The objective of research is to find out exogenous variables that influence the usage and performance EDI in the Korea firms. Specifically the goals of this research are; (1) to examine relationships between exogenous variables, such as management, technology, inter-firm relationship characteristics, and EDI performance, and (2) to measure EDI volume, EDI diversity, EDI depth among Korea firms. The questionnaire consists of two versions; One for the EDI system managers and the other for the EDI users. The analysis of this study is designed as cross level to examine the causal relationship among variables in different analysis level. The reliability and validity of data was tested by explanatory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis. Also, the structural equation model(SEM) analysis was performed to test the usefulness of the model. The analysis results revealed that education level, IS growth, trust, support, power are major influential variables on the usage level and performance of EDI. Especially, persuasive power turned out to be more important than coercive power, and technical financial support from organizations was also found to be a significant variables.

Many companies are using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper prognoses a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML (extensible Markup language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for the expression of WWW (World-Wide Web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

This paper is about the system to process XML-based EDI e-document. This system does not use the script file when translating EDI e-document into the XML-based EDI-document. We design and implement the scanner and mapper which are the e-document processors with binary format used when reading and writing the documents. Also, we design and implement the mapping tools that graphically define the translation rules among e-documents. Therefore, the proposed XML-based EDI e-document processing system has characteristics advantages of XML and more benefits than the previous EDI e-document processing system such as faster speed, convenience, and better adaptability. Due to these advantages, this system will be widely used as the B2B gateway system.

The fact that EDI is the IT system between partners implies the importance of studying the affecting factors associated with partnership in EDI. But there are few researches about the inter-organizational factors related to the relationship between partner firms, so called partnerships, influencing the implementation of EDI. Therefore our research is to investigate the relationship between partnership and EDI implementation with inter-organizational perspective. Additionally, we investigate the moderating role of EDI adoption attitude when the companies are divided into two groups, proactive attitude and reactive attitude. As a result, first, we found the positive relationships between the partnership factors about partnerships among trading partners and the degree of EDI implementation. Second, we expected that proactive firms have stronger significant relationships than reactive firms, but only the relationships between interdependence and integration, interdependence and utilization and trust and integration were proved to be signigicant among ten relationships. Third, we found positive relationships between EDI adoption attitude and EDI implementation.

The purpose of this research is to provide strategic guidelines for EDI transaction companies to migrate from EDI system to Web-based e-Business frameworks such as ebXML, RosettaNet and Web Services. Due to various limitations of EDI and evolution of Web technologies, a lot of firms want to adopt Internet based B2B standards However, they are seeking ways of migrating from EDI to open and public B2B frameworks smoothly not giving up existing EDI system at a time. Therefore, it is very important to provide migration strategies and guidelines for companies to migrate from EDI system to Web-based B2B frameworks. The strategic guidelines provided in this paper can be used as a practical guidance in developing migration strategies of EDI companies.

유효가뭄지수(Effective Drought Index, EDI)는 현재 기후에 대한 과거, 미래 기후에서의 상대적인 가뭄 특성 변화를 평가하기 위해 최근 30년간의 일 강수량 자료를 고정된 기준치로 사용한다. 이에 따라 장기간에 걸친 다양한 기후변화에 대한 인간 사회의 적응을 고려하며 가뭄의 영향을 평가할 때에는 한계점이 있다. 이 연구에서는 EDI의 기능을 확장하기 위해 자가교정 유효가뭄지수(self-calibrating EDI, scEDI)를 제안하고 그 성능을 평가하였다. 기존 EDI와는 다르게 scEDI는 관측시점을 기준으로 30년씩 이동하며 시간에 따라 변화하는 기후값을 기준치로 사용한다. 우리나라 서울관측소에서 1777년부터 2020년까지 누적된 244년간의 일 강수량 자료를 바탕으로, scEDI와 3개의 서로 다른 기후 기준치를 가진 기존 EDI를 계산하여 평가된 가뭄들의 특성을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 기후 기준치에 따라 서로 다른 가뭄 특성들을 보인 기존 EDI와 달리, scEDI는 변화하는 기후를 고려하여 분석기간에 걸쳐 가뭄의 특성을 일관되게 평가할 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 1807년부터 1907년까지 가뭄과 관련된 조선왕조실록의 기록과 scEDI가 평가한 과거 가뭄 사례들과 비교해 본 결과, scEDI가 탐지한 가뭄 사례들과 실제 조선왕조실록의 가뭄 기록이 비교적 잘 일치하여, scEDI가 과거의 사회적 가뭄을 잘 탐지하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 최근의 사회적 가뭄에 대한 scEDI의 탐지 능력을 평가하기 위해 구글과 네이버에서 2016년부터 2018년까지 수집된 가뭄 관련 검색어 소셜 빅데이터를 사용하여서 비교하였다. 그 결과, 과거와 마찬가지로 현재에서도 scEDI가 평가한 가뭄의 변화와 소셜 빅데이터에서 나타난 가뭄에 대한 사회적 반응이 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

본 논문에서는 기존의 항만물류 EDI가 가진 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 제시된 XML/EDI 에 대해 살펴보고 항만 물류에 XML/EDI를 적용하기 위해 기존의 EDI 메시지를 XML Schema 로 변환하는 기법을 소개한다. XML 문서의 논리적 구조를 표현하는 방법은 크게 DTD(Document Type Definition) 와 XML Schema 의두 가지 방식이 있으며,k XML Schema 는 기존의 DTD 에 비해 다양한 데이터 타입의 지원, namespace 지원, open-ended 데이터 모델의 지원등 여러 장점이 있기 때문에 항만 EDI 메시지를 XML Schema 로 변환하면 DTD 로 변환하는 것에 비해 높은 표현력과 다양한 부가적인 처리를 지원할 수 있다.

본 EDI변환처리시스템은 EDI문서 표준을 데이타베이스화해서 EDI문서 표준의 변경시 관리를 용이하게 한다. EDI표준데이타베이스를 table-driven방식으로 참조해서 표준 서식의 생성과 입력, 변환처리를 하도록 설계함으로써 시스템 구성을 간결하게 했으며, EDI표준변경에 따른 영향을 최소화시켰다. 또한 입력, 송수신된 EDI문서를 효율적으로 관리하는 데이타베이스를 구축했다. 본 시스템은 공중전화망을 통하여 변환 처리된 데이타를 전송하는 기능을 제공하고 호스트 컴퓨터에 대한 Front-End형 및 마이크로 컴퓨터의 Stand-Alone형으로 활용할 수 있다.

세계는 개방화되어 가고 있으며, 이에 따라 정보의 가치가 더욱 중요하게 되고 있다. 국가와 기업이 경쟁에서 살아남기 위해서 정보의 효율적인 관리와 공유, 그리고 가치 있는 정보로 가공하는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 환경에서 등장한 것이 EDI이다. XML/EDl는 전통적인 EDI의 단점을 해결하며 표준의 한가지 접근방법으로 개방적이고 사용자간의 상호 대화가 가능하며 객체지향적 이라는 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 XML을 EDI에 도입함으로써 대규모의 전자 상거래의 자동화를 가능하게 하며 고비용, 저효율적인 EDI 문제점을 해결하는 XML을 활용한 EDI시스템의 설계 및 구현의 한 방안을 제시한다.

EDI는 기업간 거래정보를 컴퓨터 통신기술을 이용하여 전자적으로 교환하는 고도 정보서비스의 하나이다. EDI는 앞으로 기업통신의 핵심적인 도구로서, 또한 기업의 생존과 경쟁력 확보를 위한 전략적인 수단으로 널리 사용될 것으로 예측된다. 본고는 EDI의 출현배경과 EDI 서비스시스템의 구조와 기능 및 EDI 표준화 활동을 알아보고, EDI관련 국내.외 동향을 조사.분석하여, 이에 따른 대응방안을 논한다.
