  • The present study has been conducted to reduce the cold air drying rate. According to the cold air drying method, the quality-excellent product could be made and there would be little change of color, taste and smell. As compared with the hot air drying, the cold air drying equipment has the superior dehumidification in a constant drying zone. However, in a falling drying zone that equipment is not energy-efficient because the drying period could be longer by the dehumidificated.

사이클론형 슬러지 공기건조기의 유동해석 (Flow Analysis for the Sludge Pneumatic Dehydrator with Cyclone Type)

  • Air drying technology was developed as an equipment for reducing of moisture content from wastewater treatment and waterworks sludge cake and reproducing it by reusable matter. Advantage of cyclone type pneumatic dehydrator is simple and excellent drying performance. The air drying equipment was composed to the air ejector which made high-speed fluid field, and cyclone which made circling fluid field. Dewatered cake was crushed at the high-speed zone as first step, and formed with dried powder of sphere shape by the collision between particles at the circling fluid zone. In this study, a CFD analysis has been performed to predict air-sludge particles flow in cyclone and ejector of pneumatic dehydrator. The computational results showed typical Rankine vortex structure which was frequently found in swirling flow phenomena. And the conical type wedge in lower part of a cyclone prevented accumulation of the sludge particles in the cyclone. Therefore, this technology was effective in drying of dehydrated cake of waterworks sludge.

하수슬러지 건조를 위한 폐루프 공기건조 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Closed-Loop Air Drying Technology for Drying Wastewater Sludge)

  • 슬러지 공기건조장치는 외기로부터 공기를 흡입/송풍하여 이젝터(Ejector) 및 다단 사이클론(Multi-Cyclone)에서 슬러지를 건조하는 시스템이다. 즉 공기건조장치는 외기의 조건에 따라 시스템 성능 변화가 클 뿐 아니라 개루프(Open-Loop) 구조로 되어 있어 에너지 소모량이 큰 단점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 공기건조장치의 분리기 후단에 응축기(Condenser), 냉각기(Cooler), 압축기(Compressor)로 구성된 제습기를 장착하여 송풍-건조-제습-송풍으로 순환하는 폐루프(Closed-Loop) 공기건조 기술을 개발하였다. 기존의 공기건조와 비교하여 본 기술의 특성을 비교 분석한 결과, 본 시스템의 공기는 외기에 비하여 약 50% 이상의 에너지를 더 많이 함유하고 있었다. 또한 공기가 시스템 내에서 순환하기 때문에 슬러지 건조에 공급하는 공기의 질을 일정하게 유지할 수 있어 시스템을 안정적으로 운용할 수 있을 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고 경제성을 분석한 결과, 폐루프 공기건조장치를 이용하여 슬러지 1톤을 건조하는데 소요되는 비용은 기존의 건조장치에 비하여 약 35% 절감되는 것으로 파악되었다. 따라서 본 기술은 에너지 소모량이 적고, 일정한 품질의 공기를 송풍할 수 있어 시스템의 안정적으로 운전할 수 있는 기술로 평가된다.

상.하수 슬러지 탈수케이크의 공기건조에 관한 연구 (Air Drying Technology for Dewatered Cake from Wastewater and Waterworks Sludge)

  • 하수 및 상수 처리장에서 발생되는 탈수케이크의 감량화와 재활용 가능한 물질로 생산하기 위한 방안으로 공기건조장치를 구축하였다. 80 m/sec의 공기속도와 30 $m^3/min$의 공기유량, 그리고 공기온도 $40^{\circ}C$로 운전되는 공기건조장치에 함수율 80 wt%이상의 탈수 케이크를 공급하여 건조하였다. 공기 건조장치는 Air Ejector에 의한 고속유동장과 사이클론에 의한 선회 유동장으로 구성되어 있는데, 투입된 탈수 케이크는 선회 유동장에서 1차 파쇄되고 선회 유동장에서 입자간의 충돌효과에 의해 성형되어 최종 구형의 건조분말을 생산한다. 함수율 82.5 wt%인 하수슬러지를 1.0 kg/min의 양으로 탈수 케이크를 공급하여 평균 함수율 62.3 wt%, 평균 입경 2.4 mm인 건조분말을 회수하였다. 이때 수분제거율은 0.1 $H_2O{\Delta}kg/min{\cdot}DS$ kg, 공기소모량은 170 $m^3/DS$ kg로 분석되었다. 동일 조건에서 상수 슬러지를 공기건조하였을 때 함수율은 47.5 wt%로 감소하였으며 평균 입경은 2.1 mm 그리고 수분 제거율은 $H_2O{\Delta}kg/min{\cdot}DS$ kg으로 증가하였으며 공기소모량은 180 $m^3/DS\;kg$로 증가하였다. 즉 본 기술은 하수 슬러지에 비하여 상수 슬러지의 탈수 케이크를 건조할 때 효율적이며 열을 가하지 않고 공기만으로 건조하여 수분을 감량시키기 때문에 경제적인 슬러지 처리 방법으로 평가된다.

Experimental investigation on loading collapse curve of unsaturated soils under wetting and drying processes

  • An experimental program of isotropic loading tests on a compacted kaolin using a conventional triaxial equipment modified for testing unsaturated soils was perform to investigate a loading collapse curve of unsaturated soils along wetting and drying paths. The test data are presented in terms of effective stress on a range of constant suction. The suction hardening behavior was observed for both wetted and dried samples. With the use of an appropriate effective stress parameter, the unique relationship for loading collapse curve for wetting and drying processes was obtained.

PC 펠렛의 마이크로웨이브 건조를 위한 에너지 효율 분석 (Analysis of Energy Consumption for Microwave Drying in PC Pellet)

  • Semiconductor inspection equipment makes components using materials with insulating properties for functional inspection including current and voltage of semiconductor parts. A representative insulating material is plastic, and plastic is made of a component through an injection process using plastic pellet. When plastic pellets contain excessive moisture, problems such as performance degradation and product surface defects occur. To prevent this, pre-drying is essential, and the heat convective type is the most applied. However, the heat convective type has a problem of low consumption efficiency and a long drying time. Recently, many studies have been conducted on a drying method using microwaves due to high energy efficiency. In this paper, drying was performed using a microwave for drying PC pellets. Energy consumption and drying efficiency analyzed by set up an experimental apparatus of heat convective, microwave, and hybrid(heat convective + microwave) types. It was confirmed that energy consumption and drying efficiency were high when drying using microwaves, and it was confirmed that the hybrid method improved drying performance compared to the heat convective method. It is expected that the research results of this paper can be used as basic data for drying plastic pellets using microwave.

  • The textile which is rotated in the tumbler dryer is dried by the heated air. the energy consumption for drying textile depends on various parameters. The objective of this study is to save the energy and the drying time. One of the various methods for energy saving is EGR(exhaust gas recirculation). We set the drying equipment for this study and perform the experimental study with the changes of the recirculation rate, the input power, and the air mass flow rate. We found the optimal drying conditions.

  • This research aims to secure fundamental data for the development offire-retardant wood by soaking dried wood in fire-retardant liquid. To dry wood, optimal drying conditions for softwood usually used as structural material and hardwood usually used as finishing or furniture material were derived by varying the microwave outputs and heating times of microwave wood drying equipment. The research foundthat each specimen needs 8 to 15 minutes of heating time depending on water content and output. For softwood, fire-retardant liquid equivalent to about 10 percent of the total mass of the specimen infiltrated into the dried wood, of which the water content was reduced to 5~6 percent.

Carbon Contained Ammonium Diuranate Gel Particles Preparation in Mid-process of High-temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Fuel Fabrication

  • This study investigates the dispersibility of carbon in carbon contained ammonium diuranate (C-ADU) gel particles and the characteristics of C-ADU gel liquid droplets produced by the vibrating nozzle and integrated aging-washing-drying equipment. It was noted that the excellent stability of carbon dispersion was only observed in the C-ADU gel particle that contained carbon black named CB 10. ADU gel liquid droplets containing carbon particles with the excellent sphericity of approximately 1,950 mm were then obtained using an 80-100-Hz vibrating nozzle system. Dried C-ADU gel particles obtained by the aging-washing-drying equipment were thermal decomposed until $500^{\circ}C$ at a rate of $1^{\circ}C/min$ in an air or in 4% $H_2$ gas atmosphere. The thermally decomposed C-ADU gel particles showed 24% weight loss and a more complicated profile than that of ADU gel particles.

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 로터리 방식이나 플래시 방식 등의 직접열에 의한 건조방식이 2차 공해 유발 및 폭발이나 화재의 위험을 항상 내포하는 등 여러 가지 단점이 있으므로 이러한 문제점을 연속 감압식 간접열 방식의 건조장치를 개발하여 근원적으로 해결하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목표는 50kg/hr용량의 연속 감압식 간접열 방식의 디스크 건조장치를 개발하여 건조효율을 70$\%$ 이상 향상시키며(기존의 제품은 50$\%$
