In this study, the static and dynamic components of cutting resistance were measured with tool dynamometer (Swiss, pieso-electric type) when S45C, A1-alloy and brass were drilled under the some variable conditions. The results obtained are as follows; 1) The dynamic components of these cutting resistance are not related to the depth of drilled hole. 2) The static and dynamic components of cutting resistance are increased in accordance with the increase of feed and drill diameter. 3) The dynamic components of thrust force are increased in accordance with the increase of spindle speed. 4) The rate of the dynamic component to the static component is 0.3 .approx. 0.5 in torque, 0.1 .approx. 0.2 in thrust force. 5) The characteristic of the tool system is affected in dynamic component of cutting resistance, and the creasted frequency and amplitude of the chip are determined by the crilled materials. 6) The maximum amplitude of the dynamic component is increased proportionally in accordance with the feed rate and the spindle speed.
Here we consider the evaluation of the the dynamic component of the second order force due to wave diffraction by a circular cylinder analytically and numerically. The cylinder is fixed, vertical, surface piercing in water of finite uniform depth. The formulation of the wave-structure interaction is based on the assumption of a homogeneous, ideal, incompressible, and inviscid fluid. The nonlinearity in the wave-structure interaction problem arises from the free surface boundary conditions, namely, dynamic and kinematic free surface boundary conditions. We expand the velocity potential and free surface elevation functions in terms of a small parameter and then consider the second order diffraction problem. After deriving the pressure using Bernoulli's equation, we obtain the analytical expression for the dynamic component of the second order force on the cylinder by integrating the pressure over the wetted surface. The computation of the dynamic force component requires only the first order velocity potential. Numerical results for the dynamic force component are presented.

In this paper, we propose an adaptive histogram projection technique for dynamic range compression and an efficient detail enhancement method which is enhancing strong edge while reducing noise. First, The high dynamic range image is divided into low-pass component and high-pass component by applying 'guided image filtering'. After applying 'guided filter' to high dynamic range image, second, the low-pass component of the image is compressed into 8-bit with the adaptive histogram projection technique which is using global standard deviation value of whole image. Third, the high-pass component of the image adaptively reduces noise and intensifies the strong edges using standard deviation value in local path of the guided filter. Lastly, the monitor display image is summed up with the compressed low-pass component and the edge-intensified high-pass component. At the end of this paper, the experimental result show that the suggested technique can be applied properly to the IR images of various scenes.

This study was carried out to investigate the characteristic of dynamic component in drilling. Materials used were carbon steel, brass and cast iron, and the drills used were high speed steel drill and cemented carbide. The cutting resistance generated in drilling was detected with the aid of piez0-electric tool dynamometer which has an excellent frequency response, and then the magnitude and shape of dynamic component and its frequency component as well were analyuzed. After a thorough study of interrelationship, the obtained results are as follows; 1) The shape of torque and thrust of the early drilling are different. 2) The shapes of dynamic component can be classified into four kinds. 3) Torque is related to frequency more closely than thrust. 4) As cutting speed increased, dynamic component increased. 5) Chipping took place continuously, and its size decreased as cutting proceeded.
In this paper, to identify the dynamic characteristics of antenna system, the antenna is divided into 4 components and those were analyzed with a conventional FEM package MSC/NASTRAN. Using a Component Mode Synthesis Method, dynamic characteristics of total system is also identified. The Coherence of each component to total system is evaluated by using strain and kinetic component to total system is evaluated by using strain and kinetic energy. The improving strategy of dynamic characteristics is suggested by changing mass and stiffness of large coherence components.

The method of substructure synthesis o. component mode synthesis(CMS) provides an effective means of dynamic analysis of very large and/or complex structures. In this study, residual dynamic flexibility attachment modes in hybrid component mode synthesis are considered for the purpose of exactly compensating the effect of higher order truncated modes. Following this way, the analysis accuracy of the synthesized structure can be improved effectively with less computational effort. In order to show the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed hybrid component mode synthesis(HCMS), numerical experiments were carried out for the models of a clamped-clamped beam. The results verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Generally, in case the natural frequency of vehicle components is larger than the reversing frequency of load history, we can obtain the analysis results with small errors. But in case of having the low natural frequency, we must avoidably carry out the dynamic analysis, and it requires much time and storage. Specially executing the fatigue analysis for vehicle components requires more time. To this end, it is not easy that we accomplish the optimization considering fatigue for the vehicle component based on the dynamic analysis. In this research we introduce an efficient method which performs the fatigue analysis based on the dynamic analysis. Finally as making the response surface we optimize the vehicle component under dynamic fatigue.

The on-line detection of the chip flow is one of the most important technologies in com- pletly automatic operation of machine tool, such as FMS and Unmanned Factories. This problem has been studied by many researchers, however, it is not solved as yet. For the recognition of chip flow in this study, the dynamic cutting force components due to the chip breaking were measured by dynamometer of piezo-electric type, and the frequency components of cutting force were also analyzed. From the measured results, the effect of cutting conditions and tool geometry on the dynamic cutting force component and chip formation were investigated in addition to the relationships between frequency of chip breaking (fB) and side serrated crack (fC) of chip. As a result, the following conclusions were obtaianed. 1) The chip formations have a large effect on the dynamic cutting force components. When chip breaking takes place, the dynamic cutting force component greatly increases, and the peridoic components appear, which correspond to maximum peak- frequency. 2) The crater wear of tool has a good effect on the chip control causing the chiup to be formed as upward-curl shape. In this case, the dymamic cutting force component greatly increases also 3) fB and fC of chip are closely corelated, and fC of chips has a large effect on the change of the situation of chip flow and dynamic cutting force component. 4) Under wide cutting conditions, the limit value (1.0 kgf) of dynamic cutting force component exists between the broken and continuous chips. Accordingly, this value is suitable for recognition of chip flow in on-line control of the cutting process.
The quasi-static component of the moving vehicle-induced dynamic response is promising in damage detection as it is sensitive to bridge damage but insensitive to environmental changes. However, accurate extraction of quasi-static component from the dynamic response is challenging especially when the vehicle velocity is high. This paper proposes an adaptive quasi-static component extraction method based on the modified variational mode decomposition (VMD) algorithm. Firstly the analytical solutions of the frequency components caused by road surface roughness, high-frequency dynamic components controlled by bridge natural frequency and quasi-static components in the vehicle-induced bridge response are derived. Then a modified VMD algorithm based on particle swarm algorithm (PSO) and mutual information entropy (MIE) criterion is proposed to adaptively extract the quasi-static components from the vehicle-induced bridge dynamic response. Numerical simulations and real bridge tests are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed extraction method. The results indicate that the improved VMD algorithm could extract the quasi-static component of the vehicle-induced bridge dynamic response with high accuracy in the presence of the road surface roughness and measurement noise.

The main concern of numerical dynamic analysis of large structures is to find an acceptable solution with fewer mode shapes and less computational efforts. component mode method utilizes substructure technique to reduce the degrss of freedom but have a disadvantage to not consider the dynamic characteristics of loads. Ritz Vector method consider the load characteristics but requires many integrations and errors are accumulated. In this study, to prove the effectiveness of component mode method, Lanczos algorithm are introduced. To prove the effectiveness of this method, example structures areanalyzed and the results are compared with SAP90.
