Multipath Error Analysis and Scenario Generation for Verifying KRS Environment

  • KRS which is subsystem of Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) performs a role of collecting and monitoring GPS signals. In order to generate the accurate correction message, the site which meets the requirements should be selected and verification to meet each requirement should be accompanied. When the sites are selected, the environmental considerations are EMI, clear horizon (CH) and multipath. Of these, EMI and CH can be checked for satisfaction by instrumentation, but multipath error is difficult to predict. Therefore, multipath error analysis for the installation position of actual antenna at each KRS site should be preceded, and multipath scenario should be generated for each location to analyze the effects of the resulting system performance. In this paper, based on satellite signals collected from each KRS sites, the method for analyzing multipath error in each KRS sites is described, and the multipath error is analyzed. Also to perform an analysis of the effects on system performance due to multipath error, multipath error modeling is performed for the generation of simulation scenarios.

-40℃에서 동작하는 150W급 SMPS 개발 (Development of a 150W Switched Mode Power Supply operates at -40℃)

  • 본 논문에서는 $-40^{\circ}C$에서 동작하는 150W급 LED조명용 전원공급장치(SMPS) 회로를 설계하였다. SMPS의 특성 해석을 위해서 150W급 LED 조명 구동 정전류 회로를 설계하고 시제품의 제작 및 성능을 측정하였다. 150W급 LED조명용 SMPS 회로의 동작온도범위는 $-40{\sim}70^{\circ}C$이며, SMPS 예측 수명은 24시간 기준으로 1.29~2.25년으로 예측되었다. 초가속수명시험 및 EMI 전도 시험을 통해 이상이 없음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper gives the activities and trend analysis handled in the ITU-T study group 5 meeting. In the meeting, the title of SG(Study Group)5 was changed into 'Environment and climate change' since the role of the former Focus Group 'ICT and Climate Change' was moved to SG5. SG5 consists of 3 WP(Working Part) and have total 20 Questions. The Recommendations to be established or revised were discussed and new Recommendations, K.79 and K.80, were consented. The agenda for the human exposure to electromagnetic fields due to radio systems and mobile equipment was focused and discussed in detail. Also, related to ICT and climate change, new questions to be studied in this study period were discussed and defined.

  • Recently, IMO(International Maritime Organization) have provided the recommendation of EMI and EMS for radio communication and equipments of marine from SOLAS convention at July 1st 2002. In this paper, we measured EMC environment on the HANBADA, which is Korea Maritime University training ship, and the 88KUMEO of a fishing boat for basic EMC environment of a ship. Measured Band is from 30 MHz to 2 GHz, polarization measurement is processed both vertical and horizontal polarization. We analysed the results in consideration of permissible criteria.

노이즈 환경 하에서 태스크와 메시지 스케줄링 (Scheduling of Tasks and Messages under Noise Environment)

  • Nowadays, control systems consist of smart sensors, smart actuators, and controllers connected via fieldbus. Some devices such as motors in plant environments generate high degrees of EMI or noise. This noise may cause communication errors and make the successful transmission of data longer. Therefore, the noise condition has to be considered at the design of a reliable control system based on a network. This paper presents a scheduling method of task and message to guarantee the given end-to-end constraints under noise environments. A noise model with multi-sources of noise is used, and the analysis method of message's response time is presented when the noise model is applied to CAN (Controller Area Network). Two kinds of noise models are applied to an example system, and the effect to each control loop s end-to-end response time is analyzed. We believe that the proposed method help system designers design the control system guaranteeing its requirements under noise environment.

의료기관내 전자파환경 실태와 그 영향 (I) (A study on Actual Condition and Interfererence of Electromagnetic Fields inside of The Hospital (I))

  • 일반적인 전자파환경 중에서 의료기관은 특수한 전자파환경을 형성하고 있다. 첨단전자산업의 발전과 함께 다양한 주파수와 전자계를 출력하는 의료장비는 그 출력자체가 진단이나 치료에 중요한 요소인 동시에 정밀한 장비에 교란을 줄 수 있는 요인을 지니고 있다는 점이다. 또 일반적인 휴대통신장비의 확산도 이러한 환경요인에 인자가 될 수 있다. 특히 중앙수술실이나, 중환자실, 인공신장실등의 의료장비가 밀집된 시설에서는 주파수나 강도면에서 다양한 형태의 전자파환경을 보였으며, 국내외 규정에서 정의하는 안전지침보다 사용거리나 그 강도면에서 열악한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 전기소작기 (전기메스)는 넓은 대역에 걸쳐 50㏈$\mu$V/m 이상의 강도의 전자파를 복사함으로서 상대적 전자파감성 장비에 대하여 보다 감쇄된 환경적 고려가 요구되고, 흔히 사용하는 보호자들의 이동전화기도 중환자실 출입구에서 사용할 경우 거의 100$\mu$V/m 가까운 복사잡음을 방출함으로서 금지 영역을 제정하여 배제할 필요성이 있다는 결론을 얻었다. 본 연구에서 의료기관내 특정 전자파환경을 파악하고, 그 실태에 따른 개선점을 지속적으로 보고함으로서 효과적이고 양질의 진료환경을 제공할 수 있다.

  • The position information of the rotor are required while the SRG(Switched Reluctance Generator) is drived. The position information is generally provided by shaft encoder or resolver. But it is weak in the dusty, high temperator and EMI environment. Therefore, It is required for the sensor to be eliminated from SRG. In this paper, a estimation algorithm for the rotor position of the SRG is introducted and a constant DC-link voltage is controled by PID controller. The estimation algorithm is imple--mened by using the instantaneous flux profile, and the initial position is estimated by injecting high frequency pulse voltage. It is proved that the rotor position is esti--mated very well by the exeriments.

  • The major problem encountered in satellite design is EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) and EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility). Here, our focus is on the effects of protons on the electronic system. The SEU (Single Event Upset) results from the level change of stored information due to photon radiation and temperature in the space and the nuclear power plant environment. The impact of SEU on PLD (Programmable Logic Devices) technology is most apparent in ROM/SRAM/DRAM devices wherein the state of storage cell can be upset. In this paper, a simple and powerful test techniques is suggested, and the results are presented for the analysis and future reference. The test results are compared with that of JPL test report. In our experiment, the proton radiation facility available at KIRAMS (Korea Institute of Radiological Medical Sciences) has been applied on a commercially available SRAM manufactured by Hynix Semiconductor Company.

Measurement of Transient Electric Field Emission from a 245 kV Gas Insulated Substation Model during Switching

  • The transient fields generated during switching operations in a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) are associated with high frequency components in the order of few tens of MHz. These transient fields leak into the external environment of the gas-insulated equipment and can interfere with the nearby electronics. Measurements of the transient fields are thus required to characterise the interference caused by switching phenomena in such substations. In view of the above, E-field emission measurement during a switching operation has been carried out for a 245 kV GIS model, using a resonant dipole antenna and D-dot sensor. The characteristics of the E-fields i.e., frequency spectra and their levels have been analysed and are reported in the paper. Suitability of the measurements has been confirmed by comparing frequency spectra of the measured and computed transient fields.

  • The supply voltage has been drop rapidly and the total length of the wire increased exponentially in the nanometer SoC design environment. The ideal supply voltage was dropped sharply by the resistance and parasitic devices which stayed on the kilometers-long wire length. Even worse, it could severely affect the functional behavior of the block of the design. To analyze the effects of the long wire of the SoC while maintaining the accuracy, the modeling of the current and the RC conversion of the parasitic techniques are researched and applied. By these modeling and conversion, the multi-million gates HDTV Chipset can be analyzed within a day. The benchmark analysis of the HDTV SoC showed the superiority to the conventional methods in performance and accuracy.
