  • The LCD TV has many variable functions for consumer. Low temperature driving below minus 20 degree is also one of key functions. Since LCD is not self-luminance device, it is needed backlight system. Recently EEFL(External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp) widely substitutes for CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp). It is more cheaper, higher efficiency, and easy to drive parallel connection compared to CCFL. In this paper, several conditions for low temperature driving of EEFL are investigated and a new boost-half bridge inverter for low temperature driving is proposed. Mode analysis is described and experimental results is represented to verify validity of the proposed inverter.

  • Recently in the field of precision positioning device, the contact-free stages are gaining focuses with their outstanding performances by eliminating mechanical frictions. This paper presents the driving algorithm for contact-free linear stage based on switched reluctance principle. The proposed driving algorithm has a similar structure of that of switched reluctance motor but this study has its own originality in terms of reducing the normal farces and force ripple at the same time. The simulation and experiment are executed to verify the proposed algorithm.

  • We have developed low voltage driving white organic light emitting diode with new electron transport layer. The with light emission was realized with a yellow dopant, rubrene and blue-emitting DPVBi layer. The new electron transport layer results in very high current density at low voltage, causing a reduction of driving voltage. The device with new electron transport layer shows a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 at 4.3 V.

  • This study developed the emission intensity estimation method of GHGs by considering the characteristics of the models and time series. The telematics device was installed on the vehicle (OBD-II) to collect information on the operation conditions from each sample vehicle of public authorities. As a result of comparing the mileage distance and fuel consumption, the matching degree is analyzed very high, showed a ${\pm}1{\sim}4%$ error for each vehicle. By comparing driving record diary of vehicles managed by public authorities, this study presents the method that can be used to verify driving information in order to derive the GHGs emission intensity.

  • The need for precise location data is growing across numerous markets, and so is the number of affordable high-precision GPS receivers. In this paper, we validated the performance of RTAP2U, a low-cost high-precision RTK receiver that was recently released. Two positioning modes were tested: static and driving. The static test conducted Zero-Baseline Single-RTK and Network-RTK survey for 57 hours and 51 hours, respectively. For the driving test, Network-RTK survey was conducted using VRS services provided by NGII based on Trimble PIVOT and Geo++ GNSMART. The static test showed about 1 cm horizontal and vertical accuracies, which is very stable considering the test duration longer than 50 hours. The integer ambiguity FIX rate marked a solid 100%. The driving test result also reached a 100% FIX rate. Horizontal and vertical accuracies were better than 2 cm and 3 cm, respectively. Researchers can refer to this paper when considering affordable high-precision GPS receivers as an option.

  • This paper presents a new type of jetting dispenser for the integrated circuit (IC) fabrication and surface mount technology The proposed system is featured by the piezoelectric actuator and hydraulic magnification device. After describing structural component of the dispensing mechanism and its operation principle, both the fluid modeling and the hydraulic magnification modeling are undertaken with a lumped-parameter method based on the analogy of the fluid system and mechanical system. A mathematical governing equation is then derived by integrating the fluid model with the mechanical model of the driving piston and piezoelectric actuator. Subsequently, in order to achieve a desired dispensing amount, control algorithm adjusting duty cycle of the driving voltage is synthesized and control responses are presented in time domain.

  • This paper presents the new linear notion device so called \"inch-werm\" which gets large displacement by incrementally summing small displacements of PZT actuators. Dynamic stiffness of inch-worm is generally low compared to its driving condition due to the requirement of inch-worm like small size and light weight. This low stiffness may degenerate the positional precision of inch-worm. An inch-worm is realized using three PZT actuators, a monolithic moving device and a guide way frame. Finite element method and experimental approach are used to analyse the static and dynamic motion of the designed inch-worm. Command reference input is shaped to reduce the residual vibration of inch-worm. The practical feasibility of inch-worm is also examined by running tests.ing tests.

  • An existent hoist drive system is using each different drive equipment in control of Hoisting, traveling(T/L), traversing(T/S) driving, so there are much energy losses because of excessive weight. Also, power circuits are using relay contact, so working environment are frequent secession accident etc.. by shock on unfavorable condition, and there is danger of safety accident, maintenance has frequent problem and so on. To solve these problem, it is integrated each driving power supply in drive system for hoist control and drive, utility power supply etc.. by single device in this research. The power circuit is consisted of non-contact circuit applying to bidirectional voltage controller circuit using thyristor that is power semiconductor switching device

  • This paper studies the comparative analysis on two different internal cushion devices (the types of needle and relief valve) used to absorb the energy which is generated when the pneumatic cylinder moves with the load at meter-out speed control system. The effect at varying the piston velocity under same driving condition is mainly investigated. The simulation results on pressure in the cushion chamber and the dynamic behavior of the relief valve type cushion device are compared with the needle valve type. Design and performance are improved with the cushion configuration of better quality at high-speed pneumatic cylinder. Based on the relation between absorbed energy and impact energy at cushion process, cushion performance at pneumatic cylinder is evaluated.
