Design of an Active Adaptive Dual Controller for Non-Minimum Phase Systems (비최소 위상시스템에 대한 능동적응 이중 제어기의 설계)

  • We have developed a dual control algorithm by means of innovations approach and established the stability of dual by introducing the pole-placement method suggested by Berger on the non-dual control. The dual controller realizing this algorithm decreases control loss sharply when compared with that of a non-dual controller, and shows the characteristics of suppressing the output deviation in transient state effectively. The total control energy and the accumulated square misdistance of this dual controller are shown to be 1-10% and 0.1-10% of those of CE control, respectively. Consequently this controller solves the non-minimum phase problem encountered when discretizing the system equation, and can be used to overcome the uncertainty of system effectively by adjusting the learning rate of the controller.

  • Much of the study has been dong on the design of dual controller that guarantee the stability and improvement of the system performance. A dual controller concept is proposed to consist of first controller estimates the control law and second controller suppresses the combined noises due to numerical error and internal noise as well. These irregular disturbances are not only increasing the fatigue but also destabilize the system because of unwanted output performance. The 'stochastic controller' is used to suppress the irregular random disturbance. Simulation is conducted to reveal that the proposed dual stochastic controller is highly efficient one to control a system hybrid noises.

  • This Paper proposes Dual-PI controller for high performance control of IPMSM drive. Input of traditional PI control used speed error, but Dual-PI controller used two input speed error, current error and output is output is f-axis current.   • This paper discusses a observer based discrete-time controller design and presents a modified control structure for dual-stage hard disk drive systems using piezoelectric microactuator(MA). In plant modeling, dynamic coupling between VCM and MA is not considered. Each controller is organized independently and designed using pole placement. Simulation result shows that 4th-order controller achieves about 3kHz servo bandwidth and 0.22msec of 2% settling time.

Multi-Modal Controller Usability for Smart TV Control

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to suggest a multi-modal controller type for Smart TV Control. Background: Recently, many issues regarding the Smart TV are arising due to the rising complexity of features in a Smart TV. One of the specific issues involves what type of controller must be utilized in order to perform regulated tasks. This study examines the ongoing trend of the controller. Method: The selected participants had experiences with the Smart TV and were 20 to 30 years of age. A pre-survey determined the first independent variable of five tasks(Live TV, Record, Share, Web, App Store). The second independent variable was the type of controllers(Conventional, Mouse, Voice-Based Remote Controllers). The dependent variables were preference, task completion time, and error rate. The experiment consist a series of three experiments. The first experiment utilized a uni-modal Controller for tasks; the second experiment utilized a dual-modal Controller, while the third experiment utilized a triple-modal Controller. Results: The first experiment revealed that the uni-modal Controller (Conventional, Voice Controller) showed the best results for the Live TV task. The second experiment revealed that the dual-modal Controller(Conventional-Voice, Conventional-Mouse combinations) showed the best results for the Share, Web, App Store tasks. The third experiment revealed that the triple-modal Controller among all the level had not effective compared with dual-modal Controller. Conclusion: In order to control simple tasks in a smart TV, our results showed that a uni-modal Controller was more effective than a dual-modal controller. However, the control of complex tasks was better suited to the dual-modal Controller. User preference for a controller differs according the Smart TV functions. For instance, there was a high user preference for the uni-Controller for simple functions while high user preference appeared for Dual-Controllers when the task was complex. Additionally, in accordance with task characteristics, there was a high user preference for the Voice Controller for channel and volume adjustment. Furthermore, there was a high user preference for the Conventional Controller for menu selection. In situations where the user had to input text, the Voice Controller had the highest preference among users while the Mouse Type, Voice Controller had the highest user preference for performing a search or selecting items on the menu. Application: The results of this study may be utilized in the design of a controller which can effectively carry out the various tasks of the Smart TV.

  • Although many methods about the control of irregular external noise have been introduced and implemented, it is still necessary to design a controller that will be more effective and efficient methods to exclude for various noises. Accumulation of errors due to model tracking, internal noises (thermal noise, shot noise and 1/f noise) that come from elements such as resistor, diode and transistor etc. in the circuit system and numerical errors due to digital process often destabilize the system and reduce the system performance. New stochastic controller is adopted to remove those noises using conventional controller simultaneously. Design method of a model tracking dual controller is proposed to improve the stability of system while removing external and internal noises. In the study, design process of the model tracking dual stochastic controller is introduced that improves system performance and guarantees robustness under irregular internal noises which can be created internally. The model tracking dual stochastic controller utilizing F-P-K stochastic control technique developed earlier is implemented to reveal its performance via simulation.

  • In this paper, the development of a new group controller for high-speed elevator is carried out utilizing the approach of an adaptive dual fuzzy logic. Some goals of control are the minimization of waiting time, mean-waiting time and long-waiting time in a high building, when a new hall call is generated, adaptive dual fuzzy controller evaluate traffic pattern and change appropriately the membership function of a fuzzy rule base. Controls for co-operation among elevators in a group control algorithm arte essential, and the most critical control function in the group controller is an effective and proper hall call assignment of elevators. The group elevator system utilizing adaptive dual fuzzy control reveals a great deal of improvement on its performance.
