다중 채널 동적 객체 정보 추정을 통한 특징점 기반 Visual SLAM (A New Feature-Based Visual SLAM Using Multi-Channel Dynamic Object Estimation)

  • An indirect visual SLAM takes raw image data and exploits geometric information such as key-points and line edges. Due to various environmental changes, SLAM performance may decrease. The main problem is caused by dynamic objects especially in highly crowded environments. In this paper, we propose a robust feature-based visual SLAM, building on ORB-SLAM, via multi-channel dynamic objects estimation. An optical flow and deep learning-based object detection algorithm each estimate different types of dynamic object information. Proposed method incorporates two dynamic object information and creates multi-channel dynamic masks. In this method, information on actually moving dynamic objects and potential dynamic objects can be obtained. Finally, dynamic objects included in the masks are removed in feature extraction part. As a results, proposed method can obtain more precise camera poses. The superiority of our ORB-SLAM was verified to compared with conventional ORB-SLAM by the experiment using KITTI odometry dataset.

DEESR: Dynamic Energy Efficient and Secure Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks in Urban Environments

  • The interconnection of mobile devices in urban environments can open up a lot of vistas for collaboration and content-based services. This will require setting up of a network in an urban environment which not only provides the necessary services to the user but also ensures that the network is secure and energy efficient. In this paper, we propose a secure, energy efficient dynamic routing protocol for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks in urban environments. A decision is made by every node based on various parameters like longevity, distance, battery power which measure the node and link quality to decide the next hop in the route. This ensures that the total load is distributed evenly while conserving the energy of battery-constrained nodes. The protocol also maintains a trusted population for each node through Dynamic Trust Factor (DTF) which ensures secure communication in the environment by gradually isolating the malicious nodes. The results obtained show that the proposed protocol when compared with another energy efficient protocol (MMBCR) and a widely accepted protocol (DSR) gives far better results in terms of energy efficiency. Similarly, it also outdoes a secure protocol (QDV) when it comes to detecting malicious nodes in the network.

  • 최근 웹 기반의 적응적 스트리밍 서비스인 DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)가 주목 받고 있다. 그러나 기존 DASH 환경에서 네트워크와 버퍼 기반의 품질 조절 기법은 콘텐츠의 VBR (Variable Bit Rate) 특성을 고려하지 않아 세그먼트 처리량의 변화가 크며 이로 인해 잦은 품질 변화, 영상의 끊김과 같은 사용자 체감품질이 저하되는 문제점을 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 DASH 환경에서 사용자 체감품질을 향상시키기 위해 C-DASH (Content Characteristics based Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) 기법을 제안한다. C-DASH 기법은 세그먼트의 처리량과 버퍼 상태, 그리고 콘텐츠의 세그먼트 크기를 고려하여 끊김 없고 비디오 품질 변화가 적은 품질 조절을 수행한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안한 기법이 기존 품질 조절 기법들에 비해 사용자 체감품질을 향상시킴을 확인하였다.

  • Manufacturing environments in the real world are subject to many sources of change and uncertainty, such as new job releases, job cancellations, a chance in the processing time or start time of some operation. Thus, the realistic scheduling method should Properly reflect these dynamic environment. Based on the release times of jobs, JSSP (Job Shoe Scheduling Problem) can be classified as static and dynamic scheduling problem. In this research, we mainly consider the dynamic JSSP with continually arriving jobs. The goal of this research is to develop an efficient scheduling method based on GA (Genetic Algorithm) to address dynamic JSSP. we designed scheduling method based on SGA (Sing1e Genetic Algorithm) and PGA (Parallel Genetic Algorithm) The scheduling method based on GA is extended to address dynamic JSSP. Then, This algorithms are tested for scheduling and rescheduling in dynamic JSSP. The results is compared with dispatching rule. In comparison to dispatching rule, the GA approach produces better scheduling performance.

Hygrothermal effects on dynamic instability of a laminated plate under an arbitrary pulsating load

  • This paper studies the static and dynamic characteristics of composite plates subjected to an arbitrary periodic load in hygrothermal environments. The material properties of composite plates are depended on the temperature and moisture. The governing equations of motion of Mathieu-type are established by using the Galerkin method with reduced eigenfunction transforms. A periodic load is taken to be a combination of axial pulsating load and bending stress in the example problem. The regions of dynamic instability of laminated composite plates are determined by solving the eigenvalue problems based on Bolotin's method. The effects of temperature rise and moisture concentration on the dynamic instability of laminated composite plates are investigated and discussed. The influences of various parameters on the instability region and dynamic instability index are also investigated. The numerical results reveal that the influences of hygrothermal effect on the dynamic instability of laminated plates are significant.

  • This paper studies the dynamic instability of laminated composite plates under thermal and arbitrary in-plane periodic loads using first-order shear deformation plate theory. The governing partial differential equations of motion are established by a perturbation technique. Then, the Galerkin method is applied to reduce the partial differential equations to ordinary differential equations. Based on Bolotin's method, the system equations of Mathieu-type are formulated and used to determine dynamic instability regions of laminated plates in the thermal environment. The effects of temperature, layer number, modulus ratio and load parameters on the dynamic instability of laminated plates are investigated. The results reveal that static and dynamic load, layer number, modulus ratio and uniform temperature rise have a significant influence on the thermal dynamic behavior of laminated plates.

Component dynamics in miscible polymer blends: A review of recent findings

  • Miscible polymer blends still have heterogeneity in their component chain concentration in the segmental length scale because of the chain connectivity (that results in the self-concentration of the segments of respective chains) as well as the dynamic fluctuation over various length scales. As a result, the blend components feel different dynamic environments to exhibit different temperature dependence in their segmental relaxation rates. This type of dynamic heterogeneity often results in a broad glass transition (sometimes seen as two separate transitions), a broad distribution of the local (segmental) relaxation modes, and the thermo-rheological complexity of this distribution. Furthermore, the dynamic heterogeneity also affects the global dynamics in the miscible blends if the component chains therein have a large dynamic asymmetry. Thus, the superficially simple miscible blends exhibit interesting dynamic behavior. This article gives a brief summary of the features of the segmental and global dynamics in those blends.

  • The purpose of this study is to describe how dynamic geometry systems can be useful in proof activity; teaching sequences based on the use of dynamic geometry systems and to analyze the possible roles of dynamic geometry systems in both teaching and learning of proof. And also dynamic geometry environments can generate powerful interplay between empirical explorations and formal proofs. The point of this study was to show that how using dynamic geometry software can provide an opportunity to link between empirical and deductive reasoning, and how such software can be utilized to gain insight into a deductive argument.

  • 저 사양 HMD(Head Mounted Display)를 사용하는 가상 환경 네비게이션 시스템은 true-color 이미지를 제한 된 색으로 표현 할 때 이미지를 양자화 해야 한다. 그러한 시스템은 고정된 팔래트를 이용하여 전체적으로 이미지를 양자화하고 사용자에게 주로 이미지의 일부분(시선영역)을 보여준다. 인간의 눈은 시선영역의 색변화에 민감하고 HMD를 통해 이미지의 일부분만을 보기 때문에 시선영역의 색 만을 고려하여 동적으로 팔래트를 생성하고 이을 이용하여 이미지를 양자화 한다면 사용자는 가상 환경을 보다 생동감 있게 느낄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 가상환경을 보다 생동감 있게 느끼게 하기 위한 동적 팔래트의 생성속도 개서 방안을 제안하고 제안 방법을 이용하여 가상환경 네비게이션 시스템을 구성하였다. 네비게이션 시스템은 사용자의 시선영역이 변할 때 마다 팔래트를 생성하고 이미지를 양자화 하여 HMD를 통해 사용자에게 양자화된 이미지를 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 제안 방법을 이용한 시스템의 선호도를 조사 하였으며 대부분의 사용자가 제안 방법을 이용한 시스템을 선호 하였다.

GSP를 활용한 역동적 기하 환경에서 기하적 성질의 추측 (A Study on Students' Conjecturing of Geometric Properties in Dynamic Geometry Environments Using GSP)

  • 본 논문에서는 GSP(The Geometer's Sketchpad)를 이용한 역동적 기하 환경이 학생의 기하학적 성질의 추측에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 좀 더 구체적으로 살피면, GSP 환경에서 학생들은 문제 상황에서 주어지지 않은 새로운 조건들을 생성하고 그 조건하에서 성질을 추측하는 활동이 활발하고, 문제의 조건이 너무 적은 개방적인 문제 상황에서는 추측 활동이 미약하였다. 또한 GSP 환경에서 추측한 성질은 지필환경에서 추측한 성질보다 복잡하였고 증명하기 어려웠으며 GSP의 다양한 기능 중 'Alt' 키를 이용하여 화면을 이동시킬 수 있는 기능은 측정과 계산 기능 등 과 같이 기하적 성질의 추측에 요긴하게 사용되었다. 또한 학생들은 기하적 성질을 증명할 때보다 스스로 기하적 성질을 발견하였을 때 더 자부심을 갖게 되며 더 기쁘게 생각하였다.
