The acoustical response of fish depends on size and physical structure na, most important, on the presence or absence of a swimbladder. Acoustic scattering models for swimbladdered fish represent a fish by an ideal pressure-release surface having the size and shape as the swimbladder. Target strength experiments of red seabream (Chrysophrys major) have been conducted using 38 (split-beam), 120 (split-beam) and 200kHz (dual-beam) frequencies. At each start of each experiment, the live fish are placed in the cage at the surface, then the cage is lowed to about $4{\cal}m$ depth where it remains during the measurements. To test the acoustic models, predictions of target strength based on swimbladder morphometries of 10 red seabream offish total length from $103{\cal}mm{\;}to{\;}349{\cal}mm$ ($3 <$TL/\lambda$ < 45)are compared with conventional target strength measurements on the same, shock-frozen immediately after caged experiments. X-ray was projected along dorsal aspect to know the morphological construction of swimbladder. and fish body. At high frequencies, Helmholtz-kirchhoff(HK) approximation would greatly enhance swimbladdered fish modeling. Sound scattering model [HK-ray approximation model] for comparison to experimental target strength data was used to model backscatter measurements from individual fish. The scattering data can be used in the inverse method along with multiple frequency sonar systems to investigate the adequacy of classification and identification of fish

We prepared 100 nm-thick CoNi composite silicide on a 70 nm-thick polysilicon substrate. Composite silicide laye.s were formed by rapid thermal annealing(RTA) at the temperatures of $700^{\circ}C,\;900^{\circ}C,\;1000^{\circ}C$ for 40 seconds. A Focused ion beam (FIB) was used to make nano-patterns with the operation range of 30 kV and $1{\sim}100$ pA. We investigated the change of thickness, line width, and the slope angle of the silicide patterns by FIB. More easily made with the FIB process than with the conventional polycide process. We successfully fabricated sub-100nm etched patterns with FIB condition of 30kv-30pA. Our result implies that we may integrate nano patterns with our newly proposed CoNi composite silicides.

The shape of vertical pattern of base station antenna affects greatly quality of the communication of not only a service zone but also adjacent cells and then it is an important point to be considered in designing cell coverage. Currently type of vertical patterns to be applied to base station antenna are divided into five classes. In designing antenna, these five classes are applied solely or compositely according to the environment to be used antenna. In this paper, the dual polarized antenna for base station that is with a continuous electrical down tilting and with a shaped beam pattern, that an upper side lobe is suppressed and a lower null is filled, is designed and fabricated for synthesizing of the shape beant the pattern synthesis methods proposed by R. S. Elliott is used sequentially and for the electrical don tilting, the phased array theory is applied. Measured results show the down tilting range from 0° to 14°, the gain of Min. 13.3dBi and the upper side lobe of Max. -23dB. And we verified that upper side lobe is not to vary greatly and null filling performance is favorable overall.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the use of dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of osteoporosis among menopausal and postmenopausal women by using only a CBCT viewer program. Materials and Methods: Thirty-eight menopausal and postmenopausal women who underwent dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) examination for hip and lumbar vertebrae were scanned using CBCT (field of view: $13cm{\times}15cm;$ voxel size: 0.25 mm). Slices from the body of the mandible as well as the ramus were selected and some CBCT-derived variables, such as radiographic density (RD) as gray values, were calculated as gray values. Pearson's correlation, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and accuracy (sensitivity and specificity) evaluation based on linear and logistic regression were performed to choose the variable that best correlated with the lumbar and femoral neck T-scores. Results: RD of the whole bone area of the mandible was the variable that best correlated with and predicted both the femoral neck and the lumbar vertebrae T-scores; further, Pearson's correlation coefficients were 0.5/0.6 (p value=0.037/0.009). The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy based on the logistic regression were 50%, 88.9%, and 78.4%, respectively, for the femoral neck, and 46.2%, 91.3%, and 75%, respectively, for the lumbar vertebrae. Conclusion: Lumbar vertebrae and femoral neck osteoporosis can be predicted with high accuracy from the RD value of the body of the mandible by using a CBCT viewer program.

This paper presents a numerical study on the rotordynamic analysis of a dual-spool turbofan engine in the context of blade defect events. The blades of an axial-type aeroengine are typically well aligned during the compressor and turbine stages. However, they are sometimes exposed to damage, partially or entirely, for several operational reasons, such as cracks due to foreign objects, burns from the combustion gas, and corrosion due to oxygen in the air. Herein, we designed a dual-spool rotor using the commercial 3D modeling software CATIA to simulate blade defects in the turbofan engine. We utilized the rotordynamic parameters to create two finite element Euler-Bernoulli beam models connected by means of an inter-rotor bearing. We then applied the unbalanced forces induced by the mass eccentricities of the blades to the following selected scenarios: 1) fully balanced, 2) crack in the low-pressure compressor (LPC) and high pressure compressor (HPC), 3) burn on the high-pressure turbine (HPT) and low pressure compressor, 4) corrosion of the LPC, and 5) corrosion of the HPC. Additionally, we obtained the transient and steady-state responses of the overall rotor nodes using the Runge-Kutta numerical integration method, and employed model reduction techniques such as component mode synthesis to enhance the computational efficiency of the process. The simulation results indicate that the high-vibration status of the rotor commences beyond 10,000 rpm, which is identified as the first critical speed of the lower speed rotor. Moreover, we monitored the unbalanced stages near the inter-rotor bearing, which prominently influences the overall rotordynamic status, and the corrosion of the HPC to prevent further instability. The high-speed range operation (>13,000 rpm) coupled with HPC/HPT blade defects possibly presents a rotor-case contact problem that can lead to catastrophic failure.

This paper presents a dual-band array antenna based on a modified Sierpinski fractal structure. Array structure is mirror symmetric, and forms broadside radiation pattern for dual frequency band if the ports are fed with $180^{\circ}C$ phase difference between upper and lower $2{\times}1$ array. To use in-phase corporate feeding circuit, the phase inversion structure is designed by changing the position of patch and ground for upper and lower array. The dimensions of the array antenna is $28{\times}30{\times}5\;cm^3$ and the bandwidth of 855~1,380 MHz(47 %), 1,770~2,330 MHz(27 %) were achieved for -10 dB return loss. The measured gain is 9.06~12.44 dBi for the first band and 11.76~14.84 dBi for the second band. The half power beam width is $57^{\circ}$ for x-z plane and $46^{\circ}$ for y-z plane at 1,100 MHz and $43^{\circ}$ and $28^{\circ}$ at 2,050 MHz, respectively.
A technical overview on the various sample preparation methods for electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) analysis is carried out. The mechanical polishing with colloidal silica finish, electro-chemical polishing, dual layer coating and ion beam milling are introduced for the common sample preparation methods for EBSD observation and some issues that are frequently neglected by the common EBSD users but should be considered to get a reliable EBSD data are discussed. This overview would be especially helpful to the people who know what EBSD technique is but do not get a reliable EBSD data because of difficulties in sample preparation.

A small sized ceramic dielectric patch antenna is designed and implemented for GPS/GLONASS combined receiver, and it shows a wideband characteristics with circular polarization. For the miniaturization of the antenna, high-permittivity dielectric material is used, and the wideband characteristics with low axial-ratio is achieved by using dual feed with 90$^{\circ}$ phase difference. The measured data of the manufactured antenna show that the bandwidth is 242 MHz, the axial ratio is less than 3 dB, the half-power beam-width is more than 112$^{\circ}$, and the antenna satisfies the required characteristics of the GPS/GLONASS antenna.
We set up a four-wave holographic interferometer using a symmetric dual-beam illumination which is to measure in-plane and out-of-plane displacement simultaneously. In order to acquire the displacement phase map we applied the phase-shifting method and removed the noise of the phase map with least-squares fitting. In this approach the access to information relative to both the difference and sum of phases existing in the two arms of four-wave holographic interferometer was allowed. As a result, in-plane and out-of-plane displacement was measured to the accuracy of λ/40 and λ/100, respectively at λ=632.8nm

In focused-ion-beam (FIB) application of micromachining and device transplantation, four kinds of FIB processes, namely FIB sputtering, FIB-induced etching, redeposition, and FIB-induced deposition, are well utilized. As with FIB systems, scanning electron microscopes(SEMs) were extensively used in the semiconductor industry. They are the tools of choice for defect review and providing the image resolution needed for process monitoring. The enhanced capabilities of a dual-column on one chamber system are quickly becoming realized by the nano industry for performing a wide range of application.
