The amount of incoming e-mails is increasing rapidly due to the wide usage of Internet. Therefore, it is more required to classify incoming e-mails efficiently and accurately. Currently, the e-mail classification techniques are focused on two way classification to filter spam mails from normal ones based mainly on Bayesian and Rule. The clustering method has been used for the multi-way classification of e-mails. But it has a disadvantage of low accuracy of classification. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-way e-mail classification method that uses PCA for automatic category generation and dynamic category hierarchy for high accuracy of classification. It classifies a huge amount of incoming e-mails automatically, efficiently, and accurately.

In this paper, we propose a new certified e-mail system which reduces user's computational overhead and distributes confidentiality of TTP(Trusted Third Partty). Based on the traditional cryptographic schemes and server-supported signiture for fairness and confidentiality of message, we intend to minimize to computation overhead of mobile device on public key algorithm. Therefore, our proposal becomes to be suitable for mail user sho uses mobile devices such as cellular phone and PDA. Moreover, the proposed system is fault-tolerant, secure against mobile adversary and conspiracy attack, since it is based on the threshold cryptography on server-side.

Despite young age, Internet, as new advertising media, is actively studied worldwide. In 1995, the department of multimedia-related study was first founded in Technical Institute and has carried out the On Internet banner, user is not an object to accept only a message but has a specification to contact with banner actively having various motivation and desire. Internet advertising has various types but banner and e-mail type advertising are main stream. In the view point of recognition and concern rate, banner is very effective because it does not set limit to specific target, but is shown to unspecific audience. Acceding to studies, usage frequency and effect of e-mail type advertising is growing up. And e-mail type advertising is more active because it can target specific audience with various life style. If we can say banner is not so effective in spite of simply good exposure frequency, we can find theoritical background that e-mail type advertising is more effective internet advertising media because high click frequency. And we suppose that this study can be a guide line for measuring process of Internet advertising effect.

Effective nutrition educations for prevention of chronic diseases for the general population are of great importance these days. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of nutrition education for cardiovascular risk factor reduction by e-mail education in male workers. The participants were divided into three groups by age; 28-39 age group, 40-49 age group, and 50-59 age group who got regular checkups for anthropometry and biochemistry. The 1 year program consisted of 15 topics containing information about metabolic syndrome (MS) and healthy eating behavior (intake of salt, fat and alcohol). Seven hundred thirty nine participants volunteered for the study [28-39 age group, n = 240; body mass index (BMI) = 24.9 $\pm$ 2.7 kg/m$^2$: 40' group, n = 276; BMI = 24.8 $\pm$ 2.6 kg/m$^2$: 50' group, n = 223; BMI = 24.9 $\pm$ 2.7 kg/m$^2$]. Percentage body fat (p < 0.05) and percentage of abdominal fat (p < 0.05), total cholesterol (p < 0.05), systolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), and diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05) were significantly decreased in all participants after the 1 year program. The total number of participants who had MS was decreased from 216 to 199 and especially the incidence of MS was decreased 27% in the group of subjects who were under the age 39. The e-mail worksite nutrition education program shows a substantial contribution to the development of effective CVD and chronic disease control and lifestyle nutrition educations that are applicable to and attractive for the large population at risk.

Web-mail system is worthy of note as a next generation e-mail system for its mobility and easiness. But many web-mail system does not have any kind of security mechanism. Even if web-mail system provides security services, its degree of strength is too low. Using these web-mail systems, the e-mail is tabbed, modified or forged by attacker easily. To solve these problems, we design and implement secure web-mail system based on the international e-mail security standard S/MIME in this thesis. This secure web-mail system is composed of server system and client system The server system performs basic mail functions - sending/receiving the mails, storing the mails, and management of user information, etc. And the client system performs cryptographic functions - encryption/decryption of the mails, digital signing and validation, etc. Because client system performs cryptographic functions this secure web-mail system gives its reliability and safety, and provides end-to-end security between mail users. Also, this secure web-mail system increase system efficiency by minimize server load.

WWW(Word Wide Web)은 인터넷 상에서 광범위하게 분산된 다양한 형식의 데이터를 손쉽게 검색할 수 있도록 하며, 모든 응용의 사용자 환경을 손쉽게 포함시킴으로서 새로운 미디어 타입의 통합을 위한 가장 성공적인 기술로 평가받고 있다. E-Mail 서비스는 WWW 시스템의 가장 기본적인 기능으로, 인터넷 기술이 발전하고 사용자가 기하급수적으로 증가함에 따라 E-Mail 사용자도 늘고있다. 그러나 기존의 서비스는 HTML의 텍스트 기반 구조를 통한 비동기적인 형태의 서비스를 계속 유지하고 있어, 최근 인터넷상의 상당수를 차지하는 오디오, 비디오와 같은 실시간 환경의 멀티미디어 데이터들을 통합하는 좀더 동기적인 표현방법이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 E-Mail 서비스에 대한 동기적 방법론을 제안하고 구현하고자 한다.

The Internet e-mail security software and standards, such as PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) and PEM (Privacy Enhanced Mail), have several limitations that should be overcome for their further applications to the Internet and network environments. In order to improve and reengineer those software, details of the As-Is software processing should be analyzed. One of the possible techniques for software analysis is IDEFO function modeling. Although IDEFO has been mainly used for BPR as one of the industrial engineering techniques, it has been rarely applied to the analysis of software processing and reengineering in computer and software engineering fields. Additionally, no sufficient details of PGP and PEM processing are analyzed in the literature. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the application of the IDEFO to the systems analysis of the Internet e-mail security software as well as to provide software developers with the basis for software improvements.

WWW(World Wide Web)은 인터넷상에 광범위하게 분산된 다양한 형식의 데이터를 손쉽게 검색할 수 있도록 하며, 모든 응용의 사용자 환경을 손쉽게 포함시킴으로써 새로운 미디어 타입의 통합을 위한 가장 성공적인 기술로 평가받고 있다. 처음 Tim Berners-Lee에 의해 처음 개발될 당시 WWW는 텍스트 기반의 구조에 맞추어 비동기적인 형태의 검색과 상호작용을 지원하도록 설계되었다. 반면 최근 인터넷상의 상당수를 차지하는 오디오, 비디오와 같은 실시간 환경의 멀티미디어 데이터들은 연속적, 동기적이며, 대화형 특징을 포함하고 있어 WWW에서 이러한 미디어들을 통합하기 위해서는 구조적인 확장이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 현재 가장 많이 쓰이는 WWW 기능인 e-Mail 서비스에 대한 동기적 방법론을 제안하고자 한다. e-Mail 사용자가 HTML tag에 대한 사전 지식이 없이도 사전을 기반으로 e-Mail의 형식을 지정할 수 있도록 하며 이렇게 함으로써 보다 동기적인 형태의 서비스를 구현하도록 한다.

In E-mail based accounting system, the remitter does not have need to find collector's account number. To transfer money to a collector's account, what remitter need is just a collector's E-mail address. But the current E-mail based accounting systems are built on SSL technology. Basically SSL provides some security services - confidentiality, user authentication and data integrity, but does not provide non-repudiation. So, in the current E-mail based accounting system, it is possible to deny transaction. And there is no receipt of transaction. In this paper, we design and implementation of a S/MIME applied Secure Payment Mechanism. In our system, every account information - account number, receiver name, amount of money, etc. - is included in a 'check' message. And this message is protected under the Secure Web-mail using S/MIME. In a view point of the convenience, users using our system do not have need to find collector's account number. And in a view point of the security, our system provides confidentiality, user authentication, data integrity and non-repudiation. Moreover our system provides a receipt.
