Numerical Analysis on the Electrical Characteristics of FS TIGBT

  • Here we present detailed simulation results of trench field stop IGBTs. Besides the reduced on-state voltage drop there is also an Increase of forward blocking voltage. A trench gate IGBT has low on-state voltage drop mainly due to the removal of the JFET region and a field stop IGBT has high forward blocking voltages due to the trapezoidal field distribution under blocking condition. We have simulated the static characteristics of TIGBT with field stop technology by 2D simulator(MEDICI). The simulated result of forward blocking voltage and on-state voltage drop is about 1,408V and 1.3V respectively at $110{\mu}m$ N-drift thickness.

가스 메탈 아크 용접에서 유체 유동을 고려한 금속 이행에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Metal Transfer Considering Fluid Flow in GMAW)

  • It is commonly known that, in GMAW, the characteristics of metal transfer and the size of molten drop are highly dependent on the welding current. These changes in the characteristics of metal transfer has a considerable effect on the weld quality, and a lot of studies have been made on metal transfer modes for that reason. In this study, two cases were investigated; the one in which the metal transfer proceeds with gravitational force, surface tension, and no electromagnetic force, and the other in which the process has electromagnetic term in addition, where the current density in the fluid has been assumed to have Gaussian distribution on any given cross-section and it acts vertically. Using fluid flow analysis, this study has observed the whole process of the development and break-up of the molten drop, and it also showed that transitional processes, drop rate, and the drop size in each metal transfer mode can be estimated.

고온고속류에서 기화를 고려한 연료액적의 분열(Breakup)기구 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Breakup Mechanism of Vaporizing Fuel Droplet in High Temperature and Velocity Air Stream)

  • In this study, an experimental study was performed to investigate the breakup mechanism of vaporizing droplet. A well-controlled experimental apparatus was used to study breakup mechanisms of a monodisperse stream of drops injected into a transverse high temperature and velocity air stream. The experiments gave information$ about the microscopic structure of the liquid drop breakup process, drop breakup regimes, and drop trajectories in high temperature flow region. The breakup time, drop acceleration and wavelength of surface instability wave were measured from a high-magnification and double spark photography. The two instability theories, i.e., Kelvin-Helmholtz instability and Rayleigh-Taylor instability, were estimated by comparing the calculated data with the measurements. The results showed that the breakup time in high temperature flow condition is shortened because the surface tension is decreased by the increase of gas temperature.

고효율 사이클론의 집진효율에 관한 연구 (A Study of High Particle Collection Efficiency of Cyclone)

  • For a reasonable analysis of grade efficiency of cyclone separator, in-line measurements of particle size and particle concentration are needed. The purpose of this study is to define the correlation of measurement data and to measure grade efficiency and pressure drop. The authors adapted that the grade efficiency could be calculated directly from the counted particle numbers. The problem of collection efficiency calculation was different from counting rate of aerosol counters under the same conditions. It is important factor to use the rate of the particle counters to obtain reliable results. Therefore, the authors should use and calculate compensation factor considering sensitivity of aerosol counters, gas velocity and concentration affect higher 30% than originally measured grade efficiency. As the pressure drop and grade efficiency increase, as flow rate increase and then also pressure drop and grade efficiency increase.

  • WDM(wavelength-division multiplexing) 광통신 네트웍을 이루는 핵심기술중의 하나는 ADF(Add-drop Filter)의 구현에 있다. 광섬유격자와 여러형태의 구조를 이용한 ADF들 중에서도 비대칭 결합기와 광섬유 격자를 이용한 구조는, 간섭계 구조가 아니기 때문에 제작이 용이하고 보다 안정된 특성을 보일 것으로 기대되어 많은 관심을 갖게 하고 있다$^{(1)}$ . 비대칭 결합기 구조의 경우, 두 광도파로의 코어반경이나 굴절율 분포가 서로 다르기 때문에, 일반적으로 광파의 결합이 일어나지 않는다. 그러나 브래그 격자의 반사조건을 만족하는 파장성분의 경우 입력단(input port)에서 드롭단(drop port)으로 반사되어 나오고, 그 외의 파장성분은 출력단(Output port)으로 나오게 되어 드롭 기능을 수행하게 된다. 비슷한 원리로 add port에서 출력단으로의 add 기능도 수행된다. 본 논문에서는 연산자 분리 시영역 모델$^{(2)}$ 을 이용하여 비대칭구조에서의 파장응답 특성을 해석하였다. 또한 최적화를 위한 조건을 알아 보고, 소자 설계에 필요한 파라미터를 정의하여 최적설계에 필요한 파라미터를 구하였다.   • Cyclone is widely adopted in the vacuum cleaner, because of the simple structure, the high dust collection efficiency and its transparency feature, which can be shown to the customer. At past times, cyclone performance was represented by collection efficiency, flow rate, pressure drop etc. At recent times the noise problem is getting important as cyclone comes into home-appliances. In this paper, pressure drop of cyclone and it's noise were measured at the variation of the cyclone structure and the main sources of cyclone peak noise was found by experimental and numerical analysis. In addition, the structure for peak noise reduction was suggested and it is beneficial both pressure drop and noise reduction.

상부유입식 전기 Cyclone-Bag Filter의 특성 (Characteristics of Electrostatic Cyclone-Bag Filter with Upper Inlet)

  • The main object of this study was to investigate experimentally the characteristics of electrostatic cyclone-bag filter with upper tangential inlet in order to overcome the low collection efficiency for the submicron particle and high pressure drop which were main problems of general fabric bag filters. The experiment was carried out for the analysis of collection efficiency and pressure drop of electrostatic cyclone-bag filter comparing to those of fabric bag filter with various experimental parameters such as the inlet velocity(filtration velocity) and applied voltage etc. In the results the upper tangential inlet type showed higher collection efficiency for submicron particles below 2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter than that of center inlet and over 99.9% for overall collection efficiency. Pressure drop reduction ratios were shown as 40-50% for the applied voltage 0kV by centrifugal force and 70-90% for 20k V by the centrifuga and electrostatic force with the tangential inlet velocity (12-21m/s)

  • To predict rain attenuation accurately, we must know scattering characteristics of rain-drops for real drop shapes. In this paper, the scattering characteristics of rain-drops are analyzed by an analytical model, and the differences in the characteristics of the forward scattering amplitudes for three different rain-drop shapes are compared. Using the results for the Pruppacher-Pitter's real rain-drop shaper, the specific rain attenuation in domestic environment is predicted, and the difference from the ITU-R model is compared and analyzed.

  • An experimental study was performed to investigate the influence factors of drop formation in electrohydrodynamic atomization. The mode of electrohydrodynamic atomization depended on the various factors such as the flow rate of the liquid, the inner diameter of the nozzle, the distance between the nozzle tip and the ground electrode, the shape of the ground electrode. and the applied high voltage. This work was performed to investigate the experimental analysis for the flow pattern visualization of droplets, and the relationship between voltage application and the behavior of liquid atomization. Uniform drops of different sizes can be obtained at the inception of the spindle mode by charging the flow rate and the electric field. The drop size also decreased when the flow rate was raised for the spindle mode. The whipping motion occurred beyond 7kV and before the corona started to take effect.

  • This thesis is simulated a aircraft nose landing gear drop-test. flow rate-to-pressure difference characteristics of damping orifices for a nose landing gear is investigated by CFD analyses. Orifice is kind of poppet valve type. it is simulated pressure drop with variable orifice area. it is simulated landing gear model by using ADAMS with CFD result. It's performance evaluated landing gear drop-test and analyzed the results.
