Background: Impacts of exposure are generally monitored and recorded after injuries or illness occur. Yet, absence of conventional after-the-effect impacts (i.e., lagging indicators), tend to focus on physical health and injuries, and fail to inform if workers are not exposed to safety and health hazards. In contrast to lagging indicators, leading indicators are proactive, preventive, and predictive indexes that offer insights how effective safety and health. The present study is to validate an extended Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) that consists of six leading indicators. Methods: Questionnaires were distributed to 13 organizations (response rate = 93.1%, 1,439 responses) in Taiwan. Cronbach α, multiple linear regression and canonical correlation were used to test the reliability of the extended Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) which consists of six leading indicators (safe climate, transformational leadership, organizational justice, organizational support, hazard prevention and control, and training). Criteria-related validation strategy was applied to examine relationships of six leading indicators with six criteria (perceived health, burnout, depression, job satisfaction, job performance, and life satisfaction). Results: The results showed that the Cronbach's α of six leading indicators ranged from 0.87 to 0.92. The canonical correlation analysis indicated a positive correlation between the six leading indicators and criteria (1st canonical function: correlation = 0.647, square correlation = 0.419, p < 0.001). Conclusions: The present study validates the extended VPP framework that focuses on promoting safety and physical and mental health. Results further provides applications of the extended VPP framework to promote workers' safety and health.
Efforts to evaluate water pollution using indicator microorganisms have been underway for decades, and driven by research on water purity control applications, water quality criteria are growing more and more strict. Furthermore, recent reports indicate that high concentrations of antibiotics are not absorbed, and are present in excrement from animals and humans dosed with unnecessarily high levels of antibiotics. This has emerged as very important issue from the standpoint of being an ecological and health hazard. In this study, water pollution was analyzed through physicochemical and microbiological means, and antibiotic resistance in indicator microorganisms was assessed. In physicochemical analysis, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)$_5$ and chemical oxygen demand (COD)$_{Mn}$ evaluation showed that pollution by organisms was highest at the G1 location with a high human population, and the DP location which has many livestock-containing households. The indicator organism levels at the G1 location were: Total Coliforms (1205 colony forming units (CFU)/100 ml), Fecal Coliforms (270 CFU/100 ml), Escherichia coli (253 CFU/100 ml) and Fecal Streptococci (210 CFU/100 ml), while for the DP location levels were: Total Coliforms (1480 CFU/100 ml), Fecal Coliforms (438 CFU/100 ml), E. coli (560 CFU/100 ml), and Fecal Streptococci (348 CFU/100 ml). Levels of fecal indicator microorganisms such as Fecal Coliforms, E. coli and Fecal Streptococci were high at all locations in the fall (the period after the rainy season), and the yearly distribution was similar between these organisms. If the number of livestock-containing households was high, almost all strains of E. coli (as distinct from the other indicator organisms) showed resistance to antibiotics, with the degree of resistance varying between areas. E. coli strains from the OY area in particular, which has a high population density, showed strong resistance to AM10 and Va30. While strong antibiotic resistance was observed overall at the DP and OY locations, no resistance was observed at the EB location.
Physicians, in order to study the causes of cancer, detect cancer earlier, prevent or determine the effectiveness of treatment, and specify the reasons for the treatment ineffectiveness, need to access accurate, comprehensive, and timely cancer data. The cancer care environment has become more complex because of the need for coordination and communication among health care professionals with different skills in a variety of roles and the existence of large amounts of data with various formats. The goals of health care systems in such a complex environment are correct health data management, providing appropriate information needs of users to enhance the integrity and quality of health care, timely access to accurate information and reducing medical errors. These roles in new systems with use of agents efficiently perform well. Because of the potential capability of agent systems to solve complex and dynamic health problems, health care system, in order to gain full advantage of E- health, steps must be taken to make use of this technology. Multi-agent systems have effective roles in health service quality improvement especially in telemedicine, emergency situations and management of chronic diseases such as cancer. In the design and implementation of agent based systems, planning items such as information confidentiality and privacy, architecture, communication standards, ethical and legal aspects, identification opportunities and barriers should be considered. It should be noted that usage of agent systems only with a technical view is associated with many problems such as lack of user acceptance. The aim of this commentary is to survey applications, opportunities and barriers of this new artificial intelligence tool for cancer care information as an approach to improve cancer care management.
One of the core issues in the realization of e-government is the effective implementation of a website. The current trend of e-government is developing individual web sites and portals, covering such fields as education, tax, economics, real estate, travel, and health. Evaluating e-government web sites is essential for improving web sites. These principles can be included in usability in a broader concept. Website usability has attracted considerable research on website evaluation and has been regarded as one of the most important criteria for measuring and evaluating websites. Usable e-government web sites make citizens willing to search for helpful information or solve their civil applications. The objective of this paper is to suggest an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for evaluating e-government web sites. The proposed AHP method has two special characteristics compared to general AHP approaches. First, all citizens who are e-government users can evaluate both the usability criteria and the web sites, but the weighting mechanism differs between criteria and web sites. Secondly, a pairwise comparison is time-consuming and not cost effective with many criteria. Therefore for evaluating a website with respect to a sub-criterion, we develop checklist items as measure scales with a seven-point rating. This method is efficient as it enable us to avoid the pairwise comparison mechanism between sub-criteria. A new computation procedure for the AHP is developed that combines and synthesizes priorities of portals in the case that two decision maker groups are involved.
Food-Health indicators have been developed and utilized internationally in the 'Food' domain of environment and health indicators. In Korea, however, Food Safety Health Indicators which are in the introductory stage had been developed separately from Environmental Health Indicators. The aim of the current study is to suggest feasible applications of the domestic Food Safety Health Indicators as a case study. We introduced 3 possible applications which are as follows: 1) production of two types of Integrated Food Safety Health Index; 2) conduction of correlation analysis between the Integrated Food Safety Health Index and Food Safety Health Indicators; 3) conduction of regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between the Integrated Food Safety Health Index and socioeconomic status. As a result, we provided the calculated Integrated Food Safety Health Index I and Integrated Food Safety Health Index II, which represents the regional food safety level in relative and absolute terms, respectively. Integrated Food Safety Health Index I was significantly correlated with the outbreaks of food-borne diseases (caused by Campylobacter jejuni, Bacillus cereus, Salmonella spp. and unknown cause) and incidence of E.coli infections. Integrated Food Safety Health Index II significantly decreased as the proportion of foreigners and women increased, and increased as the population density increased. Utilization of such Integrated Food Safety Health Indicators may be helpful in understanding the overall domestic food safety level and identifying the indicators which must be considered with priorities to enhance the food safety levels regionally and domestically. Furthermore, analyzing the association between Integrated Food Safety Health Index and factors other than food safety could be useful in conducting risk management and identifying susceptible populations. Food Safety Health Indicators can be useful in other applications, and may serve as a supporting material in establishing or modifying policy plans to enhance food safety. Therefore, keen interests by researchers accompanied by further studies on food safety health indicators are needed.

The large number of long-span bridges constructed in China motivates the applications of structural health monitoring (SHM) technology. Many bridges have been equipped with sophisticated SHM systems in the mainland of China and in Hong Kong of China. Recently, SHM technology has been extended to field test systems. In this view, SHM can serve as a tool to develop the methods of life-cycle performance design, evaluation, maintenance and management of bridges; to develop new structural analysis methods through validation and feedback from SHM results; and to understand the behavior of bridges under natural and man-made disasters, rapidly assess the damage and loss of structures over large regions after disasters, e.g., earthquake, typhoon, flood, etc. It is hoped that combining analytical methods, numerical simulation, small-scale tests and accelerated durability tests with SHM could become the main engine driving the development of bridge engineering. This paper demonstrates the above viewpoint.

Cloud computing provides each consumer with a large-scale computing tool. Different Cyber Attacks can potentially target cloud computing systems, as most cloud computing systems offer services to many people who are not known to be trustworthy. Therefore, to protect that Virtual Machine from threats, a cloud computing system must incorporate some security monitoring framework. There is a tradeoff between the security level of the security system and the performance of the system in this scenario. If strong security is needed, then the service of stronger security using more rules or patterns is provided, since it needs much more computing resources. A new way of security system is introduced in this work in cloud environments to the VM on account of resources allocated to customers are ease. The main spike of Fog computing is part of the cloud server's work in the ongoing study tells the step-by-step cloud server to change the tremendous measurement of information because the endeavor apps are relocated to the cloud to keep the framework cost. The cloud server is devouring and changing a huge measure of information step by step to reduce complications. The Medical Data Health-Care (MDHC) records are stored in Cloud datacenters and Fog layer based on the guard intensity and the key is provoked for ingress the file. The monitoring center sustains the Activity Log, Risk Table, and Health Records. Cloud computing and Fog computing were combined in this paper to review data movement and safe information about MDHC.
Rapid and accurate detection of pathogenic bacteria is crucial for various applications, including public health and food safety. However, existing bacteria detection techniques have several drawbacks as they are inconvenient and require time-consuming procedures and complex machinery. Recently, the precision and versatility of CRISPR/Cas system has been leveraged to design biosensors that offer a more efficient and accurate approach to bacterial detection compared to the existing techniques. Significant research has been focused on developing biosensors based on the CRISPR/Cas system which has shown promise in efficiently detecting pathogenic bacteria or virus. In this review, we present a biosensor based on the CRISPR/Cas system that has been specifically developed to overcome these limitations and detect different pathogenic bacteria effectively including Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Salmonella, E. coli O157:H7, and Listeria monocytogenes. This biosensor takes advantage of the CRISPR/Cas system's precision and versatility for more efficiently accurately detecting bacteria compared to the previous techniques. The biosensor has potential to enhance public health and ensure food safety as the biosensor's design can revolutionize method of detecting pathogenic bacteria. It provides a rapid and reliable method for identifying harmful bacteria and it can aid in early intervention and preventive measures, mitigating the risk of bacterial outbreaks and their associated consequences. Further research and development in this area will lead to development of even more advanced biosensors capable of detecting an even broader range of bacterial pathogens, thereby significantly benefiting various industries and helping in safeguard human health

As a new business concept, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications are born from original telemetry technology with the intrinsic features of automatic data transmissions and measurement from remote sources typically by cable or radio. M2M includes a number of technologies that need to be combined in a compatible manner to enable its deployment over a broad market of consumer electronics. In order to provide better understanding for this emerging concept, the correlations among M2M, wireless sensor networks, cyber-physical systems (CPS), and internet of things are first analyzed in this paper. Then, the basic M2M architecture is introduced and the key elements of the architecture are presented. Furthermore, the progress of global M2M standardization is reviewed, and some representative applications (i.e., smart home, smart grid and health care) are given to show that the M2M technologies are gradually utilized to benefit people's life. Finally, a novel M2M system integrating intelligent road with unmanned vehicle is proposed in the form of CPS, and an example of cyber-transportation systems for improving road safety and efficiency are introduced.

The proposed technique uses cyclic frame structure, where three periods such as beacon period (BP), mesh contention access period (MCAP) and slotted period (SP) are in a data frame. This paper studies on a mechanism to allow communication nodes (6lowpan) in a PAN with different logical channel for global healthcare applications monitoring technology. The proposed super framework structure system has installed 6lowpan sensor nodes to communicate with each other. The basic idea is to time share logical channels to perform 6lowpan sensor node. The concept of 6lowpan sensor node and various biomedical sensors fixed on the patient BAN (Body Area Network) for monitoring health condition. In PAN (hospital area), has fixed gateways that received biomedical data from 6lowpan (patient). Each 6lowpan sensor node (patient) has IP-addresses that would be directly connected to the internet. With the help of IP-address service provider can recognize or analyze patient data from all over the globe by the internet service provider, with specific equipments i.e. cell phone, PDA, note book. The NS-2.33 result shows the performance of data transmission delay and data delivery ratio in the case of hop count in a PAN (Personal Area Networks).
