This paper presents an exploration on the effect of wind turbine contribution to the frequency control of individual systems that can be used for efficient power production in India. The research includes the study of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), in wind farms. The WTs are tested for inertia and for droop responses with intelligent fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) that choose Double Input Single Output (DISO) strategy that automatically sets gain constants, as well as combined responses for the WTs. Quantitative analyses are presented for the WTs for benefits and drawbacks including appropriate selection parameters. The analysis includes inertia, droop and combined inertia, droop schemes. The reconnaissance also incorporates inertia with FLC, droop with FLC, inertia and droop with FLC schemes for detailed study of WTs, so as to forecast and achieve proper frequency control. Moreover, the analysis provides the best suited method for frequency control in PMSG.
This paper proposes that each converter supplies the power using the proposed droop control for the parallel operation of the converters. The proposed method is easy to increase the power as parallel system in DC distribution. By improving conventional droop-control method used in AC grid newly, a droop controller is designed to apply droop control in DC grid. And the control method of the proposed droop controller is explained particularly. In this paper, by applying the proposed control method to DC distribution system, propriety is verified through the simulation and the experiment.

The present study proposes an angle droop controller for converter interfaced (dispatchable) distributed generation (DG) resources in the islanded mode of operation. Due to the necessity of proper real and reactive power sharing between different types of resources in microgrids and the ability of systems to respond properly to abnormal conditions (sudden load changes, load uncertainty, load current disturbances, transient conditions, etc.), it is necessary to produce appropriate references for all of the mentioned above conditions. The proposed control strategy utilizes a current controller in addition to an angle droop controller in the discrete time domain to generate appropriate responses under transient conditions. Furthermore, to reduce the harmonics caused by switching at converters' output, a LCL filter is used. In addition, a comparison is done on the effects that LCL filters and L filters have on the performance of DG units. The performance of the proposed control strategy is demonstrated for multi islanded grids with various types of loads and conditions through simulation studies in the DigSilent Power Factory software environment.

The unequal impedances of the interconnecting cables between paralleled inverters in the island mode of microgrids cause inaccurate reactive power sharing when the traditional droop control is used. Many studies in the literature adopt low speed communications between the inverters and the central control unit to overcome this problem. However, the losses of this communication link can be very detrimental to the performance of the controller. This paper proposes an improved reactive power-sharing control method. It employs infrequent measurements of the voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC) to estimate the output impedance between the inverters and the PCC and then readjust the voltage droop controller gains accordingly. The controller then reverts to being a traditional droop controller using the newly calculated gains. This increases the immunity of the controller against any losses in the communication links between the central control unit and the inverters. The capability of the proposed control method has been demonstrated by simulation and experimental results using a laboratory scale microgrid.
Droop control method is the conventional controller to solve the problem of current sharing error and voltage deviation that can occur in parallel connection of DC-DC converter. This paper compared V-I droop control with I-V droop control, which based on communication and confirmed the results through experiments.
Owing to mismatched feeder impedances in an islanded microgrid, the conventional droop control method typically results in errors in reactive power sharing among distributed generation (DG) units. In this study, an improved droop control strategy based on secondary voltage control is proposed to enhance the reactive power sharing accuracy in an islanded microgrid. In a DG local controller, an integral term is introduced into the voltage droop function, in which the voltage compensation signal from the secondary voltage control is utilized as the common reactive power reference for each DG unit. Therefore, accurate reactive power sharing can be realized without any power information exchange among DG units or between DG units and the central controller. Meanwhile, the voltage deviation in the microgrid common bus is removed. Communication in the proposed strategy is simple to implement because the information of the voltage compensation signal is broadcasted from the central controller to each DG unit. The reactive power sharing accuracy is also not sensitive to time-delay mismatch in the communication channels. Simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
This paper investigates the droop control of parallel inverters for an islanded mode of microgrid. Frequency and voltage droop control is one of power control and load demand sharing methods. However, although the active power is properly shared, the reactive power sharing is inaccurate with conventional method due to the unequal line impedances and the power coupling of active - reactive power. In order to solve this problem, an improved droop method with virtual inductor concept and a voltage and current controller properly designed have been considered and analyzed through the PSiM simulation. The performance of improved droop method is analyzed in not only low-voltage line but also medium voltage line.

Droop control schemes have been widely employed in the control strategies for Multi-Terminal Direct Current (MTDC) system for its high reliability. Under the conventional DC voltage-active power droop control, the droop slope applies a proportional relationship between DC voltage error and active power error for power sharing. Due to the existence of DC network impedance and renewable resource fluctuation, there is inevitably a DC voltage deviation from the droop characteristic, which in turn results in inaccurate control of converter's power. To tackle this issue, a piecewise droop control with DC voltage dead band or active power dead band is implemented into controller design. Besides, an advanced droop control scheme with versatile function is proposed, which enables the converter to regulate DC voltage and AC voltage, control active and reactive power, get participated into frequency control, and feed passive network. The effectiveness of the proposed control method has been verified by simulation results.
This paper presents a linear droop control scheme based on the generation costs of DGs in an autonomous DC microgrid. Unlike the proportional power sharing of the conventional droop control, in the proposed control algorithm, the minimum output voltage range is adjusted and the droop coefficients are regulated according to the generation costs of DGs. As a result, the DGs with lower costs supplies more power in comparison with those with higher costs. Therefore, total generation cost of the system is reduced significantly. The proposed method is simple to implement and it does not require the centralized controller and communication links.
This paper investigates the droop control-based real and reactive power load sharing with a virtual inductor when the line impedance between inverter and Point of Common Coupling (PCC) is partly and unequally resistive in high-capacity systems. In this paper, the virtual inductor method is applied to parallel inverter systems with resistive and inductive line impedance. Reactive power sharing error has been improved by applying droop control after considering each line impedance voltage drop. However, in high capacity parallel systems with large output current, the reference output voltage, which is the output of droop controller, becomes lower than the rated value because of the high voltage drop from virtual inductance. Hence, line impedance voltage drop has been added to the droop equation so that parallel inverters operate within the range of rated output voltage. Additionally, the virtual inductor value has been selected via small signal modeling to analyze stability in transient conditions. Finally, the proposed droop method has been verified by MATLAB and PSIM simulation.
