In this paper, it is investigated the characteristics of DSSC(Dye Sensitized Solar Cell) with cell area(0.25, 1, 2.25 $cm^2$) and dye absorption time(12, 24, 36 h). Thus, we obtain the following results by using the EIS, UV-VIS, I-V measurement. When the cell area increases, the efficiency decreases to 21~32 percent because of the increase about 40~$60{\Omega}$ of internal impedance regardless of dye absorption time. When the absorption time increases up to 24 hours, the efficiency increases to over 40 percent cause of the reduction of internal impedance regardless of cell area. When the dye absorption time becomes 36 hours, the internal impedance increases and at the same time, in the range of 600~700 nm, as the optical absorption reduces. Therefore, the efficiency decreases to 19~31 percent. When it is absorbed the dye for 24 hours in the smallest cell area which is 0.25 $cm^2$, the DSSC has the best efficiency (7.11 %).
In order to produce black disperse dye which has high heat resistance and depth color for polyester(PET), an orange disperse dye was designed and synthesized with pyridine based derivatives to get high heat resistance. Disperse blue dye adopts heterocycles structure for high molar extinction coefficient and long wavelength absorption. Synthesized disperse dye is micronized to an particle size of $0.7{\mu}m$. The mixing condition for black color using commercial disperse violet 93 is blue dye 30%, red dye 21%, and orange dye 21%, respectively. Dyed PET fabric with synthesized dye has quiet good color fastness to sublimation(grade 3-4) and has excellent rubbing, washing and light fastness grade 4-5.
To investigate dyeing behaviors in accordance with dye structure in cold pad batch dyeing of cotton knit, monochlorotriazine-vinylsulfone bifunctional dyes and monofluorotriazine-vinylsulfone bifunctional dyes were prepared. The spectral property and solubility of the dyes were tested and compared with the imported dyes. In addition, exhaustion behaviors of individual and mixed dye solutions were measured to examine the influence of dye structure on dyeing behavior in cold pad batch dyeing. The substantivity, fixation, migration index and half dyeing time were also calculated for further analysis of dyeing behavior of the prepared dyes. As a result, both dyes exhibited the superior solubilities and satisfactory light absorption properties. Also, monofluorotriazine-vinylsulfone bifunctional dyes showed moderate sensitivity to alkalinity and proper kinetic index values compared with the monochlorotriazine-vinylsulfone bifunctional dyes and the imported dyes. The results indicated monofluorotriazine-vinylsulfone bifunctional structure of the dye is suitable for cold pad batch dyeing.
Dyeing and color fastness properties of a reactive disperse dye containing an acetoxyethylsulphone group on PET, Nylon, silk and N/P fabrics were examined. The reactive disperse dye exhibited almost the same dyeing properties on PET fabric as a conventional disperse dye except the level of dye uptake. The most appropriate pH and dyeing temperature for the dyeing of Nylon fabric were 7 and $100^{\circ}C$ respectively. The build-up on Nylon fabric was good and various color fastnesses were good to excellent due to the formation of the covalent bond. Application of the reactive disperse dye on silk fabric at pH 9 and $80^{\circ}C$ yielded optimum color strength. The rate of dyeing on Nylon fabric was faster than that on PET fabric when both fabrics were dyed simultaneously in a dye bath, accordingly color strength of the dyed Nylon was higher. The reactive disperse dye can be applied for one-step and one-bath dyeing of N/P mixture fabric with good color fastness.
In this study, e-beam equipment was used to form silver nanoparticles on thin films of $TiO_2$ to increase the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells and improve the annealing process. $TiO_2$ thin films with nanoparticle photoelectrodes were fabricated in individual units for use in dye-sensitized solar cells. The characteristics of dye-sensitized solar cells were compared to those of the prepared $TiO_2$ photoelectrode with and without nanoparticles. The dye-sensitized solar cells with silver nanoparticles showed a significant increase in the electric current density compared with the pure $TiO_2$ dye-sensitized solar cell and improved the solar conversion efficiency to 27.89%. The increased density of electric current increased the extent of light absorption of the dye owing to the plasmon resonance of the nanoparticles at the local surfaces. This phenomenon led to increased light scattering, which in turn increased the current density of the dye-sensitized solar cells and improved the solar conversion efficiency.
This study comparatively analyzed hair bleaching and degree of damage by the temperature of a heating tool after coloring hair with a permanent, semi-permanent or plant hair dye. According to analysis by spectrophotometer, 'semi-permanent hair dye' was the highest, followed by 'permanent hair dye' and 'plant hair dye' in terms of changes in $L^*$ values. In terms of changes in hair shape when analyzed using FE-SEM, 'semi-permanent hair dye($150^{\circ}C$ or lower)' was the greatest, followed by 'plant hair dye($180^{\circ}C$ or lower)' and 'permanent hair dye($200^{\circ}C$ or lower)'. Therefore, it is reasonable to flat iron hair at low temperature. According to the test, amino acid values gradually decreased in both bleached and colored hair. The results obtained through TGA-based thermal analysis confirmed that as brightness increases, hair moisture contents decrease. This study aimed to protect hair by suggesting a correct use of a flat iron by the hair dye type during hair coloring. It appears that the study results would help hairdressers minimize hair damage by using a hair dye at proper temperature.
In this study, the removal of MB from saline solutions was evaluated by two methods by adsorption and electrodialysis; the adsorption of the mixture dye/salt on dried orange peel waste (OPW) was studied in batch method. In this study the biosorption of cationic dye by OPW was investigated as a function of initial solution pH, and initial salt (sodium chloride) concentration. The maximal dye uptake at $pH{\geq}3.6$ in the absence and in the presence of salt and the dye uptake diminished considerably in the presence of increasing concentrations of salt up to 8 g/L. The Redlich Peterson and Langmuir were the most suitable adsorption models for describing the biosorption equilibrium data of the dye both individually and in salt containing medium. As well, this work deals with the electrodialysis application to remove the dye. Synthetic solutions were used for the investigation of the main operational factors affecting the treatment performance; such as applied voltage, pH, initial dye concentration and ionic strength. The experimental results for adsorption and electrodialysis confirmed the importance of electrostatic interactions on the dye. The electrodialysis process with standard ion exchange membranes enabled efficient desalination of cationic dye solutions; there are two main factors in fouling: electrostatic interaction between cations of dyes and the fixed charged groups of the CEM, and affinity interactions.
Established microleakage tests have their own disadvantages. In this study, 3D reconstruction method was tried to overcome these disadvantages. Four types of microleakage tests were used and relationships among them were estimated: penetrated dye volume: marginal adaptability: degree of dye penetration and relative penetrated length to cavity wall. Twenty-four Class V cavities were bulk filled with composite (Esthet X) following surface treatments: N group (no treatment): E group (etching only): T group (etching + Prime & Bond NT). 50% silver nitrate was used as a dye solution after thermocycling ($5^{\circ}C{\;}&{\;}55^{\circ}C$, 1.000 times). Teeth were serially ground with a thickness of 0.2 mm. Volume of dye penetration was estimated from a three-dimensionally reconstructed image with a software (3D-DOCTOR). Percentage of margin without gap was estimated from SEM and degree of dye penetration and the relative length of dye penetration to overall cavity wall were also estimated. ANOVA and Scheffe test for dye volume, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test for marginal quality, Spearman's rho test for checking of relationships among methods were used. The results were as follows: 1. Dye penetration could be seen from several directions, furthermore, its volumetric estimation was possible. 2. Reverse relationship was found between dye volume and marginal quality (r = -0.881/ p = 0.004). 3. Very low relationship was seen between dye volume and two-dimensional tests (degree of dye penetration and relative length). However, 2D evaluation methods showed high relationship (p = 0.002-0.054) each other. 4. Three times vertical section could be recommended as a 2D test.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate effect of low-dye taping on balance performance in subjects with flexible flatfoot. METHODS: Fifteen asymptomatic volunteers who had flexible flatfoot (age, $21.7{\pm}1.81$years; height, $164.80{\pm}7.57cm$; weight, $56.47{\pm}10.48kg$) were participated for this study. Navicular drop test was used to evaluate pronation of foot in three different conditions; non-weight bearing position without low-dye taping, weight bearing position without low-dye taping, weight bearing position with low-dye taping. And balance performance (anterio/ posterior, medial/lateral, and overall) was evaluated using the Biodex Balance System in three different conditions; one-leg standing without low-dye taping, one-leg standing with low-dye taping, and one-leg standing with low-dye taping in one week later. Repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to assess navicular height and balance performance across the three testing conditions. RESULTS: Significant and clinically meaningful improvement in navicular height was found after application of the low-dye taping. However, there was no statistically significant change in balance performance. CONCLUSION: The results of this study provide evidence to suggest that low-dye taping does not affect balance performance.
