  • The present paper computes the refractive indices of different corona viruses (H5N1, H5N2, H9N2, H4N6, FAdV and IBV) through reflectance analysis of a virus solution. The computational analysis indicates that the refractive indices of all viruses are negative at the signal of 412 nm. Further the numerical output shows that the infectious bronchitis viruses (family of novel corona viruses, COVID-19) have higher negative refractive indices as compared to other corona viruses. Finally refractive indices of the family of COVID-19 are investigated with respect to the EID (Electronic infusion Device) concentration of the viruses, showing that the refractive index which ranges from "-0.96725 to -0.999998" corresponds to '0.01 to 10000' EID virus concentration.

  • In the early phases of the product life cycle, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is recently used to support the decision-making for the product concepts, and the best alternative can be selected based on its estimated LCA and benefits. Both the lack of detailed information and time for a full LCA for a various range of design concepts need a new approach for the environmental analysis. This paper explores a new approximate LCA methodology for the product concepts by grouping products according to their environmental characteristics and by mapping product attributes into environmental impact driver (EID) index. The relationship is statistically verified by exploring the correlation between total impact indicator and energy impact category. Then, a neural network approach is developed to predict an approximate LCA of grouping products in conceptual design. Trained learning algorithms for the known characteristics of existing products will quickly give the result of LCA for newly designed products. The training is generalized by using product attributes for an EID in a group as well as another product attributes for the other EIDs in other groups. The neural network model with back propagation algorithm is used, and the results are compared with those of multiple regression analysis. The proposed approach does not replace the full LCA but it would give some useful guidelines for the design of environmentally conscious products in conceptual design phase.

  • The weapon system has developed by adding various functions because of the warfare change. And, an weapon system test set (WSTS) that is used to test and judge the condition of weapon system also deal with a lot of complex information. However, almost WSTS is developed on the basis of developer-centric. Because of it, it is hard to make a result by apprehending information on WSTS's display. Thus, I proposed a new display of WSTS by adapting the Ecological Interface Design(EID) Methodology to reduce operator's cognitive workload and assure safe testing. WSTS's Display is developed through Information Requirement and Work Domain Model as a result of Work Domain Analysis. The most powerful thing in the new display is that operator can identify his testing and status of WSTS directly. I expect that it reduces operator's cognitive workload and helps safe testing.

  • Air-to-ground missile(AGM), which can be operated by being mounted on the outside of the aircraft, is capable of precision strikes, ensuring high survivability. Helicopter, which is one of the AGM operating platforms, is reported to experience a lightning strike once between 1000 and 20000 flight hours in average. When the lightning strikes the helicopter fuselage, lightning transient signal can be induced to internal and external electronic equipment cables through the skin of the helicopter. If the transient signal exceeding the criteria to electrically initiated device(EID) related to the explosive in the AGM can affect the safety of the helicopter by a warhead explosion, etc. In this paper, we suggest an indirect lightning test method to prove the safety of AGM on helicopter, and present the indirect lightning test results.

  • This paper focuses on a header compression method for the Authentication Header (AH) and Encapsulation Security Payload (ESP) for application to 6LoWPAN. Based on the context, an extendible compression method is developed by analysing each field of the AH and ESP. The method is carried out by resetting the AH and ESP header compression formats, adding a MOD field, and setting different working modes. Authentication, encryption, and a mixture of certification and encryption are provided as flexible options. In addition, the value of the original IPv6 extensible header ID (EID) field can be retained, while the number of occupied NHC_ID values can be decreased for future extendibility. The experimental results show the feasibility and validity of the current compression method. By comparison with other solutions, the new mechanism is demonstrated to be advantageous in terms of compression ratio, flexibility and extendibility.

  • A model of an advanced aircraft electric power system is developed and studied under variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF) operation. The frequency of the generator's output voltage is varied from 400-Hz to 800-Hz for different loading scenarios. Power conversions are obtained using 12-pulse power converters. To reduce the harmonic contents of the generator output waveforms, two high-pass passive filters are designed and installed one at a time at the generator terminals. The performance of the two passive filters is compared according to their losses and effectiveness. The power quality characteristics of the studied VSCF aircraft electric power system are presented and the effectiveness of the proposed filter is demonstrated through compliance with the newly published aircraft electrical standards MIL-STD-704F.

  • Electronic warfare Support(ES) system measures pulse characteristics for received RF signals that received from all directions. ES system discriminates the pulse trains that have a rule, correlationship, continuance from collected data and analyze the characteristics of the data, and identify the emitters by comparison with emitter identification data(EID). Because pulse density is very high and various signal source exists at modem signal environments, high-speed and accurate signal analysis is needed for realtime countermeasure to emitters. Grouping alleviates the load of signal analysis process and supports reliable analysis. In this paper, we suggest an adaptive clustering scheme regarding signal patterns.

  • The PMMA/Ge/AZ trilayer resist decreased proximity effect of backscattering electrons and corrected pattern distoration in order to from deep submicron patterns. In the experiment, the prosiemity effect is decreased by 11% and 30% for the case of 0.9$\mu$m and 1.7$\mu$m AZ, respectively, in trilayer resist compared to monolyer resist. also, the EID of 240$\AA$ Ge film is smaller than that of 500$\AA$ film by 365. 0.1$\mu$m line/space was formed in the 2000$\AA$ PMMA layer with the condition of dose 330${\mu}C/cm^{2}$ and of 150sec of develop time in MIBK : IPA (1:3) developer.
