This paper investigated a gate driver circuit with amorphous silicon for mobile TFT-LCD. In the conventional circuit, the fluctuation of the off-state voltage causes the fluctuation of gate line voltages in the panel and then image quality becomes worse. Newly designed gate driver circuit with dynamic switching inverter and carry out signal reduce the fluctuation of the off-state voltage because dynamic switching inverter is holding the off-state voltage and the delay of carry signal is reduced. The simulation results show that the proposed a-Si:H gate driver has low noise and high stability compared with the conventional one.
As one of the Principal modalities of human sensation, tactile feel is prerequisite for building wide variety of applications such as telemanipulation, virtual reality and medical engineering. A dynamic Braille display device based on a polymer actuator is presented. The actuator, often called artificial muscle actuator has advantageous features over the existing methods in terms of intrinsic softness, ease of fabrication, cost-effectiveness and miniaturization. The principles of actuation with dielectric elastomer is introduced, and necessary considerations on the design of a tactile display device are discussed. The design of the device is described in detail including the fabrication process and driving electronics. Also, preliminary results of experiments are given to evaluate its performance.
This paper proposes dynamic viewing-zone switching for a binocular holographic three-dimensional display with low interpupil crosstalk and an extended eye-motion box. The optimal pupil geometry for reducing interpupil crosstalk is designed. It is shown that the eye-motion box can be extended by exploiting signal replication in the higher-order viewing zone. Design principles and numerical simulations for verification of the binocular holographic head-up display are presented.
In this paper, we propose a tone mapping method using Non-linear Dynamic Range Normalization (NDRN) for High Dynamic Range (HDR) images. HDR images are not suitable for commercial display devices because dynamic range of HDR images do not match with one of Low Dynamic Range (LDR) display devices. To reproduce a tone of HDR images for LDR displays, tone mapping methods have been proposed such as local and global tone mapping. We introduce NDRN to locate mean of HDR images at the center of LDR. NDRN preserves the details for highlight and shadow. By suppressing the significant luminance change in tone mapping, naturalness of original image can be also preserved. The experimental results show that the proposed method preserves details and naturalness of original images.
In the design stage of high precision manufacturing/inspection FAB facilities, it is necessary to investigate the allowable vibration limits of high precision equipments and to study structural dynamic characteristics of C/R and Sub-structure in order to provide structural vibration criteria to satisfy these allowable limits. The goal of this study is to investigate the dynamic characteristics of PC-Type mock-up structures designed for next generation TFT-LCD FAB through experiments and analysis procedures. Therefore, in order to provide a proper dynamic structural design for high precision manufacturing/inspection work process, these allowable limits must be satisfied.
This study developed a high-temperature, high-pressure dynamic pressure sensor using LGT(lanthanum gallium tantalate). The sensitivity of the fabricated dynamic pressure sensor was 2.1 mV/kPa and its nonlinearity was 2.5%FS. We confirmed that the high-temperature dynamic pressure sensor operated stably in high-temperature environment at $500^{\circ}C$. The developed dynamic pressure sensor using LGT is expected to be applicable not only to gas turbines but also in various industrial areas in duding airplanes and power stations.

A variety of power reduction technologies is introduced and the benefits of the technologies are discussed. PenTile$^{(R)}$ DBLC (Dynamic Brightness LED Control) combined with SABC (Sensor-Based Adaptive Brightness Control) enables to achieve the average LED power consumption to one third. The panel power reduction of 25% can be achieved with low power driving technology, ALS (Active Level Shifter). MIP (Memory In Pixel) is expected to be useful in transflective display because the whole display area can be utilized in reflective mode with power consumption of 1mW.
In this paper, we report relatively simple equalizing pulse method for reducing dynamic false contour in PDP. Calculation cost is reduced by limiting pixels to add equalizing pulse and using look-up-table(LUT) for given subfield pattern. Pixels to be modified are determined after comparing selected number of most significant bits(MSB) with those of adjacent pixels. The equalizing pulse amount is determined by consulting LUT, which is for a fixed velocity of 1 pixel/tv field. Even though the suggested scheme does not cover every luminance combination of neighboring pixels, it is expected to work well after appropriate modifications are made according to the velocity.

So far, monostable and bistable LCD modes have independently been researched and developed. We introduce a novel liquid crystal display device that and be operated ad memory mode ad well ad dynamic mode. This device has a unique texture of splay, ${\pi}$ twist and bend states with applied voltages and is operated as a memory mode or dynamic mode by selective switching of two states among them. We also demonstrate electro-optical characteristics of the transmissive dual mode.

The authors propose a novel dual mode liquid crystal display (LCD) which has both dynamic and memory operating LCD modes. The mode uses a horizontal switching and bistable chiral splay nematic (BCSN) LCD. The proposed dual mode does not require pixeldivision and has a higher aperture ratio and resolution than the previously proposed dual mode. Experimental results of the memory and dynamic mode show a high contrast ratio of over 100:1.
