  • While the electronic commerce (EC) applies to most products, whether digitized or not, the EC for fisheries does not seem very successful. Many reasons lie behind this. However, insufficient and/or inconsistent legal and institutional provisions and lack of adequate government supports should be an immediate concern. This study identifies and analyzes problems with the current electronic commerce and trade for fisheries, and suggests institutional provisions and policies for successful expansion of the newly introduced marketing and distribution system.

  • It is generally believed that, compared to traditional commerce, Electronic Commerce(EC) is more difficult to gain and sustain customers. One of the major reasons that customers do not use EC is lack of trust. Previous researches on the EC user's trust suggested that risk is an antecedent of trust and the concept of trust is highly related to risk. This study proposed a combined model in which includes the factors based on generic information security risk analysis methodology and trust factors in EC. The objectives of this study are follows; first, investigating the relationship between trust and risk that are antecedent factors of purchase intention, and second, examining the validity of information security risk analysis approach in EC environment. Based on the survey results of 143 MBA students statistical analysis showed that factors like threats and controls were significantly related to risk, but assets did not have statistically significant relationship with risk. Controls and knowledge of EC had meaningful effect on user's trust. This study found that risk analysis methodology which is generally used at organizational level is practically useful at user level on EC environment. In conclusion, the results of this study would be applied to generic situation of information security for analyzing and managing the risk. Besides, this study emphasized that EC vendors need to pay more attention to the information security risk to gain customer's trust.

There are no limitations in cyberspace, for example, time, space, and country boundary because every business can be processed in this cyberspace. The use of modern means of communication such as electronic mail and electronic data interchange for the conduct of international trade transactions has been increasing rapidly and is expected to develop further as technical supports such as information highways and the Internet become more widely accessible. However, the communication of legally significant information in the form of paperless messages may be hindered by legal obstacles to the use of such messages, or by uncertainty as to their legal effect or validity. This obstacles pose many difficulties for conducting EC through Internet. The purpose of this thesis is to suggest several issues to be taken into consideration in conducting EC in near future. For this purpose, the article will first take up subjects of what is the present state of EC, what are the legal issues emerging therefrom.

  • CALS/EC is about doing business electronically. It is based on the electronic processing and transmission of data, including text, sound and video. It encompasses many diverse activities including electronic trading of goods and services, online delivery of digital content, electronic fund transfers, electronic share trading, electronic bills of lading, commercial auctions, collaborative design and engineering, online sourcing, public procuremet, direct consumer marketing, and after-sales service. It involves both products(e.g. consumer goods, specialised medical equipment) and services(e.g. information services, financial and legal services); traditional activities(e.g. healthcare, education) and new activities (e.g. virtual malls). CALS/EC will be emerging to replace and substitute the role of the conventional market. By changing and eliminating some processes of the transactions, the electronic market and the electronic commerce will redistribute the power and hence the benefits of the market activities. Traditional way of doing business may enter into the new electronic market because the role and function of trust and established reputation will be reinforced in the electronic market. The CALS/EC through the Internet has been in the spotlight in the shopping behavior of the consumers. Accordingly Corporates are trying to adapt themselves to those rapidly changing environments being affected by the Internet. Among others, particularly to be noted is the CALS/EC between corporations and consumers whose potential growth can be considered very substantial. This report, focusing on the introduction of CALS/EC for the logistics of SMEs, will allow us to prepare more efficiently for the coming 21st Century. It is obvious that CALS/EC is fast becoming the useful way of exchanging not only information but products in business between firm-to-firm and firm-to-customer.
