 비교연구 (Fatigue Tests of Welded Joints and Comparison Study of Foreign Codes)

  • A lot of fatigue tests on a material, JIS SM490A, with yielding strength of about 350 MPa and tensile strength of about 520 MPa were carried out. Various butt-welded specimens such as reinforcement removed, as-welded and weld toe ground, several types of fillet-welded specimens and full-size box type components were used. After having obtained S-N curves for the above- mentioned specimens, fatigue strengths were compared to those of foreign design codes, AWS, BS 7608 and ENV. It was found the fatigue strengths at low cycles are not in a good agreement with the foreign codes, but the fatigue limits are in a good agreement.

  • Two new formulae for the design of beam-columns at room temperature have been proposed into Eurocode 3, prEN 1993-1-1 (2002), and are the result of great efforts made by two working groups that followed different approaches, a French-Belgian team and an Austrian-German one. Under fire conditions the prEN 1993-1-2 (structural fire design) presents formulae, for the design of beam-columns based on the prENV 1993-1-1 (1992). In order to study the possibility of having, in part 1-1 and part 1-2 of the Eurocode 3, the same approach, a numerical research was made using the finite element program SAFIR, developed at the University of Liege for the study of structures subjected to fire.

Simulation of Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall and Circulations with Regional Climate Model

  • It is well known that there is an inverse relationship between the strength of Indian summer monsoon Rainfall (ISMR) and extent of Eurasian snow cover/depth in the preceding season. Tibetan snow cover/depth also affects the Asian monsoon rainy season largely. The positive correlation between Tibetan sensible heat flux and southeast Asian rainfall suggest an inverse relationship between Tibetan snow cover and southeast Asian rainfall. Developments in Regional Climate Models suggest that the effect of Tibetan snow on the ISMR can be well studied by Limited Area Models (LAMs). LAMs are used for regional climate studies and operational weather forecast of several hours to 3 days in future. The Eta model developed by the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), the Fifth-Generation NCAR/Penn State Mesoscale Model (MM5) and Regional Climate Model (RegCM) have been used for weather prediction as well as for the study of present-day climate and variability over different parts of the world. Regional Climate Model (RegCM3) has been widely . used for various mesoscale studies. However, it has not been tested to study the characteristics of circulation features and associated rainfall over India so far. In the present study, Regional Climate Model (RegCM-3) has been integrated from 1 st April to 30th September for the years 1993-1996 and monthly mean monsoon circulation features and rainfall simulated by the model at 55km resolution have been studied for the Indian summer monsoon season. Characteristics of wind at 850hPa and 200hPa, temperature at 500hPa, surface pressure and rainfall simulated by the model have been examined for two convective schemes such as Kuo and Grell with Arakawa-Schubert as the closure scheme, Model simulated monsoon circulation features have been compared with those of NCEP/NCAR reanalyzed fields and the rainfall with those of India Meteorological Department (IMD) observational rainfall datasets, Comparisons of wind and temperature fields show that Grell scheme is closer to the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis, The influence of Tibetan snowdepth in spring season on the summer monsoon circulation features and subsequent rainfall over India have been examined. For such sensitivity experiment, NIMBUS-7 SMMR snowdepth data have been used as a boundary condition in the RegCM3, Model simulation indicates that ISMR is reduced by 30% when 10cm of snow has been introduced over Tibetan region in the month of previous April. The existence of Tibetan snow in RegCM3 also indicates weak lower level monsoon westerlies and upper level easterlies.

주정폐수 혐기성 소화의 저해작용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Inhibition of Anaerobic Digestion for Alcohol Distillery Wastes)

  • 주정폐수의 혐기성 소화 저해작용을 이해하기 위하여 회분식 혐기성 소화를 수행하였다. 나맥원료 주정폐수와 백미원료 주정폐수를 각각 분리막으로 여과하여 순수한 용존 유기물 부분과 고형물질 부분을 따로 분리하였다. 주정폐수의 용존 유기물 부분과 고형물질 부분 및 분리하지 않은 원 주정폐수를 기질로 사용하여 회분식 혐기성 소화를 수행하였다. 나맥원료 주정폐수의 고형물 부분에서 발생하는 프로피온산은 용존성 유기물 부분에서 발생하는 프로피온산의 비율보다 약 2배 가량 많았으며, 원 폐수에서 발생하는 프로피온산의 비율보다도 많았다. 나맥원료 주정폐수의 혐기성 소화 저해작용은 고형물질 부분 혐기성 소화과정 중 생성된 다량의 프로피온산에 연유될 수 있을 것이다.
