  • This Paper provides perceptual metrics for video quality based on properties of human visual system, and audio quality based on human audition. All metrics work without reference signals, allowing non-intrusive, in-service measurements. A simple and easy-to-learn user interface displays the metrics and saves them in popular file formats like CSV. In this paper, proposed method was able to various and corrective measurement for the multimedia service video quality. As that it was able to application to set up service guide line and the methode of measurement and system for the set up standardization of the high quality video service.

  • This paper strives to shed a light on current academic resource sharing initiatives, and seeks the measure for the cooperative information resource management. It first attempts to draw outcomes and suggestions on the basis of issues and implications identified through the analyses in the aspects of management, service, and infrastructure of academic resource sharing in other countries. For this job, research methods such as interviews and on/offline literature review are employed. Specific projects to be analyzed via literature and web site review, although not detailed in nature, are National Technical Information Service(NTIS) and The National Science Digital Library(NSDL) in the United States, Intute of United Kingdom, and Australian Research Repositories Online to the World(ARROW) of Australia. Next, the paper discusses such an issue as the orientation of national level academic resource sharing initiatives based on the comparison of characteristics of current academic resource sharing project. For this, a thorough comparison on background, outlines and characteristics of the projects and analysis on the specifics of each project were conducted as well.

  • We obtain $C^{\infty}$-continuous paths of explicit Riemannian metrics $g_t$, $0{\leq}t$ < ${\varepsilon}$, whose scalar curvatures $s(g_t)$ decrease, where $g_0$ is a flat metric, i.e. a metric with vanishing curvature. Most of them can exist on tori of dimension ${\geq}3$. Some of them yield scalar curvature decrease on a ball in the Euclidean space.

  • The present method of measuring QoE (Quality of Experience) was to measure the whole block from the server that provides service to the terminal that the client gets the service. In this way, it was possible to simply determine whether the quality of QoE was good or not, and when the quality of QoE became bad, there was no way of presenting solutions. Also, as QoE metrics are numerous, there has been no strict regulation on how to use. This study analyzed QoE metrics in the viewpoints of network and clients, subdivided the whole service into three phases including one from the server providing the service to the router, another from the router to the terminal getting the service, and the third from the service router to the client router, and presented QoE metric frames appropriate for each phase. Through this, in the KOREN-CERNET environment, this study designed and embodied QoE network and demonstrated stability of QoE network, reduction in client complaint settlement time, and content adjustment effect according to the network change.

  • This paper derives two main end-to-end performance metrics, namely the spatial capacity density and the average end-to-end delay of the multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks with multi-antenna communications. Based on the closed-form expressions of these performance metrics, three hopping strategies, i.e., the closest neighbor, the furthest neighbor and the randomly selected neighbor hopping strategies have been investigated. This formulation provides insights into the relations among node density, diversity gains, number of hops and some other network design parameters which jointly determine network performances, and a method of choosing the best hopping strategy which can be formulated from a network design perspective.

  • A variety of similarity metrics have been used to measure the degree of web page changes. In this paper, we first define criteria for web page changes to evaluate the effectiveness of the similarity metrics in terms of six important types of web page changes. Second, we propose a new similarity metric appropriate for measuring the degree of web page changes. Using real web pages and synthesized pages, we analyze the five existing metrics (i.e., the byte-wise comparison, the TF IDF cosine distance, the word distance, the edit distance, and the shingling) and ours under the proposed criteria. The analysis result shows that our metric represents the changes more effectively than other metrics. We expect that our study can help users select an appropriate metric for particular web applications.

  • Component-based software development (CBSD) has been recognized effective reuse techniques for software development by many of researchers and companies. The purpose of CBSD is to produce a high quality software system quickly through using verified software component which is contained fine-grained business logics. This paper suggests the metrics and techniques for to extract component and its interface from legacy object oriented application. For extract component, we apply metrics to measure complexity, cohesion and coupling to the legacy system.

  • The strain KIST612, initially identified as E. limosum, was a suspected member of E. callanderi due to differences in phenotype, genotype, and average nucleotide identity (ANI). Here, we found that E. limosum ATCC 8486T and KIST612 are genetically different in their central metabolic pathways, such as that of carbon metabolism. Although 16S rDNA sequencing of KIST612 revealed high identity with E. limosum ATCC 8486T (99.2%) and E. callanderi DSM 3662T (99.8%), phylogenetic analysis of housekeeping genes and genome metrics clearly indicated that KIST612 belongs to E. callanderi. The phylogenies showed that KIST612 is closer to E. callanderi DSM 3662T than to E. limosum ATCC 8486T. The ANI between KIST612 and E. callanderi DSM 3662T was 99.8%, which was above the species cut-off of 96%, Meanwhile, the ANI value with E. limosum ATCC 8486T was not significant, showing only 94.6%. The digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) results also supported the ANI values. The dDDH between KIST612 and E. callanderi DSM 3662T was 98.4%, whereas between KIST612 and E. limosum ATCC 8486T , it was 57.8%, which is lower than the species cut-off of 70%. Based on these findings, we propose the reclassification of E. limosum KIST612 as E. callanderi KIST612.

  • A recommender system covers users, searches the items or services which users will like, and let users purchase them. Because recommendations from a recommender system are predictions of users' preferences for the items which they do not purchase yet, it is rarely possible to be drawn a perfect answer. An evaluation has been conducted to determine whether a prediction is right or not. However, it can be lower user's satisfaction if a recommender system focuses on only the preferences, that is caused by a 'filter bubble effect'. The filter bubble effect is an algorithmic bias that skews or limits the information an individual user sees on the recommended list. It is the reason why multiple metrics are required to evaluate recommender systems, and a diversity metrics is mainly used for it. In this paper, we compare three different methods for enhancing diversity for personalized recommendation - bin packing, weighted random choice, greedy re-ranking - with a practical e-commerce data acquired from a fashion shopping mall. Besides, we present the difference between experimental results and F1 scores.
