The human follicular f1uids(F.F.) may be considered to contribute the maturation of the oocytes on the in vitro culture. To investigate the effects of epidermal growth factor (E.G.F.), which is present in mature and immature follicular fluids, we had experiments of mouse oocytes maturation in vitro. The endpoints assayed were rated as percentage of oocytes undergoing germinal vesicle breakdown(G.V.B.D.) and polar body(P.B.) formation at 12 hours after in vitro culture. The rates of G.B.B.D. were 87% in mature F.F. 68% in immature F.F. and 78% in Ham's F-10 medium respectively. And overall the mature F.F. seem to stimulate on in vitro oocyte maturation compared with either immature F.F. or Ham's F-10 medium. As the concentration of addition of E.G.F. in immature F.F., the rates of G.V.B.D. and P.B. formation were 82 %, 23% in addition with 2 ng/ml while 84%, 32% in addition with 4 ng/ml respectivly. And at the concentration of addition of E.G.F. in Ham's F-10 media as well, the rates of G.V.B.D. and P.B. formation were 84%, 40% and 82%, 44% in addition with each 2ng, 4ng. AccordinglY there was no influence on the oocytes maturation at the addition of E.G.F. to each immature F.F. and Ham's F-10 medium. In conclusion, the E.G.F. is not able to induce oocyte maturation independent of it's effects in immature F.F. and Ham's F-10 media.
The Newton-Raphson iterative algorithm for finding a floating point reciprocal square mot calculates it by performing a fixed number of multiplications. In this paper, a variable latency Newton-Raphson's reciprocal square root algorithm is proposed that performs multiplications a variable number of times until the error becomes smaller than a given value. To find the rediprocal square root of a floating point number F, the algorithm repeats the following operations: '$X_{i+1}=\frac{{X_i}(3-e_r-{FX_i}^2)}{2}$, $i\in{0,1,2,{\ldots}n-1}$' with the initial value is '$X_0=\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}{\pm}e_0$'. The bits to the right of p fractional bits in intermediate multiplication results are truncated and this truncation error is less than '$e_r=2^{-p}$'. The value of p is 28 for the single precision floating point, and 58 for the double precision floating point. Let '$X_i=\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}{\pm}e_i$, there is '$X_{i+1}=\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}-e_{i+1}$, where '$e_{i+1}{<}\frac{3{\sqrt{F}}{{e_i}^2}}{2}{\mp}\frac{{Fe_i}^3}{2}+2e_r$'. If '$|\frac{\sqrt{3-e_r-{FX_i}^2}}{2}-1|<2^{\frac{\sqrt{-p}{2}}}$' is true, '$e_{i+1}<8e_r$' is less than the smallest number which is representable by floating point number. So, $X_{i+1}$ is approximate to '$\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}$. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the input values, the average number of multiplications Per an operation is derived from many reciprocal square root tables ($X_0=\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}{\pm}e_0$) with varying sizes. The superiority of this algorithm is proved by comparing this average number with the fixed number of multiplications of the conventional algorithm. Since the proposed algorithm only performs the multiplications until the error gets smaller than a given value, it can be used to improve the performance of a reciprocal square root unit. Also, it can be used to construct optimized approximate reciprocal square root tables. The results of this paper can be applied to many areas that utilize floating point numbers, such as digital signal processing, computer graphics, multimedia, scientific computing, etc.
Garnet has been considered as a possible matrix for the immobilization of radioactive actinides. It is expected that Febased garnet be able to have the high substitution ability of actinide elements because ionic radius of Fe in tetrahedral site is larger than that of Si of Sibased garnet. Accordingly, we synthesized Fegarnet with the batch composition of $Ca_{2,5}$C $e_{0.5}$Z $r_2$F $e_3$$O_{12}$ and $Ca_2$CeZrFeF $e_3$$O_{12}$ and studied their phase relations and properties. Mixed samples were fabricated in pellet forms under the pressure of 400 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and were sintered in the temperature range of 1100∼140$0^{\circ}C$ in atmospheric conditions. Phase identification and chemical composition of synthesized samples were analyzed by XRD and SEM/EDS. In results, where the compounds were sintered at 130$0^{\circ}C$, we optimally obtained Fegarnets as the main phase, even though some minor phases like perovskite were included. The compositions of Fegarnets synthesized from the batch compositions of $Ca_{2,5}$C $e_{0.5}$Z $r_2$F $e_3$$O_{12}$ and $Ca_2$CeZrFeF $e_3$$O_{12}$, are $Ca_{2.53.2}$C $e_{0.30.7}$Z $r_{1.82.8}$F $e_{1.93.2}$$O_{12}$ and $Ca_{2.22.5}$C $e_{0.81.0}$Z $r_{1.31.6}$ F $e_{0.4.07}$ F $e_{33.2}$$O_{12}$, respectively. Ca contents were exceeded and Ce contents were exceeded or depleted in 8coodinated site, comparing to the initial batch composition. These results were caused by the compensation of the difference of ionic radius between Ca and Ce.

In this study, the clay specimen of Busan-Gyeongnam region was used for unconfined compression test to compare the relationship formula between elasticity modulus at peak($E_f$), elasticity modulus at $q_u$/2($E_{50}$), and cohesion when the sample breaks down by region and by level of cohesion. As the result, the regional results were found to be in the range of $E_f$ = 14c~47c and $E_{50}$ = 43c~137c; by cohesion, the results for very soft ground was $E_f$ = 15c~40c and $E_{50}$ = 54c~101c, $E_f$ = 13c~63c and $E_{50$ = 40c~147c for soft ground, $E_f$ = 18c~47c and $E_{50}$ = 57c~144c for medium ground, and $E_f$ = 25c~45c and $E_{50}$ = 68c~115c for solid ground. The average of the relationship formula between elasticity modulus-cohesion for the clay used in this study was $E_f$ = 32c, $E_{50}$ = 93c. This is 2.5~5 times smaller than the existing relationship formula.
Sudden enhancements of daytime NmF2 appeared in Anyang ionosonde data during summer seasons in 2006-2007. In order to investigate the causes of this unusual enhancement, we compared Anyang NmF2's with the total electron contents (GPS TECs) observed at Daejeon, and also with ionosonde data at at mid-latitude stations. First, we found no similar increase in Daejeon GPS TEC when the sudden enhancements of Anyang NmF2 occurred. Second, we investigated NmF2's observed at other ionosonde stations that use the same ionosonde model and auto-scaling program as the Anyang ionosonde. We found similar enhancements of NmF2 at these ionosonde stations. Moreover, the analysis of ionograms from Athens and Rome showed that there were sporadic-E layers with high electron density during the enhancements in NmF2. The auto-scaling program (ARTIST 4.5) used seems to recognize sporadic-E layer echoes as a F2 layer trace, resulting in the erroneous critical frequency of F2 layer (foF2). Other versions of the ARTIST scaling program also seem to produce similar erroneous results. Therefore we conclude that the sudden enhancements of NmF2 in Anyang data were due to the misrecognition of sporadic-E echoes as a F-layer by the auto-scaling program. We also noticed that although the scaling program flagged confidence level (C-level) of an ionogram as uncertain when a sporadic-E layer occurs, it still automatically computed erroneous foF2's. Therefore one should check the confidence level before using long term ionosonde data that were produced by an auto-scaling program.
This study aims at exploring the degree of phonetic similarity between Korean and Japanese vowels in terms of acoustic features by performing the speech production test on Korean speakers and Japanese speakers. For this purpose, the speech of 16 Japanese speakers for Japanese speech data, and the speech of 16 Korean speakers for Korean speech data were utilized. The findings in assessing the degree of the similarity of the 7 nearest equivalents of the Korean and Japanese vowels are as follows: First, Korean /i/ and /e/ turned out to display no significant differences in terms of F1 and F2 with their counterparts, Japanese /i/ and /e/, and the distribution of F1 and F2 of Korean /i/ and /e/ in the distributional map completely overlapped with Japanese /i/ and /e/. Accordingly, Korean /i/ and /e/ were believed to be "identical." Second, Korean /a/, /o/, and /i/ displayed a significant difference in either F1 or F2, but showed a great similarity in distribution of F1 and F2 with Japanese /a/, /o/, and /m/ respectively. Korean /a/ /o/, and /i/, therefore, were categorized as very similar to Japanese vowels. Third, Korean /u/, which has the counterpart /m/ in Japanese, showed a significant difference in both F1 and F2, and only half of the distribution overlapped. Thus, Korean /u/ was analyzed as being a moderately similar vowel to Japanese vowels. Fourth, Korean /${\wedge}$/ did not have a close counterpart in Japanese, and was classified as "the least similar vowel."
The effects of prostaglandins in hatching and implantation have been studied but the results were various, and those are not well known by the embryonic stage. The present study examined the effects of prostaglandin $E_2$(PG $E_2$) and prostaglandin $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ (PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$) on the expansion and hatching of mouse embryos by embryonic stage. Also we tried to measure the concentration of prostaglandins of morula, expanded, and hatching embryos. In early morula stage embryos, high concentration of PG $E_2$(>100$\mu$M) showed cytotoxicity but PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ did not. The hatching was inhibited all groups but not gave negative effects on expansion. In 84 hr and 96 hr stage embryos, the hatching rate was decreased at all treatment groups but not inhibited the expansion. When combine prostaglandin with indomethacin, the hatching rate was increased significantly compared to the prostaglandin-treated groups, and as lower and lower the PG $E_2$ concentration, the hatching rate increased to the control level. The embryonic synthesis of PG $E_2$ increased dramatically but that of PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ increased gradually. PG $E_2$ showed cytotoxicity at early stage embryos much than late stage embryos, but PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ did not. Hatching was inhibited by the high PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ concentration. It is suggested that the inhibition of hatching might be at resulted from cytotoxicity of PG $E_2$ on embryo. However, it is thought that the mechanisms of inhibition of hatching are different between PG $E_2$ and PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$. In conclusion, it can be suggested that PG $E_2$ and PG $F_2$$_{\alpha}$ concerned with the expansion and hatching, and their effects on hatching were different by the embryonic stage.$/ concerned with the expansion and hatching, and their effects on hatching were different by the embryonic stage.
To evaluate the involvement of translation initiation factors eIF4E and eIFiso4E in Chilli veinal mottle virus (ChiVMV) infection in pepper, we conducted a genetic analysis using a segregating population derived from a cross between Capsicum annuum 'Dempsey' containing an elF4E mutation ($pvr1^2$) and C. annuum 'Perennial' containing an elFiso4E mutation (pvr6). C. annuum 'Dempsey' was susceptible and C. annuum 'Perennial' was resistant to ChiVMV. All $F_1$ plants showed resistance, and $F_2$ individuals segregated in a resistant-susceptible ratio of 166:21, indicating that many resistance loci were involved. Seventy-five $F_2$ and 329 $F_3$ plants of 17 families were genotyped with $pvr1^2$ and pvr6 allele-specific markers, and the genotype data were compared with observed resistance to viral infection. All plants containing homozygous genotypes of both $pvr1^2$ and pvr6 were resistant to ChiVMV, demonstrating that simultaneous mutations in elF4E and eIFiso4E confer resistance to ChiVMV in pepper. Genotype analysis of $F_2$ plants revealed that all plants containing homozygous genotypes of both $pvr1^2$ and pvr6 showed resistance to ChiVMV. In protein-protein interaction experiments, ChiVMV viral genome-linked protein (VPg) interacted with both eIF4E and eIFiso4E. Silencing of elF4E and eIFiso4E in the VIGS experiment showed reduction in ChiVMV accumulation. These results demonstrated that ChiVMV can use both eIF4E and eIFiso4E for replication, making simultaneous mutations in eIF4E and eIFiso4E necessary to prevent ChiVMV infection in pepper.
Let G(V, E) be a simple graph, and let f be an integer function on V with $1{\leq}f(v){\leq}d(v)$ to each vertex $v{\in}V$. An f-edge cover-coloring of a graph G is a coloring of edge set E such that each color appears at each vertex $v{\in}V$ at least f(v) times. The f-edge cover chromatic index of G, denoted by ${\chi}'_{fc}(G)$, is the maximum number of colors such that an f-edge cover-coloring of G exists. Any simple graph G has an f-edge cover chromatic index equal to ${\delta}_f\;or\;{\delta}_f-1,\;where\;{\delta}_f{=}^{min}_{v{\in}V}\{\lfloor\frac{d(v)}{f(v)}\rfloor\}$. Let G be a connected and not complete graph with ${\chi}'_{fc}(G)={\delta}_f-1$, if for each $u,\;v{\in}V\;and\;e=uv{\nin}E$, we have ${\chi}'_{fc}(G+e)>{\chi}'_{fc}(G)$, then G is called an f-edge covered critical graph. In this paper, some properties on f-edge covered critical graph are discussed. It is proved that if G is an f-edge covered critical graph, then for each $u,\;v{\in}V\;and\;e=uv{\nin}E$ there exists $w{\in}\{u,v\}\;with\;d(w)\leq{\delta}_f(f(w)+1)-2$ such that w is adjacent to at least $d(w)-{\delta}_f+1$ vertices which are all ${\delta}_f-vertex$ in G.
Let ${\cal{L}}$ be a commutative subspace lattice on a Hilbert space ${\cal{H}}$ and X and Y be operators on ${\cal{H}}$. Let $${\cal{M}}_X=\{{\sum}{\limits_{i=1}^n}E_{i}Xf_{i}:n{\in}{\mathbb{N}},f_{i}{\in}{\cal{H}}\;and\;E_{i}{\in}{\cal{L}}\}$$ and $${\cal{M}}_Y=\{{\sum}{\limits_{i=1}^n}E_{i}Yf_{i}:n{\in}{\mathbb{N}},f_{i}{\in}{\cal{H}}\;and\;E_{i}{\in}{\cal{L}}\}.$$ Then the following are equivalent. (i) There is an operator A in $Alg{\cal{L}}$ such that AX = Y, Ag = 0 for all g in ${\overline{{\cal{M}}_X}}^{\bot},A^*A=AA^*$ and every E in ${\cal{L}}$ reduces A. (ii) ${\sup}\;\{K(E, f)\;:\;n\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{N}},f_i\;{\in}\;{\cal{H}}\;and\;E_i\;{\in}\;{\cal{L}}\}\;<\;\infty,\;{\overline{{\cal{M}}_Y}}\;{\subset}\;{\overline{{\cal{M}}_X}}$and there is an operator T acting on ${\cal{H}}$ such that ${\langle}EX\;f,Tg{\rangle}={\langle}EY\;f,Xg{\rangle}$ and ${\langle}ET\;f,Tg{\rangle}={\langle}EY\;f,Yg{\rangle}$ for all f, g in ${\cal{H}}$ and E in ${\cal{L}}$, where $K(E,\;f)\;=\;{\parallel}{\sum{\array}{n\\i=1}}\;E_{i}Y\;f_{i}{\parallel}/{\parallel}{\sum{\array}{n\\i=1}}\;E_{i}Xf_{i}{\parallel}$.
